A nearly unmatched performer/writer until the end, and the fact you could always see that he loved what he was doing puts him over the top for me.but...Megadeth is amazing. Big Four for me would be Megadeth, Metallica, Testament, Exodus.
The term "BIG" 4 was stated for the biggest sellers, not for the best bands.
If you'd want to start a list of the BEST 4, here's mine: EXODUS, TESTAMENT, DESTRUCTION and OVERKILL. DEATH ANGEL and the "big 4" are definitely runners-up!
And as I always say: OLD SCHOOL THRASH METAL RULES!!!!

Unfortunately I never had the privilege of catching them live! 
Neither Pantera, but I lost count of how much Exodus shows I attended. One time here in Rio I got to meet and have a nice conversation with Gary Holt, Rick Hunolt and Tom Hunting... Another time Rob Dukes picked my arm, pulled me from the first row and I was "forced" to stage-dive back! 
Last time I caught Exodus live was a couple of years ago in Las Vegas when they were opening for our great King Diamond on his Abigail tour and that was EPIC!
