Quoted from Magicman:

I don't have this problem on my game, but I had it on my WOZECLE only the pop ring was hitting a metal ball guide instead of a scoop. I just took a sharpie and marked the area on the ring that was making contact. Then removed the pop ring and used a Dremel to remove a small part of the ring. Pretty simple fix and didn't alter game play.

Thanks!

Quoted from Schwaggs:

I just used a micro switch I had in my stash. This is the same switch that has been used in pinball machines for years. The problem is that the force to activate the switch varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and worse from switch to switch in manufacturer batches. I replaced my switch with the exact same model and manufacturer switch and the new one stays closed while the original doesn’t.

It's not because force varies batch to batch - it's because the actuation force is part of the design spec for the switch. Same looking switch comes in multiple specs. So swapping switch from Game A to Game B isn't always fully compatible. For instance in the Cherry DG Microswitch line there are 5 different actuator force variations in EACH of the actuator types. Some applications use different switches and most pinball people don't pay close enough attention and will just see 'looks close enough'.

Quoted from Av8:

Ok. Did you set it to 4 OHM or 8 OHM?

My sub doesn't have an ohm switch. It's a B&W sub I've had for a very long time but it wasn't being used. Is there a 4/8 switch on the amp in the pin?

Back of the sub has:
Phase (0 or 180)
Mode (Auto or On)
EQ (A or B)
Low Pass Filter (40-140)
Out/In
Volume

I need to read the manual to figure out what all of those options means.

#3654 2 years ago
Quoted from Magicman:

But interestingly when I first opened the coin door and dove into the menus, the game told me that I was running 0.90 code and that a 0.91 code update was available.

it may not appear on their site, but it's there

Is the pro code out there too?

He might have meant the backbox speaker adjustment.

Ok, mylar installed to protect both RUSH scoops. Mostly invisible unless the light is directly on it as you can see from the comparison pics below.

I had to cut the mylar off from under the posts because when I went to reinstall the posts, tightening them tweaked the mylar.

Looks factory, nice work @pinmonk. I’m surprised there wasn’t any mylar for these scoop ejects from the factory - my LZ and AS did have them.

I use this 3mil mylar from Marco, and it seems thinner than the stuff Stern puts on. What thickness would you recommend?

I'm using the Marco mylar for this. I also use it for shooter lanes before cliffies arrive.

We get the DJ Mixer support now! Sweet!

#3664 2 years ago

Dang - just updated last night to 0.90 LOL

#3665 2 years ago
Quoted from Kez11:

The interesting thing here is that it will do this during a live game, and then play continues after the ball search clears the scoop, so it seems like software to me...and yes, I've read through this whole thread...

Looks like this might be the fix for the ball hanging out in the scoop rarely, usually with multiball, new in 0.91:

- Fixed an issue that could cause extremely long held ball times when a player had drained with a time machine upgrade lit and at least 1 upgrade collected during the previous ball.

#3666 2 years ago

10 GB up from 8 GB. Lets go. Lots of changes.

LE V0.91 - March 23, 2022

Looks good. I would recommend putting the upper factory scoop protector back on and use hard as nails hardener on the bare wood. The right side of the lower scoop takes a beating. I have playfield protector and factory scoop and its not enough. Im going to have to put factory fork back on and probably the blue squares upgrade.

#3668 2 years ago

- “Skill Shot:
- Changed the skill shot logic to disable the skill shot opportunity if
the ball rolls over the top shooter lane switch twice”
Awww, man. That was my jam!

#3669 2 years ago
Quoted from Magicman:

Late last night I went to play a few games and my flippers weren't working, and the clock and 4 of the flashers and G.I on the bottom of the playfield were just pulsing with a small flash. I checked the diagnostics, and it looks like my number 8 node board has gone bad. Emailed Stern today and they are sending a replacement. But interestingly when I first opened the coin door and dove into the menus, the game told me that I was running 0.90 code and that a 0.91 code update was available. I downloaded and installed it over Wi-Fi, and all of that went well, but I won't know what changes that made until I get the replacement node board. Went to Stern's download page and I don't even see 0.91 in the updates yet. Surprised no one else has posted on the update. I'd be curious to see the update "read me".

Read back through this thread. The issue may not be the board but the wiring. If it happens after the new board is installed you might want to start there.

Already doing the hard as nails clear nail polish. It's been in my pin toolbox for decades. I don't think the factory protectors on this are salvageable after only 30-something (admittedly long) plays. Pretty tweaked and dinged. I don't think either will get to flat again, and even if I can manage it, I doubt they'll stay that way for long.

#3672 2 years ago

Finally broke 100m...low for you guys I know but I'll take it!
Loving this damn thing!
I like how they implemented the 10 band EQ for bb and cab. Doesn't sound great, but better than any of my other Sterns.
How and when can you activate the ramp diverted? Not quite catching on to that yet.
Honeymoon phase means we need to jump back in bed baby YEAH!!

#3673 2 years ago
Quoted from Gryszzz:

How and when can you activate the ramp diverted?

Center Lock Down Button changes the ramp diverter. The bottom right and left flasher indicate which direction is active. Ramp diverter can be changed any time, but some modes, combos may have it set automatically.

No need. Facebook is bad. Very bad. Let it die.

Has anyone gotten to a Cygnus X mode?
Think I am so close as times.
Would be good to know which Time Machine Multiballs were started in the Status (don’t think it’s there yet)

It’s going to be much harder to get to with .91 code

#3677 2 years ago

Lots of welcome tweaks to increase difficulty - like changing most multiballs to 2 ball. 10 GB! Maybe they reduced the compression on some of the video assets.

Got my Pinmonk order so time to do some mods and open up my outlanes a notch. Hope that right side isn’t as tough to get to as it looks.

Would have preferred 2112! I don’t think this is a wifi bandwidth issue. I realize the servers are getting bombed hard, but yeesh.

Oh man I haven't been this jazzed about a pin in awhile. Having trouble watching the ball cause I'm watching the lcd screen,...just perfect! Love all the concert footage!
Prob in the minority here but I actually love the band members on the pf. They're campy and fun, just like pinball is supposed to be!
Knocking the drops down and trying to shoot the shot behind them is so satisfying...
Maybe in a year I'll figure out wtf is going on but right now it's honeymoon sex baby

#3687 2 years ago

Okay. 0.91 updated! Will be streaming this 8pm EDT tonight! twitch.tv/wilddogarcade

Previously I did over the air upgrades. This time I burned a new SD card. What I didn’t know it was that it was going to blow away my wifi and insider connect settings. Then I went back to the old SD card and same (settings gone). Does anyone know if this is normal if swapping the card or did I just have bad luck?

Normal or no?

#3691 2 years ago

Played a game locked a ball behind instrument targets then the targets popped up and trapped the ball.Search cant kick it out.
updated code and same thing happened going for high score at the time naturally.New code is awesome.

#3692 2 years ago

SO good, but if you're on a train to Bangkok playing this...even better!
REALLY thankful that my machine was just set up and play with no issues. My second one from JJ like that. He really is the best.
That left orbit comes SCREAMIN back at ya...

Anyone else experiencing the update caught in a loop? It’s reaches 99% complete and reverts back to stern insider connected setup page displaying version .90 installed. It’s done that loop three times so far. Fourth times gonna be the charm. I know it!

Edit: and so it was. Fourth time through it went to the game code update screen on its own.

Normal or no?

It's probably normal because Jack Danger had to do a factory reset on his Godzilla mid-stream yesterday. Even though it wasn't an actual SD card change, he ended up having to set up Insider Connected again on the game afterwards.

Can anyone explain to me why it takes an hour or more to download the code via wifi on the game and it only took five minutes on my computer previously?

Downloading uncompressed files and slow wifi dongle.

Come on Wi-Fi …. you can do it!

Btw - wanted to say thanks to you early owners of Rush for making this thread one of the best owner experiences I’ve had in a long time on Pinside. Everyone has been positive and pretty LEVEL headed considering some of the issues.

Imagine we will see a whole influx of new Rush fans after TPF this weekend..

Also probably different storage servers. The times a be update rolls out and I don't update my game in the first few days, I'll turn the game on and it downloads on under 30 minutes or so. Maybe a lot less. Right now all games on IC that are set to automatic are grabbing it.
