Just picked up used GnR LE. I'm fairly convinced the glass on here is not invisiglass, as all my other games have it I can just tell as I can very much see my reflection in it & there is no tint. Are there any markers or indicators that differentiate JJP invisiglass form their regular glass?

#24310 1 year ago

Ugh. Yep. I definitely don't have invisiglass on my LE. That sucks. Thanks for posting that for me.

#24315 1 year ago

Seller was understanding & willing to help me pay for new invisiglass. He says he didn't know & I believe him. He's got good reputation here. Maybe the previous owner did it. & it is jersey jack standard glass. Has this been known to happen from the factory?

Now for the fun stuff... I'm open to ideas on settings from those of you who have tinkered a bunch with this game.

I factory reset all settings. Pitch at 2nd line. Thinking about increasing gain on just the music. No bass setting I'd like to add a sub but don't think the game has sub out.
Find it odd the flipper coil strengths are all different by default. Not sure what to do with those settings but I did order those precision flippers (without bearings).
Open to any settings or tweaks anyone might have with gameplay, sound, etc. I feel like this game has great potential just might need dialed in more than other games.

I feel really dumb but I simply don't understand how the skill shot works. Can someone please explain?

#24345 1 year ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

You want the ball to roll over the lit insert sensor WITHOUT hitting the target at the end of the lane and NOT going beyond the insert that's lit you're trying to hit. It's a true skill shot, which is great, but it takes some time to get a feel for, since it requires a soft touch.

Oh damn where are the sensors at? In the inserts? I didn't see any sort of sensor

Gameplay sure is snappy on more on point with the halo precision flippers. Plus they look great on this game.
Also, I enrolled in beta code but now every time I check for update it says "update server can't be reached". Tried like 30 times. I'm still on v1.25. Is this normal?
Also is it normal to get all these errors at startup? It eventually boots but takes longer than it should.

Quoted from LTG:

No. I'd reload the operating system, back up your settings first.
If that doesn't do it, then I'd try a new SSD.
LTG : )

How do you reload the operating system?

#24361 1 year ago

OK I did the full factory reset from USB, I still get those same errors. Mainly relating to USB as in the photo above? Though the USB ports all work fine. I mean I Just updated using the one port, & the other 2 usb ports on the board seem to be working for bluetooth & wifi. Game itself seems ok. What exactly are those error codes trying to tell me though? I'd prefer not to replace the SSD if I don't have to.

#24364 1 year ago

Yeah I'm not noticing any issues really. Other than the beta update download says it will be like 99 hours until it is downloaded. But I'm assuming this just might be a server issue as I have fiber optic & the signal is perfect it says.

#24367 1 year ago

According to Steve Z from JJP (their support has been great for me btw & quick responses)....

"Those are not errors per se, what that shows is that, for example, the game is looking for any usb update stick prior to going to the hard drive for normal boot up, then that times out and the game moves on to the hard drive just as it is supposed to do; none of this is unusual and all of the games do it as part of the boot up sequence. In other situations the programmers have covered up this with a blank screen but on this version of software it is visible during the boot sequence. Nothing to worry about though. Thanks, Steve"

I could use some help. I've been trying to download beta 22 for the past week. After about 6 hours of downloading & various restarts with perfect signal strength & gig fiber optic internet, I'm still only at 1% of the download! For the most part it just stalls. When it does download it is such a miniscule speed that it displays in bytes per second, not even kilobytes!
I'd be willing to connect an ethernet for the update but I can't find ethernet. Does this game have that option? Or do I need a new wifi usb adapter?

#24413 1 year ago
Quoted from VisitorQ:

I had an ethernet cable hooked up to my POTC but remove it after installing WIFI, never looked back. No issues.

I found ethernet port & now download is flying super fast. Might need new wifi adapter.

Quoted from ConstantDrain:

Are y’all able to hit the L ramp with the L flipper after a ball drains down the inner most L inlane? I was able to but now I can not. This all started after placing new rubbers on flipper (titans red). I have adjusted pitch of L flipper and the strength of L flipper and still can not hit that ramp. This makes getting patches more difficult.
Guess I should try some new rubbers. What are y’all using? I also plan on getting some new flippers at the Texas pinball festival. But the flippers that I plan on getting are metal and I worry bout the damaging playfield.
Thanks.

If you are talking about precision flippers you should get them. They won't damage the playfield. They work well on this game.
