Quoted from indypinhead:So much for allowing the balls from entering from the sides.
Yeah, no more sloppy dribbling in from the sides - it takes aim to hit the shot now, but it’s still pretty easy. For me that’s an improvement.
Quoted from gandamack:I'll take it, ugly or not. Seems they could have at least made the scoop protection a themed mod. I could totally see rounding out the 90 degree edges and makine it look like a pair of wheels. Whoo-lah, you now have "between the wheels."
Or at least edges that don't look like a kindergartener cut them...i guess it's too much to ask to have them run some sand paper or something across the edges to make it look somewhat clean...
Quoted from Photopin:Seems time they could have gone with something more streamlined like the did at the bottom of the ramp to the time machine.

Tough to do when this repair wasn’t part of the original design. You can tell it was an afterthought!
Quoted from Rarehero:After adjusting the audio settings on my LE (4ohm and then the other settings to bring the treble & bass back), my Rush sounds spectacular IMO. Crystal clear music & voice, great stereo separation, and I can feel the bass as my hands rest on the game.
Everyone has different audio expectations though. I went to a collector's house once and he was like "AC/DC just sounds like absolutely SHIT...so I modded mine, it's unbelievable, you've GOT to hear it!" He had this GIANT amplifier or equalizer or something inside his game. He turned it on. It was SOOOOOOO bad...just absolutely caustic. Sounded like a car that blasts too much bass in the distance. You couldn't hear the lyrics or much of the music anymore...just diarrhea fart bass. He looks at me smiling..."Isn't it GREAT?!?!?" I'm like...are you serious? It's horrible. It's viscerally hurting my ears...I think my factory stock one sounds better, you can actually hear the music"....and he says "Oh, well, I'm mostly deaf from going to too many concerts - so this sounds good to me"
Anyway, with some tweaks - Rush sounds awesome.
Good to hear tweaks make a big difference. R&M was the same way...sounded awful out-of-the-box but with some fiddling sounded great.
No doubt everyone has different ears and experience...I have PinWoofer on most of my music pins and it does wonders for clarity (could care less about LOUD, but it does that as well
Quoted from Craziestsinge:Did anybody see this yet? Rush released an official music video for YYZ.
Stern: If you're listening, please add YYZ to the game. If this is not possible, please add it with the topper. Thank you!
That’s great. I really thought Fantoons would be included in either the artwork or the video screen. There is still time to add to the videos.
Quoted from Vino:It’s a fix, but man could it look any less appealing.
Oh well.
We'll see what Cliffy comes up with. I prefer keeping the side doors open if possible.

Same here....
I hope Cliff comes up with a better "fix".

Pretty cool video, I always enjoyed this one, guy did amazing work with the movement and angles.

Blue bumpers on each side!

Its as if Stern had a “best fix” contest at the factory and the contestants began rummaging through parts boxes.
If this was the best idea, would love to see what else was proposed.

It's the 'Apollo 13' fix?
I'm still trying to figure out wtf they were thinking with those bumpers and how this isn't some kind of joke.

That was a premium just wanted to verify pros had a fix
#675 finally arrived, spent a few hours today adding all the mods. Pinwoofer, Doug's speaker lights , Willipinball flasher covers and dice, space coast magnet and decal. Still waiting for presto and barchetta. What a great game

I’m not being ignorant just trying to understand why ?

Guessing that the blue protectors are there to prevent ball to metal contact on the sides.
Quoted from 27dnast:It's actually 210lbs...
That’s it? Would’ve figured at least 250

1) exposed brackets to the normal ball travel
2) taking away significant ball travel paths (the sideways movement) - Adding armor all around the top trying to make it into some one dimensional entrance
3) It looks like killing flies with sledgehammers
4) I'm still not convinced of the ball direction that was really causing concern
On our local games the surface that got the most abuse was the right side of the scoop... the ball doesn't typically approach from the left, and certainly not at speed.. so not sure how it was taking abuse there.
I would prefer a solution that didn't look like putting an erector set over your scoop.

Do you think they were worried about balls getting nicked by “forklift” prongs ? Also , when I opened it up those first games played seemed the flipper power was way too strong .I had air balls all over .I didn’t notice any drop in factory settings from .88 to .89 but I definitely see a big difference in the .90 including a much harder time getting up and around the jackpot ramp .I’ve had solid shots stall at the top by the diverter and fall back to the left flipper instead of making it through to the right with the dome light calling for it to .

Another thing , I was wondering if the original protector would’ve been fine if it was a more solid stock used .What do you think ?

The right side of the hole is definitely getting hit the hardest. What I think is happening from the games I have played over the last few weeks is the right flipper shot hits the back of the scoop and based on the angles, most of the time bounces to the right hitting the wood on that right side of the hole. My hole is protected with 2 layers of clear auto vinyl, I put a second layer on after I saw that right side taking shots.

Things that are funnier out of context

Brilliant!
If anyone is interested.
These are very cheap on Amazon.
I was going to fix my own scoops!

Isn’t that what I just posted?
So is the LE scoop fix no longer working? I think the blue rubbers are ugly but should LE owners be asking for conversion kits?
Quoted from J-drum11:Isn’t that what I just posted?
Yup. Just agreeing and adding a visual!
Wait a minute, those blue bumpers are really the fix??? I had a premium delivered today and it doesn’t have those. I hope thats not really the fix, it’s ugly.
Quoted from indypinhead:So much for allowing the balls from entering from the sides.
I have to say, that is one FUGLY fix.
FUGLY fixes try harder.

Oh,
I hope someone tops that fix but it’s something
Has anyone tried using mylar over the stock metal “cliffy” to see if it helps extend its life (and to help hold it in place)? I did this for my show game, and the mylar is holding up well so far.

Klipsch on rush and gz, polk on gnr

My main concern is that the pop bumper to the left will be hurling balls at full speed right into that metal plate with the two screws, that can't be good.
