What's the next title? American pickers, storage wars?? What a waste of money if anyone paid for the eod license.

#14602 7 years ago
Quoted from bigduke6:

Just a guess' but maybe he is looking for information. He can't get any info or paper work from Kevin about what the EoD licensing was worth or what was paid out so he's asking other manufactures for a reasonable dollar amount to be paid?

I would think that if they wanted to know what the license was worth, they'd just ask Savage, etc for copies of the contract and details of what they actually got paid. Given the context, they can certainly subpoena records from anyone Kevin was doing business with.

Not to beat a dead horse, but that doesn't say anything about what the license is "worth." All it would indicate is what may have been paid for it.

This place loves juicy details just as much as the stereotypical hair salon. You know if the info is available it would be accepted here.

It is unbelievable, seems like alot of money going out. If the pirate kept good books he might have been safe. If, if , if...is his problem now. 500k in the bank with that much money going out before production seems insane.

Two casinos nearby.... I don't believe even Federal courts can get at player club records of Tribal casinos.

I am sure the fine people off the business world today only run 1 book....and I continue to work for the man and they just take my taxes. Again too much! Who's selling?

Quoted from T-800:

Maybe so, maybe no. Honestly, something is worth exactly what someone will pay for it. I doubt any other pinball company would have touched that IP at all, so I think it probably WAS worth whatever Kevin paid. Or it was worth nothing in the context of pinball.

Of course, the real question before the courts is: what money did Kevin spend, what did he spend it on, and was that purchase 'legit' or did he 'spend' the money as a cover to 'hide' it? So the 'worth' of the IP is kind of irrelevant - what really matters is what he paid, so the court can know where the money went (as much as is possible).

#14611 7 years ago

I don't care if the IP is worth $1, I don't want Kevin to have it anymore.

Funny, any time i complain about pins being sold to horrendous prices, i get to hesr that the market dictate the price and it is worth what someone want to pay

Correct.......apple's & orange's.

I'd pay $1 for the license. I would make EoD T-shirts. Figure potential profits in the dozens of dollars!

#14615 7 years ago

Hey Keith I've tried to contact you multiple times to make sure im still part of this lawsuit. Please contact me.

I'd rather see fat hairy old guys walking around shirtless than be forced to look at that "artwork" on somebody's shirt

That's why you do a "Pinball Is Hard" shirt and throw everything on it. Gremlins, RAZA, Alice in Wonderland, Predator, not-Mythbusters, and anything else I'm forgetting. Just don't get caught. :p

Clearly didn't get dry bummed on a predator pre order then, huh?

Quoted from Russo121:

No, but I have been the victim of identity theft with a fraudulent tax return filed in my name and my social security account fraudulently accessed.

So watching this particular thief get taken through the process is serving as a proxy.

Who's gonna sue? Every one of those is someone who took the money and didn't deliver, and none of them have money for lawyers.

And yes, I'd buy that shirt, even though I was lucky enough to not have the money to go in on any of these cluster-<bleeps> and cons.

Also, don't forget Magic Girl and Ben Heck's Zombie Adventureland (before it was RAZA, it had Ben's name on it).

Yes, I'd happily buy that shirt.

Though it always reminds me of this shitty Predatorgate where I've lost a lot of money I've decided to make lemonade out of lemons. The old Back alley Side Toppers look good on my RZ; hope you like it ).

I always thought it made the machine look like it had ear rings. Does look good on that machine though.

I'm really surprised more people are not discussing the cabinet manufacturer.

Not really any new news to discuss about them. The cabinet guy is a Pinsider and has posted in this thread, perhaps he will opine at some point.

#14632 7 years ago
Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

A default judgement has been entered in the associated case against Paul Maletich/Virtuapin.
They've been ordered to immediately surrender a CNC machine and a large format printer, with a money judgement for $155,000. Whatever the CNC and large format printer get sold for can be applied to that total judgment amount.
It was also ordered that Virtuapin turn over all documentation relating to any transfers between SkitB and Virtuapin.

While I agree there is not much to discuss, this seemed like an amazing development. If that money is recovered, that could go a long way towards bringing people closer to whole.

Not too much to opine about when it becomes obvious that they got caught being full of shit.

#14634 7 years ago

Cmon guys....first rule of legal defense is keep your damn mouth shut. I wouldn't expect a peep from Virtuapin, especially on an open forum. They're smart for remaining silent while under legal proceedings. Now being involved with Kevin....not so smart.

Agreed, I don't see him giving up 155k. Figure the CNC machine, printer and various accoutrements might fetch $20k on the used/auction circuit, I dpn't see this particular defendant forking over $135k of personal funds. This will not end well.

Everybody looking forward to St. Patrick's Day tomorrow?

I can think of someone who isn't?

#14640 7 years ago
Quoted from c508:

Everybody looking forward to St. Patrick's Day tomorrow?

I'd be looking more forward to it if it were in a courthouse and we got to hear Kevin thank the Baliffs for their utmost respect as they cuffed & stuffed him.

#14641 7 years ago

Only objective for law enforcement tomorrow is to make $, not give it to a pirate.

He screwed up by doing business with Kevin, then he screwed up by opening his mouth and vouching for him with absolutely no knowledge whether Kevin had the license or not, then he screwed up by ignoring the summons.

It's probably more to do with laying low so he doesn't have to answer to the people who were ripped off than being smart.

#14644 7 years ago

I love when old people try to meme. You almost had it.

Or it has to do with how he was paid, and the amounts of each of those payments... cause looking at it from the outside, es no bueno.

As you get older, you'll realize not to let stuff like this get to you. You'll also be able to look at a person, listen to them talk and size up the ones who are lying thieves that shouldn't be trusted with your money. Exactly how I did at a certain seminar.
