The judge is speaking to him like he is a child......
Quoted from BrewinBombers:Who's Mr. Nathanson?
he's the lawyer acting against Kulek, and quite cool
I'm listening in pieces during commercials while the ole lady watches her show. This is killing me it is so good.
Mr. Nathenson should never have to buy a beer at a pinball event - EVER
Quoted from KeithinMI:Ok. It's Friday. Which means, in my world, only 2 more work days left in the week after today!
Great job at the hearing Keith!
Quoted from RobT:Now we start taking bets on whether Kevin shows up on Friday the 27th.
He will not be able to get in touch with his lawyer ... He set the table already.
Did he really collect 1.2 million dollars? Did all 250 buyers pay in full before this thing fell apart?
I finished listening to it as well.
A little happiness is in order, just remember to keep it all classy.
Quoted from MrBally:I learned a new word from this; accoutrements.
That's going to be on pinside for a while now. It's my favorite word for game mods now, lol.
Can any pinside lawyers explain what Keith meant when he said that Kevin's lawyer was likely filing an "AP" on this case? Does that have something to do with why Kevin can't get a hold of his lawyer?
Too bad Federal Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes retired (was SE Michigan based) He was a real piece of work during hearings and would have not been so understanding nor easy on the Debtor.
He would stop people mid sentence when he detected lies, conflicting statements, would put evidence up on huge monitors in the courtroom as soon as he noticed a con, excuse me; CONflict between a piece of evidence and something said. Priceless to witness.
Quoted from Wolfmarsh:Kevin's lawyer was likely filing an "AP" on this case? Does that have something to do with why Kevin can't get a hold of his lawyer?
An adversary proceeding (or “AP”) is a lawsuit filed separate from but related to the bankruptcy case. It is an action commenced by one or more Plaintiffs filing a Complaint against one or more Defendants and resembles a typical civil case. The Plaintiff is the person, partnership or corporation initiating the lawsuit. The Defendant is the person, partnership or corporation being sued. Certain types of disputes cannot be handled in the bankruptcy case, but instead require the commencement of an adversary proceeding. These types of actions are found in Rule 7001 of the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure.
Quoted from jasonp:Can someone find out why he has court in the Toledo area?
I'm surprised that the Judge didn't ask him about that.
Keith brought up all the dirt that was dug up such as games at his home, games on route. Obviously all the digging people have done was worthwhile and helpful.
Quoted from Taxman:...
Mr. Nathenson should never have to buy a beer at a pinball event - EVER
Quote of the day !
Quoted from labnip:Quote of the day !
Pretty sure that title goes to the judge:
"May God have mercy on your soul"
Quote of the year !
'You are not to dispose of anything, between now and when you return to Court-maybe just to buy groceries'.
Does a new Tag Heuer watch matter?
Supposedly Kevin had no idea that he could have been arrested or sent to jail until the moment the Judge informed him of that at the hearing.
Yet he talked of the "Internet campaign and hysteria against me" which presumably means that he reads this thread, which also means that he damn well knew of the potential consequences and that a warrant had been issued.
Guy is full of crap.
Damn, I probably just contributed to the "internet campaign and hysteria" against him.
Quoted from chadderack:"Do you have a passport"
"I don't believe so"
Yeah, I'm not sure if I have a passport or enhanced driver's license. I don't believe so.... LLLLMFAO!
Listening between the lines, I don't think [Kevin] has an attorney anymore.
"I don't route pinball, except for that business card someone found... That's an internet conspiracy!"
Quoted from jasonp:Glad to know that the U.S. Marshals are fun to have over at the house.
They're a real Hoot. I've witnessed them raiding a business. Came in with the big trucks, laborers with dollies hauling out all kinds of shit as the actual Marshalls ransacked files and computers, desks.
Fun to have over for sure.
So in summary, the judge basically relayed to Kevin that he needs to comply and supply all the requested documentation by next week, otherwise he won't be going home and will held by the US Marshals for an undetermined period of time. He was also ordered to not destroy any documentation. And lastly, if he leaves the country or general vicinity that he would be in deep water.
That was a very interesting hearing.
