Quoted from gouveia:

Here's a photo of mine. It was a spare piece of plastic I shaped with a dremel and belt sander. It works 100% and is invisible in the game.
[quoted image]

This is likely the best solution. What I intended to do to mine but I gave the ninja a try first. Ninja fix is a HUGE improvement but I still get airballs. It does reduce the frequency of stuck balls in that flat spot though.

Question: In the slow motion video I took the ball is rolling really high up on the lane wall there. Does that cover solution cause the ball to rattle through and slow down or reject? Or does the ball get through that smooth and fast?

I mentioned before I'm lazy (busy really). Anyone want a couple bucks? Pop up a pre cut and drilled part in the store and I'll buy it. I'll pay extra if it matches the yellow translucent plastic protectors available out there...

In fact, those making the plastic protectors, adding this part in your kits would be amazingly awesome.

Does the ball hit the plastic cover and bounce down?

#7703 1 year ago

Honestly, I have no idea. I only know that it looks good and works perfectly. It registers every time and is really smooth. But I'm not the first one to come up with this. There have been earlier posts on this thread like this one that gave me the idea:

I made a similar piece and only found it about 50% effective on our game. Just doesn’t keep the ball down enough. Maybe fudging the switch more would have helped, but the pad on the rail has been 100% effective without any switch mods for us.

It seems my machine isn't the norm but I haven't had a single loop shot not register from out of the box. I dropped the upper flipper strength to around 200 which I always do with new sterns and haven't had a problem.

My wife kind of thought this was silly, but I was able to get Ed Robertson to autograph my Rush LE box cut-out tonight at the BNL show in Detroit. Now I just need Dirk and Lerxst.

My Drum Clock keeps resetting the time to GMT. I assume that it pulls the time from my the Internet via my WiFi. Is there a Time Zone setting that I'm missing so that it stays on Central Time?

It is the 4th of July

I wanted to thank AUKraut of WilliPinball Mods for modifying his dice flasher cover for me. The pair now fit on the left side under the drum sticks. (He designed it to remove some material from the bottom of the dice.) Thanks again.

The NinjaCamp mod for the interloop are amazing. Works perfectly and a very easy to install. Here are a couple of photos.

Got my Premium on Friday.

This may be the first time I review a pinball machine and give it 10/10. Just amazing.

It's a fun game and I strongly recommend adding the expression lighting as the song choreography and effects make the game even more amazing! Actually liking the music helps too - I enjoy both playing and listening to my RUSH more than my GnR.

I look forward to your review!

Too bad they are not Available Yet...The Expression lights

Finished Cygnus Book 1 for the first time last night. That final shot is awesome, memories of 'destroying the ring' on LOTR for sure.

Yep (unfortunately) - one of the reasons I went for an LE on this game. If I had a Premium, I'd definitely add them as soon as they become available though.

Not me didn't have 11k to spend on a Pinball Machine so bought a Pro which is awesome i do wish i had the Clock but there are Mods out there for that so i can Wait for the Lights.. But what i have noticed in the thread All Issues are with the LE and the Premium not too many with the Pro mine was made on 4-20-22...

It doesn't hold a ball in the center of the time machine and you have to shoot it out, does it?

#7718 1 year ago
Quoted from gouveia:

I made one for my machine. Works perfectly!

Do you have a pic of it per chance?

#7719 1 year ago

It's at the bottom of the last page. But here's another shot from above.

Quoted from flynnibus:

If you mean the upper loop shot, there is no fix from stern at this point. Use the ninjamod one or do it yourself by putting about 3/8” wide material along the top edge of the outside ball guide. Furniture foot pad material cut into a strip works fine.
You will want to get the side scoop and main acoop fixes from the original owner

Thank You

I just played rush pro at a local barcade to try and help me pick my next game. It was a fun game- I enjoyed it more than stranger things and mando pro. Only problem
Was the playfield which seemed to have an issue- maybe clear coming off? It’s a really new game but I’m
Just a little concerned about longevity of the pf

I bet the Balls are damaged.Around here that Machine probably has a ton of plays.

You either have to use Insider Connected, and leave the machine connected to WiFi at all times, or, if you don't use WiFi for updates, just pull the USB WiFi adapter, and your clock will keep proper time. That's what I did, and no problems.

Quoted from Wicked-Flip:

The pop bumper ring should be fixed on new runs and a new part issued for everyone else.
About that ring... curious what you all have done to fix that?

I got tired of waiting for Stern to send me the replacement they promised (they did send a replacement after about a month but it was cut on the wrong angle and when I told them & showed them it didn't work, they told me they weren't going to make the correct part). I dremeled mine and it works perfectly now.

use them on all of my stern games for at least a few years. Due to how soft the clear coat is.

Way too much work to install one of those for how well I look after my games.

Never installed one, or played a game with one…do you see any difference in game play?

Yes, then you knock it out.

#7736 1 year ago

i added a little blindspot mirror mounted on a L bracket to see the inner loop lights. Sorry, the picture isn't the best. I couldn't get a good angle on the mirror. You can see all of the lights once you have it positioned properly. You can also see my crudely cut piece of lexan that helps prevent the ball from not registering the switch.

Quoted from Hayfarmer:

You can put a washer under the 2 bolts on the left side of scoop, it will direct the ball to the right flipper 99% of the time. Also, twist the scoop counter clockwise, from the top, to aim it more towards right flipper when tightening the bolts.

TWO-WASHER FIX WORKS! After taking out the Stern Black Horse Blinder fix and replacing with the NinjaCamp scoop protector, my scoop eject was ejecting all over the place... mainly to the left flipper but 10% of the time to the right flipper or SDTM. I tried the "loosen, turn clockwise, & tighten" the scoop but it was only slightly better. I tried one washer and no luck. But with a washer on under each screw (between the wood and the scoop) on the left side of the scoop and, like magic, it shoots to the right flipper every time. Thanks for the tip Hayfarmer!

Quoted from dannunz:

Has anyone made a plastic piece to stop air balls around the loop from the upper flipper? I’m only getting loops to register 50% of the time due to the ball catching air

I spent the afternoon designing and test fitting an orbit shield plastic if you or anyone would like to try that solution.

If you drop upper flipper strength none of these inner loop mods are necessary. All the shots are still gettable on lower strength and game flows much better.

Quoted from John1210:

You mentioned that you dropped your upper right flipper power to around 200, but the default is 192.

Mine makes it with lowered strength. But each game sometimes plays a little different. Just my experience with mine. Some games obviously need more tweaking. Just another possible method to improve gameplay.

Apologies. I have a bunch of games and usually thats the drop i make. Whatever rush was i subtracted 20 or so. Satisfied?

Are you guys trying to get the original boards fixed in the meantime? At least get your games up and running again.

Stern sent me a new Node 10 board after contacting distributor. Easy swap but remember to set the dip switches to match old board. Fixed it. Its impossible to fix old board. The chip cooked.

That’s not CC, and I’d guess that Pro had little or no CC to begin with. I hope that operator opened a case with their distributor.

Quoted from Maken:

What do you mean by “abused” — neglected? I’ve seen a lot of neglected location Sterns and none of them ever looked like that. That normal kind of neglect usually responds well to cleanup with Novus2 and wax. But that playfield is toast.
