I was just informed that my LE is shipping to me. Yes!
My distributor told me that about half of his allocation shipped from Stern yesterday. No clue if mine is in that batch or not, but hopefully I'll be able to pick up mine next week!
Quoted from Pinplayer1967:Same. I feel for operators who invested in this game only to have to waist time fixing the issue daily. Stern better step up to the plate and fix this for everyone who has these issues. I’ve left my protector on at the recommendation of my distro who said Stern won’t warranty if it’s removed. I now have like a razor like cut into the wood, the new protector better overlap this damage.

I'm sure the replacement will be at least the same size if not bigger than the old. Should be ok.
Seems like every new Stern pin has an issue - distro was pretty upfront in admitting that shouldn't be - but they do.

Except for this and the Mando diverter, the last dozen or so releases have been pretty solid.
Quoted from Hayfarmer:On your pro, is the chipping being caused by the scoop deforming, or did it start after the scoop had to be removed. I have an le coming and am more than concerned. Thx
It was caused by the scoop deforming. I think but it almost seems like the playfield is just faulty. I pulled the two posts off to remove the protector and that spot was already rubbed away. It's like the protector acted as a razor blade and just shaved off the surface a bit. You can't even feel the spot tho so it's like the art/clear layer is so thin it just disappeared. Mylar was installed immediately after the protector was removed and hasn't become worse since. I recommend removing the protector and installing mylar folded over the lip immediately even though that's not supported by Stern. The protector will destroy your playfield. Jury is out if Stern will address it. In my experience they've been great at fixing any issues I've had in the past so I have high hope.

Thx for the honest response, hope stern takes care of your issue .
Nervous about the protectors!! I am shocked at some of the pictures. Are the new LEs coming out fixed or not? They cannot send out Le games otherwise in my opinion. You can’t play the game. Ball gets stuck. I had to walk away from Rush pro to many times as the ball was stuck. Anyone contact Stern about this matter this week? Not acceptable. I will pass on game unfortunately and wait for premium. It not worth the headache! I’ll flip the LE!

JPC211245 posted a week ago that he has been speaking with Tim Sexton, who said the LE's had the fix. Should be good to go! I have an LE coming in a week or so hopefully. I am in California so it will be a bit longer for us than others who are closer to Illinois.

Congrats!!
So exciting. Can't wait for some pictures.
Quoted from aamauzy:7 minutes and no pics of the new scoop?!
Jokes - congrats! That's so exciting.
Unfortunately I'm on my own today so no help with getting legs on etc so might be staying in the box for a bit

If there is a will....there is a way! Look at it as a challenge! I will check back in an hour to see if you are done.

All you need is a stool. Moved a NIB DP Premium into my basement and set it up solo yesterday. Not too difficult once you get the hang of it.
Quoted from insight75:I'm paid in full!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOO excited!
Thought all distributors took full payment for LEs on release day - I've been paid in full since then. Is that not the norm for LEs?

Depends on the distributor - mine did as well. I think more are doing this to discourage flipping or "selling" your pre-order spot.

For the love of God, someone in Indiana get over there to help!
I was thinking about it - at least Stern acknowledged the protector is a problem. Unlike JJP who would've just said it's a feature.
Seconded.
And MOVE IT PEOPLE! Pivot!

I will be there as fast as possible too much snow coming to make the trip today
Quoted from NashtyFunk:Dumb question, y'all don't all unbox pins by yourselves?
I did. Just had my son help me with the stairs.

Most important skill of pin ownership, followed closely by learning how to correctly use a soldering iron.

My son is coming from out of state. If I unboxed without him I'd be in his doghouse basement for a good while...

LOL - still working on that soldering iron!

Nice #301. I have Led Zeppelin LE number 301.
Quoted from bouche03:[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
that's the fix?
Cut off the inside tabs that were bending inward toward each other and clamp down on the top with some extra metal. Interesting..
Quoted from SonOfaDiddly:that's the fix?
it looks different. Its like theres extra metal on top of it keeping it flush to the playfield?
Quoted from Diamond:Nice #301. I have Led Zeppelin LE number 301.
#301 in the hands ,the 1st LE delivered to a civilian ?
Looks like they used the same scoops, even - there's still the marks on the sides where the inside flaps would have hung from.
Easy to modify in the field, I guess, unless the existing scoop is to mangled to flatten.
with that extra pressure on both sides covering a decent amount of surface area I would think it would be hard to mangle that scoop now
Quoted from John-Floyd:I was told It is now fixed with a new version starting with the LE Run
Well ?Wheres the photos ?What number ?
I’m not crying. You’re crying. It’s beautiful.
Looks G L O R I O U S

Heck, it takes quite a few people to help drink all the beer

Looks like it will work - Tabs coming up are the biggest issue, blocks the ball.
Quoted from bouche03:[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Beautiful
And I love the Tragically Hip also, I'm originally from Kingston!
Quoted from bouche03:If I could figure out how to post videos I have a few of those too
First of all, thanks so much for the pics. Greatly appreciated.
You can upload them to Youtube and then post a link here. That is the easiest way to do it.
How does the side armor look in person?
