Quoted from CUJO:

I picked up my Rush Scoop protector kit tonight from my Stern dealer for my Rush Pro who receive them in today.
The rubbers on it aren't blue anymore. They came on it as black so not quite as ugly IMHO.
I also have the Ninja Camp protector I got on Wednesday and now deciding which one to install.
Has anyone here installed the latest Stern protector kit Stern just released yet?
If so, your thoughts?
I am still leaning on just installing the NinjaCamp one I got in grey and holding on to the Stern as a spare or conversation piece.

I'd stick the Stern one in the drawer and see how a NinjaCamp or Cliffy goes in there over time instead.

Did you get the switch upgrade kit for the subway, too? The dist is sending me both and said Stern is sending them out together...

I had a 6-hour drive today, so listened to Rush for 5 hours straight. Clockwork Angels is amazing, but I liked Snaked and Arrows even more. “Feedback” was also a lot of fun, even though it’s all 60’s covers. So much more to be discovered!

Quoted from upsfeedr:

Rip off maybe but I’ll never open it. Plus I bought it on Amazon. Backstage shipping sucks.

??? It was 10 bucks cheaper on Backstage with free shipping.

It sounds much better when you open it, btw...

#5154 1 year ago

Any word on the accent lighting accessory?

My premium is due in this April batch and I'm game for the light show.

#5155 1 year ago
Quoted from Black_Knight:

This is a 20 minute fix. You r doing something wrong.

Maybe 30 minutes if you drop one of the black spacers into the scoop.

Don't ask...

backstage takes for ever to ship it took 3 weeks to get 3 t-shirts plus with amazon if i have any issues i can return it backstage is a pain..

Thank you for posting this interview.
Very genuine people - top notch.

No switch. Is there one needed for the pro?

#5159 1 year ago
Quoted from CUJO:

No switch. Is there one needed for the pro?

Ah, pro. No. Just Prem/LE. Pro doesn't have a physical ball lock in the mini-subway.

Install the ninja. Put the stern aside

Quoted from Mookie:

Just put Ninjacamp's double scoop
on , took me 4 hours. I rate it a 6 out of 10 difficulty for some one who knows how to use a tools half decent.
A pro might give it a 3 out of 10 difficulty and do it in under 2 hours.
Thank you for the Fix Ninjacamp!
Works as described** [quoted image]

That seems like a lot of time to install the mod. Were your posts really difficult to unscrew with tools on both sides?

#5162 1 year ago
Quoted from Aniraf:

That’s a 15 minute job tops.

Quoted from Black_Knight:

This is a 20 minute fix. You r doing something wrong.

Agreed....but then again I've had this mech off & on so many times I can do it in my sleep.....

#5164 1 year ago

Another Ninja protector fan here. The material seems great, and installation was super easy. It fit perfectly. Only time will tell how it holds up, but we already know it holds up better than the Stern solutions to date.

#5165 1 year ago

Has anyone got over 100 games on the Ninja protector? Perhaps show some pics of the scoop edge and how it's holding up, be good to reference from.

What I want to know is which one of you is the toolbag who posted this on Facebook disparaging this mod? How about you install the damn thing first and see how it works before you film yourself playing with it like a frigging slinky?

We actually have a video on the product page of us playing with one like it was a slinky, we also mention there that its 3D printed, and what the material is used. I feel like we were pretty upfront about the nature of the product

#5168 1 year ago
Quoted from Valorguy:

Anyone know where I can get a clear plastic shooter lane protector? MezelMods is out (or hasn't had them yet).....

Secret. Use a sling shot half moon mylar from pinballlife. Less than buck. Simply stick on and cut a slot for the switch with exacto blade. All u need.

#5169 1 year ago
Quoted from AUKraut:

Agreed....but then again I've had this mech off & on so many times I can do it in my sleep.....

To clarify, It was 20 minutes on my Pro. My LE is still in the box, so that one may take 30.

Quoted from schudel5:

Maybe 30 minutes if you drop one of the black spacers into the scoop.
Don't ask...

Well I did that, but I had ordered a couple for my Mando when I dropped those. Eventually they show up in the cab and you can recycle them for the next machine.

Test fitting these Mezel mods that arrived today.

Ordering a set of these but wondering if the bulbs are removable. Not a fan, but maybe they look better in person?

Like the Mezel super jackpot ramp plastic replacement, just wish the red text stood out a bit more is all. Perhaps it does and just doesn’t show as well in photos.

On the plus side, having Clay call it "amazing" in response might make the original post valuable for the ninjas.

You’ll probably make it to 2999 and then it explodes into dust!

The questions about the ninja scoop protector are getting silly.

They made a very good product to protect your investment .

$50-60 for a quick fix piece of mind is more then worth it

Where does the switch go?

#5183 1 year ago
Quoted from indypinhead:

Where does the switch go?

If you have an LE or Premium, the 'trough switch" kit replaces the existing Far Cry ball lock switch in the subway with a more reliable design. I've had my real ball lock on ALWAYS instead of the default NEVER since 3/9 and have only had a few hiccups, but others say theirs sucks. This fixes that. Check here for documentation and install video by Jon Borg.

Yes. This is a curved piece of steel. Will be installing all of this today. I'll let you know...

I got the Ninja scoop protector in. Appears smooth. SOOOO much quieter which I was not expecting. I did not realize how much I was hearing it over the music on my LE

Installed the Ninja Camp protector today. Took me about an hour. I had the black plastic spacers fall into the scoops. Not easy to fish out. Lol! The scoop is working great but every other eject is draining. Not every one…which is odd.

I guess my question is do we know what is happening to the playfield under the scoop protector at the front or sides? I am afraid the playfield may be getting beat up underneath but you just can’t see it.

My wife also made me my pincup design as well. Came out awesome. Love it.

Fwiw, I just installed the two Stern kits per Stern directions. It wasn't hard at all. The only funky part was dialing in the new trough switch before putting in the new screw that holds it in place. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I guess the way the switch was, it was being depressed without a ball. Maybe spend an extra 5 seconds double checking that before loosely attaching the two opto screws closest to the kicker and note that they're going into plastic, so a light touch on them. Have only played a few games so far, but will try more tonight.
For those worried about their playfield with version 2 protectors (with the forks on top), my experience was that in over 516 games (lifetime 558) my playfield had a very light scratch on the left edge of the front scoop on top of the thin black outline. It's under the new protector now (or any you'd choose to install except possibly Mantis if you did no top protection.) The pictures show the scratch and the rest of that stuff is wax that got under the protector. Pics are a bit out of order, there are 2 of the old fork and protectors. Rest are new. Obviously your mileage may vary.

I dont think the ninja is causing the stdm, more likely tightened harder on one-side or scoop twisted a bit. When I installed mine, I added 2 small washers to the 2 left screws and twisted scoop hard left while tightening. Every eject hits flipper now

Video on the install scared me but glad to hear it’s not too bad. How long did it take? On a different subject since you mentioned wax, I’ve been wondering wether to wax the entire playfield or just the would and not wax over the embedded lights? Thanks for any insight!

Easy. It’s several pieces that just slip over the original with two sided tape.

The left 2 as looking at it from bottom. Top and bottom

Hey guys. Having an issue with my LE. In between balls I can’t walk away from the pin. It will go into a ball search then launch ball into play. Is this an issue with the recent code update?
