I'm telling ya fellas, fall in love with gaming all over again and try out the PSVR system. My daughter talked me into getting the system and I was hesitant, the same way I felt about 3D gaming. Thought it might be a gimmick, but I'm telling ya, once you get it you will want to play the games all over again. I remember the first time I played a VR game. The next day I went to Gamestop and bought as many VR games I could find because I wanted that experience again.

My strong suggestions would be these games in no particular order

DOOM VR. The creatures are in your face and it's Doom. Nuff said!
BATMAN VR Short experience and kinda reminds me of the Spiderman ride at Universal Studios.
ASTROBOT Best VR experience. Reminds me of Mario 64 in VR. It will have you looking all over the place to find your lost buds. You just have to play this and thank me later.
PERSISTENCE Tough game. You're alone on this space station and will die a lot, but you have to be persistent. (Like the title) but once you get the hang of it, it's really tough to put down until you beat it.
FARPOINT Get the VR gun and land on a planet shooting creatures and bugs, trying to find your lost scientists. The cut scenes will make you feel you're right there, especially the opening.
RUSH OF BLOOD (has already mentioned) Take a roller coaster ride thru a first person shooter carnival madhouse. Awesome!!
RESIDENT EVIL 7 Buy the normal game and play it in VR. BEST RE experience hands down!
STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT Add-on to the original PS SW Battlefront. Lets you play a short escort mission of a Prelude to Rogue One. Jump into an x-wing cockpit and let me know you're first experience of having a star destroyer flying over your head.

These are just my favorites.

Honorable mention to Skyrim VR (which I haven't played yet, so I can't judge) I heard the Rainbow 6 game is awesome, but I don't do multiplayer because I suck!

Pros An experience like no other.
Games are usually cheaper.
More developers signing on.
Some games can make you dizzy, but I find sitting down and playing them is the best. I've never got sick, so that's why I listed this under Pro. Plus, I'm 57 years old and can handle it LOL

Cons Some titles are only DLC, which I hate. The games mentioned above are not. I'm old fashioned though because if I can't hold it in my hands, then I don't want it (go ahead and insert "That's what she said" if needed) I like collecting and having a hard copy library of games, not something downloaded.
The graphics are a tad blurry. Best comparison is what a blu ray looks like compared to a DVD. That being said, it's still hardly noticeable, especially in a heated gunfight and battle or running like crazy from creatures wanting you for a little snack.

Hope this helps and give VR a try.

I just got an email from Sony congratulating me for beating God Of War Ragnorok. Apparently I put in 91 hours in beating the game, but it was so fun and addicting. Some of the those mini-bosses had me raging, but all in all I really enjoyed the game. I love exploring and finding hidden areas and this game gives you so much even after the end credits with extra kudos given to the voice actors. Great series to play IMO and never gets old.

This is the first game in awhile I actually felt like I got my money's worth in terms of longevity of gameplay. Well done Sony Studios!

Quoted from LouMatt:

I played Gotham Knights...it was nice being back in the Gotham City universe... I really liked the Arkham games back in the day, but this game isn't as deep honestly, or have all the crazy side missions that Arkham Knight had.
Also started playing Calisto Protocol...it's a sort of space horror shooter game. It's very hard honestly, kind of surprised....not my usual sort of game, but it's interesting.

Callisto Protocol in a good game and graphically is one of the best on the PS5 now. I'm a HUGE Dead Space fan and this game satisfies my itch, but for some reason it's just missing something. I think my main complaint is the game is waaaayyyy too short, especially after playing GOW Ragnorok. I was hoping for a longer game, especially after the price hike. The game is really not that scary and relied more on jump scares than anything else. Never felt the dread of a creature stalking me like I felt with the Alien xenomorph in Alien Isolation or the Tyrant creature in the RE series.

The game is hard to me and I had to level down my challenge to easy. I wouldn't have done it, but most of the combat relies on you to dodge the hits and I couldn't get use to making the move. When I played the game for the second time thinking I got it down....NOPE....the enemies still got me. Word of advice. Level up the riot gun and purchase a lot of it's ammo. Love the shotgun blasts and the extra BOOM you get when you hit the R1 button while firing the gun. It acts like a 4 shell blast when you press the trigger and goes thru the ammo fast, but it will put the hurt on any of the boss characters. I tried the other weapons who had the same feature, but the riot gun shotgun is by far the best.

It was a good purchase and I did enjoy playing the game and glad it's in my collection. This game, along with God of War:Ragnorok kept me away from my pinball tables. Can't wait until the Dead Space remake comes out next month. Already ordered the special edition version of the game with steelbook and Isaac helmet.

Got a PS5 a couple of weeks ago and loving it! Havent had a playstation since Playstation 2. Ended up getting the $120 plus plan for the year because my daughter was wanting all these games and it just made sense to get the plus with the game catalog. Its def a great deal. My wife was not on board at first on getting a PS5 but now she cant stop playing Hogwarts Legacy. I have a hard time finding time to play since she is on it all the time. Makes me happy though! I beat Resident Evil 4 Remake last night. Fantastic game. In fact, I have beaten the original 8 times since it came out in 2005. It's one of my favorite games. They did an amazing job on the remake by making it familiar but making it totally different. I would recommend this game 100% to everyone if you havent played it. Just a great game all around. I am probably going to get Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor next. So many games to catch up on! I havent had a system in years so its fun getting back into playing video games.

PS5 is a great system and you made a great choice. The new Xbox is nice, but I enjoy the PS5 better. The games just look great and the controller is WAY better than the Xbox controller.

If you liked RE4 Remake, you need to get the new Dead Space Remake. It's a game of the year contender, just like the RE4 Remake and just as good. Also, if you like Star Wars, the newest Jedi Survivor game is out and it's really good. It got great scores, but it had a lot of bugs when it was first released but thankfully the developers just released a patch that fixed the issues. Great game and if you like it you need to get it's prequel called Jedi Fallen Order.

If you're a big Resident Evil fan like me, then you owe it to yourself to get the other RE remakes 2 and 3. They look and play like RE4 and control the same, so you should be able to jump right in. They might already be in the Playstation Store, but if not you can pick them up relatively cheap since they were made for the PS4.

You're in for a treat because there's a lot of GREAT games out there now. Try out any of the Uncharted, God Of War, Tomb Raider, and The Last of Us games as well. Don't forget Astrobot. Cool Super Mario Bros. type of game that is just a blast to play. I got it free when I purchased my PS5.
