Ahhh mean street, so many great ones of that album.
Has anyone seen the Appetite For Destruction - Locked N' Loaded Box Set? I would totally get this if I had $999 to drop. I also am not interested in vinyls, but they could totally be resold for profit.

Not me - $1000 is insanity for a SINGLE album. Maybe if it was the original pressing with the first cover, I just can’t bring myself to spend that kind of money. Of course, I am not a huge GnR fan, I’m sure I’d reconsider if I was

No shit! Bat shit crazy.
Watch the moneyed up yuppies snap them up though ...
Good money making scheme for Axl and buddies.
I remember when the box set of Live:binge and purge came out and we were up in arms because it was like $60 or something haha

Is that all it was! Oh man that seems like pennies now. I just paid $100 for the Ride the Lightning vinyl where they messed up the cover printing and it’s all green. That seemed like a fortune!
So excited to see lamb of god again, one of my favorite metal bands! Last time was 2012 @ The sodo Showbox in Seattle, they did not dissapoint. Saw Slayer at Ozzfest around 04 at white river, very badass as well.
If you find yourself at the show hit me up and have a beer.

I seen slayer at an amphitheatre near Seattle at an ozzfest around 2004..was lamb of God on the "B" stage that year?! And slipknot too I think.. but the L.O.G. wall of death was born that year I believe!! Man.. what a show!

Yeah pretty sure that was it! They had just released As The Palaces Burn album. I thought I remember seeing them on the main stage, but that could have been a later ozzzfest. What a show indeed.
While... I'm all about hard rock and metal, sometimes you find weird bands with rock and metal elements, that would never get classified as such. These guys did not one but FIVE albums in 2017 using guitars that they re-fretted themselves. Yeah. Five.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
I'll just mic drop this here...
You may never be the same...
Rearranging my shed/competition pinball zone.
Dug out my boxes of cassette tapes from the early/mid 80s when I used to buy cassettes.
Pretty much every hard rock/metal album that came out I would buy on either vinyl or cassette. Generally vinyl, then I’d tape it to listen to in the car.
Some real blasts from the past in there. Girlschool anyone? How’s about some Warlock? Doro was sooooo hot.

For me, it's Kilbury Unit in Detroit, MI. I've been promoting and booking them at shows for a couple years now.
Check out this video from them playing Full Terror Assault.

Cool.
We only have a little scene here.
My favourite is Subtract. They’ve been quiet for a while but there’s a new album about to come out. Seen these guys a bunch, supporting Lamb of God and other touring bands.
Arguably our biggest rock/metal band is Shihad. They started very much as a Metallica sounding band, but after 30 years gigging, they’ve mellowed out to more of a hard rock.
I saw them last year, they did a special 1 hour set ... and every song was a hit. One of the best sets I’ve seen.
They were signed to an American label in 2010. They were recording their new album in LA when 9/11 happened. The record company said their name sounded too much like Jihad and made them change it. That didn’t go well ... There was a feature film documentary made about them, it was on Netflix.
This song is a banger.

Better looking too, just quietly ...

geez taking me back there RD. yeah subtract have been around for ages, didnt realize mark rees was drumming for them... hes mean as.
as for shihad, i was there for the beginning of them. churn is quite industrial/quasi thrash (screwtop my personal fave). killjoy is crunching power rock. after that they kinda drifted too close to mainstream rock for me. but with the latest FVEY album... well, thats the spiritual successor to killjoy for me
Nice thread!, herés some Swedish bands, though Priest is my favourite metal band.
Mustasch
In Flames

Nuclear Winter
From Buffalo, NY USA. They play in the Buffalo, NY and Rochester, NY area. Will support them as they continue to amaze me at every show I attend.
These guys are young. Lead man is a 17 year old honors student in high school.
Here is the link to their first released song called "Him"
https://nuclearwinterny.bandcamp.com/releases
They will be recording an album at year's end for full release in early 2019.
I wish them all the best and will continue to support them!
Give 'em a listen!
Quoted from manitouguy:Great thread and posts all! Thanks - just went from start to end ... maybe I’ve missed it but has no one discussed Budgie?
Maybe a bit before most of our time I guess?
I know of them, but they don’t have a huge following “down under”. I know they were popular across UK/Europe and Canada ...

I heard that, maybe on Eddie Trunk. I think it was a Todd La Torre interview.
I like Todd La Torres vocals - arguably better than Tates ...

No way Jeoff Tate and Chris Degarmo were Queensryche. The Warning was a epic album, I miss those guys.
Quoted from Lethal_Inc:No way Jeoff Tate and Chris Degarmo were Queensryche. The Warning was a epic album, I miss those guys.
I would agree - Chris DeGarmo maybe more so. He was a big contributor in the songwriting. Of course, the focus will always be on the vocalist, that’s just the way it is.
Those first few albums were epic metal records. Operation Mindcrime is at the top of a lot of “best metal album” lists.
But in the last ten+ years, Tate was taking the band in a softer direction which the rest of the band didn’t like, amd by all accounts was becoming a real jerk, so ultimately they had to get rid of him.
Le Torre has proved a more than capable replacement - the latest albums with him singing are way heavier, and the best music the band has done in 20 years.

I've been on a Black Sabbath w/Dio kick lately. Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules and Dehumanizer. Just got Live Evil on vinyl. Sounds good. I'd never heard this album until now. I was 16 when it came out and I got Speak of the Devil Ozzy lp instead. Picked up Born Again w/Gillan and it's better than I remember. Terrible cover, but the tunes are good. Weird to hear Sabbath w/Gillan but it works. Oh yeah, Bev Bevan of ELO on drums!!!!!!!!! I had this on cassette in high school but I didn't dig it much then.............I do now.
Quoted from pinkid:Terrible cover
What? maybe one of the greatest album covers of all time.
Quoted from Lethal_Inc:No way Jeoff Tate and Chris Degarmo were Queensryche. The Warning was a epic album, I miss those guys.
The Warning was awesome back in the day, but there's no way it would fly today. Todd La Torre is tearing it up, and Michael Wilton is obviously holding his own!
