The call-outs aren't great. The writing isn't so awful, it just doesn't seem to fit the energy of the moment. The humor is there, just kinda in character to Alex .. it just doesn't make you smile as much.
The biggest issue for our 'new' plays has been understanding what to do. The screen design is really hard to read as the player (way too small of text).. and lack of guidance in call-outs and on the display for most stuff. Obviously areas they can improve upon in software.
The game is fun to shoot... and gets real fun in multiball. The mix of the cross-playfield shots and the loops make it fun when alot is going on.
Software is new of course... but I hope they improve the screen and guidance stuff. The animations and media stuff for the most part are nice and enjoyable.
I like the game more than TMNT when it hit the street, and way more than LZ. I'm still optimistic it can be made into a B+/A game.

What is the impressions for the clockwork drum for LE owners?
Does it integrate pretty well in the game?
Would be cool to work in a drum solo or midnight madness mode since it keeps real time.

I’d love for them to include anything to complete the game through code updates but not through purchasing a topper.
Played an LE yesterday and it was just phenomenal. Just a beautiful machine.
Scoop seemed to be holding up ok after the first few weeks.
Hope other machines are faring well too.
Wouldn’t be surprised if in the next few updates we see some adjustments to default scoring or settings.

We all wanted a fix for the scoop issue but never imagined it being a scoop cover too which will impact ball path in game play. May not matter by tomorrow or a year from now, but it’s quite a change.
Rush is a real fantastic game either way.

Yeah the challenge with Sterns final fix is the fact that some existing games with v2 protectors are holding but getting beat up fast. Hoping their fix will fit over a cliffy or another protector long term.

In the world of Borg designs (good dude by the way), the grand majority of them do not have flow. Most are tight shooting games and you may go for a while until you find the sweet spots on the flipper before you gain much success. My opinion, but I think Borgie won't be getting any Best Ball Flow votes - at least from me. I know pinball isn't ALL about flow. Lawlor games don't have much flow and like some Borg layouts, can lean heavily on a tight upper right or left flipper shot to move the game rules forward. I think my frustration (aside from scoop issues) is stepping up to the game and becoming so frustrated that I just power it off and walk away. Why? One reason is that I like games that lean to satisfying flow-centric shots. Iron Maiden is amazingly smooth, Congo is smooth, GnR-DE (Borg game) is pretty darn flow-centric. Either my game is just not set up well, or I've become a terrible player just on Rush. I can flip the ball 20 times and do nothing but hit left ramp entry targets, bumpers guarding the sides of every shot in the upper half, hit orbit shots that get 3/4 of the way around and bounce around loosing their momentum and fall back. I'm awesome at hitting the scoop - constantly from bottom and side. Drop targets and RUSH stationary targets get beat plenty. My boys who play a LOT of pinball don't care to play the game saying it is the most congested and least rewarding layout in our collection of 45 or so pins. But - I do love the theme, the music, the modes are fantastic if I could ever get one completed. It's a keeper for me if I can find a way to shoot the game better. My high game is just over 500Mil. It was a rarity. Most of the time I'm around 40-150M. Higher games around 200-250Mil. Those higher scoring games are fun and I know I can shoot the game occasionally. That freekin' scoop kills me when I hit it 25 times in a single game, yet can't hardly make a skill shot or a 1 in 5 ramp shot. Is anyone else in this funk about the layout ?
Sorry you’ve been frustrated but simply do not agree on Borg or Rush. Games like IM and Tron have a lot of flow. Rush in particular is a bit more forgiving than his other layouts (turtles anyone?) but per usual, rewards accurate combo shots. Consider a trap and shoot for a bit if the game is moving fast or need to dial in the shots. Nothing at all wrong with taking a break either.
I’m sure you’ll break this funk soon as you seem to enjoy his layouts - Good luck!

Stern isn’t perfect but they are the most reliable, responsive, and address issues fairly quickly.
Look to most other manufacturers and you’ll find either little warranty protection or improvement quality wise from code to build.
Consider purchasing second hand or later in a run to avoid these early problems in the future.

Owned GNR as well and the while the light bars were impressive, I prefer how Sterns shine down vs up at the player to compliment the game vs almost competing with the GI.
I just find it a bit easier to see and play the game.

For side scoop issue after replacement switch is installed check menu:
- Go to DIAG - RUSH - SSCP screen.
-Check to be sure opto/switch is clear and not detecting a ball. (see below)
-if it is you need to adjust it.
Had this issue initially until aligned.

FYI - anniversary edition can be purchased in pieces as well. My son gave his middle school science teacher the 40th Moving Pictures vinyl as a gift on last day. Kick ass teacher who plays Rush regularly in class and as a part of his curriculum. Big fan.

And before the Godzilla nut huggers get on me for being biased, I own both of them. They are sitting right next to each other (both premium versions). If anything, I should be more biased towards Godzilla since it cost more and it's the newer pin in the lineup.
Rush is definitely underrated (yes, both as a pin and as a band)!
Yeah the pin is earning respect by how well it plays and rules, that’s what matters. Some who were initially dismissive on theme are coming around.
Pinside is what it is but Gomez seemed pretty satisfied in an interview how many they’ve moved so far.

Yes, like snaroff mentioned it’s a bit tricky in that area but was worth it to me. Take your time and should be okay.

Agree every manufacturer has issues but far less problems with Stern overall and quality issues every single time with Spooky. (Owned a few of each)
Stern has been responsive quickly going beyond on warranty items as well.

I enjoy addl ramp and ball lock features but sounds like you purchased the right machine for your tastes.

Yeah I’ve seen magnets/decal mods out there to cover the full apron but personally don’t see value in paying more money for mods to cover up something I didn’t really want to pay for in the first place.

I wish Pinwoofer could attend TPF so I can shake the guys hand. I don’t often do a lot of mods but this one has made me a believer- great in RUSH!
Metallica has always been my longtime fav Stern but RUSH is slowly creeping… just a fun, well rounded excellent game.

Topper is cool and red shooter really match premium/pro even more than the LE.
Not a fan of DLC tied to limited release products that may leave owners out.
Happy folks will have an opp to get an EL kit.

Mine was shipped with one foam piece on the end and some cobbled up bubble wrap covering the top.
No damage but clearly a real miss on the approach to packing these Stern.
How do people like the shooter rod? I get it, it’s all subjective, just curious as I’m on the fence.

Like the topper but man are those gears always that loud as they spin. Wish Stern had a setting to have them only spin when you achieve award vs motor always on or off.
