Quoted from Boslaw:

I just lost all of my high scores today except my grand champion score. Nothing happened before that would have precipitated the loss. No update, no reset, no crash/freeze. Just turned on the machine and my first game of the day was 30mm and registered as a high score (I had 3 1B+ games on there - 30mm wasn't remotely close to my existing scores). What a bummer.
Anyway to refresh those scores from Insider Connected? I doubt it but it would be nice since they're all recorded there too I assume.

This is normal. There's an adjustment to clear everything except the GC every X games, which defaults to 2000 I think on newer Sterns.

#18152 51 days ago

If by chance you’ve done a save of your configuration to a USB memory stick, you could restore your then-current high score table from there.

Turn off the automatic clearing of high scores so it doesn’t happen again.

I'm trying my hand at creating mods for Rush. I need a Premium and an LE owner to test and give me feedback on my first mod, a Snakes & Arrows themed road sign. I already have another Pinsider testing it on a Pro machine (as am I). If you have a Premium or LE and are interested, please PM and let me know which machine you have. I'll send a free mod to test to a Premium owner and an LE owner who are the first to message me. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: I have my testers. Thanks for your interest!

Love that RUSH Sign - I think it would fit the game well. I have a LE and used a Snakes and Arrows Guitar pick as a road sign but yours looks much nicer!

I can do that. Once my testers have a chance to troubleshoot for me, I'll be ready to start shipping. Will advise.

Install on my pro done! A most Excellent mod.
Very polished and you can tell a lot of thought and care went into creating this and the instructions were great.
Totally looks stock blends right in. Pictures are great but it's even better IRL.
And the install is low difficulty!

Well damn. This just happened to me last night. Surprised I put over 1200 games on it in the last 5 months. Although it looks like it's going to get 10000 plays before I ever get close to a billion. My best has been 250 k. Lol 1st pin so still learning but having a blast. I see how these things multiply in your house. Definitely need another.

Whenever my ball enters the upper side scoop it doesn't kick out any more, is there a known fix?

#18173 46 days ago
Quoted from palmab03:

Could be a broken wire on the switch.

#18174 45 days ago
Quoted from palmab03:

could be that the ball switch wire that is supposed to be depressed is pushed off to one side so when a ball is in the trough, it is not being recognized.

there was an updated piece of hardware sent out to distributors by stern as a fix to address ball trough issues. it's possible that your machine was never updated with the new hardware.

Stern putting out speaker lights. Doesn’t show Rush compatibility yet. Pricier than the alternatives.

The only game I have with no lights now is Bond so I will buy these for it to try.

The sync to game play may or may not be overrated on other games but it's pretty good on Jaws which I have played!

#18177 44 days ago

They didn't list any of the music pins that support expression lighting. (No music pins at all from what I recall.) I'm guessing it is a completely separate bit of code from what runs the expression lighting. Possible the lights don't have as many LEDs in there as in the ELs.

Stern could have really made the music pins with the cabinet Expression Lights a no brainer as far as their speaker lights go, but they really dropped the ball on the speaker lights.

The LED count per speaker could have been 24 LEDs (I have 24 LEDs in my 5.25" light rings), but they designed the light rings a bit too small and only 23 LEDs will fit in their rings. The decision to use a smaller ring really boggles my mind as why do they want the LEDs that close to the speaker hole anyway. People want to see the LIGHT from the LEDs, not the LEDs themselves. 24 LEDs would have been nice for a couple of reason. The main one being 24 is evenly divisible by a lot of different things. 23 LEDs are not evenly divisible by anything. That would make programming multi-color chase patterns easier. Also....as it is, each side of the cabinet Expression lights is made up of 2 rows of 24 LEDs. That would have made the programming a sinch if the light rings would have also been 24 LEDs....it would have already been done if they choose to have them do the same thing as the cabinet Expression lighting.

The worst, however, is that they have the data signal for the speaker light being split and sent to each 23 LED speaker light ring. That means, whatever the right side is doing...the left side has to be lit exactly the same. So...no light sweeps from the left and right side on the speaker lights. No lights chasing one direction on one side and the other direction on the other. You know how the cabinet Expression light will have different lighting on each side....that's just not possible with their speaker lights. It was some real piss poor planning that went into their speaker lights. A 3" piece of wire and a little bit of thought is all that would have been needed to have had them wired correctly, so each speaker light could have been controlled independently.

I appreciate solutions that are done better and at the same time, less expensive.
I think yours are a good example of this.
I don't see any benefit to paying more for less in this situation. Unless someone wants to consider it a donation to sterns big new warehouse.

Played a pro and premium at local arcades. It seemed like only the Pro had this issue, but I couldn't get a good photo behind the premium drumset. Anyone know if this is supposed to bend this way? Every loop shot from right to left on the pro, the ball will loop around the back, miss all the pop bumpers and go dead center drain between the flippers. This bracket looked like the culprit and I was curious if defect or not.

Could be as simple as a pf slope setting. At 6.5 deg on my huo premium I may experience 1 in 20 doing a sdm.

I have a novel solution for issues with the mini loop that I wanted to share, it eliminates stuck balls, switch detection issues from the ball riding up the rail, and eliminates free hits from rolling the wrong way from the time machine.
I used one of Sonic MRS switches that was already installed in the game, it was better than the rollover wire, but still missed many loop shots as the ball rides the wall.

In this image you can see it in place at the left side of the rail cutout, you can also see the wear pattern from the ball wall riding the rail.
rush1.jpgrush1.jpg
Here's the same image with some crude notes
rush2.pngrush2.png

As I used an MRS meant for the switch slot, I really had to hack away at it while keeping the wire integrity intact. I used a spacer underneath to get a bit more height as well, and just attached it with some VHB tape.

Maybe Sonic could make a more purpose built version of this?

We have MRS' shaped for bowl's...which 'could' fit there...but we'd need to know what that curve/radius is exactly - to modify our current design...we don't have a Rush in our lineup...so if someone can measure that radius - it'd be easy to make one...

I don't have ready access to the game, or I would get that to you. Hopefully it can be installed without removing that plastic too, as one of the screws is under the side ramp.
It would need longer wires too, but that should be easy.

why not, but...

it is so easy to put a "cover" there, easy to DIY (even if i have 2 left hands), i've done it for :

X-Men > OK
Rush > OK
007 (girls loop) > OK

The MRS and a cover over the loop would achieve most of those fixes, I don't think it would rattle either. But you'd still get the rollback free hits on the loop, but that's not a big deal I suppose.

I am all in on the stern speaker lights love them so much they look so awesome in person 100 percent worth the money waiting on the 5.25 ones I would rather have a couple less LED lights and have a game integrated speaker light kit that integrates with features in the game! They look so good in person if you haven’t see. Them on James Bond, Godzilla, Jaws or John Wick!

Thinking about getting a HUO Rush for my next game and trying to decide between the Pro and Premium. We have a local Pro that I can play, but I haven't gotten to play the Premium yet. There's one LE in town, but it's in poor shape and I'm reluctant to use it for comparison. Whichever version I get is intended to be kept permanently so long-term reliability is an issue if any mechs are known to be prone to failure. I also expect to add Expression Lighting and will probably look at doing at least some speaker upgrades too if these aren't there already. HUO Premiums are of course much more likely to have these upgrades pre-done compared to Pros.

Has the Node 10 board issue ever been fixed? Also, if a Premium has been working for a long time, does that mean it has a "good" board that will stay good or can the Node 10 board fail later too?

Does anyone still sell a dead end return ramp for the Pro? The two versions I've seen both appear to be no longer made.

Question about the Time Machine... Is it equally consistent and safe to have the magnet toss the ball down on the Pro vs. hitting the wall and bouncing back down on the Premium when the ramp is in down position? Is it a thing to intentionally disable the ramp movement and lock it in the "up" position and if so, can you configure it to have the same magnet behavior as the Pro where it throws the ball down magnetically? I've read of some people locking it due to technical issues, not sure if it's also a preference issue.

Thanks!
