I joined the club yesterday. I added the Pinwoofer GT kit & tweeters—> WOW!

I noticed that my Sling bumpers are not firing. Not sure if they ever have since delivery yesterday. In the test coil menu, everything else fires from cycling through the coil tests except the sling bumpers, both left & right do not fire. I checked the wiring to both coils and the 4 leaf switches and all looks good. I traced the connections back through the cabinet. I get sound effects when I hit the slings, but no coil fire manually testing.
I’m about to check the back box connections and fuses before looking over the schematics in the manual. Any troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated because I can’t figure it out. thanks!
Quoted from Pinballomatic:They are on the 20v circuit so it will be the backbox connection almost certainly. J111 blue wires.
You are amazing, thanks for the help. J111 was only half way plugged in. I plugged it in completely and the slings are back. Thanks again!
I had the horizontal servo on my right side spotlight go out. I ordered a replacement emax es 3054 17g 23T servo. However, the metal gear is smaller than the original servo and it doesn’t fit the spotlight base (just spins). Are there different versions of the es 3054?
Quoted from MJW:I bought these from a link someone posted on here. Haven’t had to replace yet.
Hope they are correct

Appears to be the same that I have

I took my dead servo into the hobby shop to match it.[quoted image]
Hi Zaphx. First of all, thanks so much for all your posts here and in the POTC owners thread, they have helped me a bunch!
Looks like I have the same Emax unit. The original servo was HK15148B. These both appear to be the same #’s you listed. Weird thing is that the emax gear is smaller than the HK for my plastic spotlight bracket. I put the emax gear into my bracket and it spins. The original HK unit fits tight and doesn’t spin. I have some Emax servos coming from hobby town as I got the emax servos in the attached pics from eBay. Not sure what’s up. I’m thinking I should go to some local hobby shops and bring the old stuff the match. None of the shops near my house have HK or EMax brands though.

I can’t get a consistent reading showing that one is bigger than the other. They appear to be pretty close.
I the only thing I can’t think of is if the bracket is somewhat stripped, but the original HK15148b does fit well, however I do get a tiny tiny bit of play. The Emax straight spins.

Quoted from zaphX:Are you using the screw that came with the servo?
No, that screw is slightly too big to go through the hole in the bracket. I could use a screw driver and self thread it through, but wasn’t too excited to do so. Maybe heatshrink on the gear and thread the emax included screw through the bracket?

Quoted from PinMonk:If the gears are the same diameter, you're down to teeth size and maybe depth of gear. Are the gears the same height?
Quoted from Mattyk:Could also try some of that white plumbers thread tape
Quoted from DeathHimself:Is it spinning on the splines of the servo itself the horn? You might have to use the servo horn that came with the new servo as they look to have different tooth spline spacing in the photo.
Quoted from zaphX:I wonder if the hole on your bracket got stripped a bit when the original servo died?
I have a spotlight base and a spotlight arm that are stripped out. Has anyone easily got replacements from JJP? I plan on contacting JJP support today. Just wondering the hassle level and turn around time.
Also, Mezel mods is out of stock on the spotlight upgrades. Anyone have those? Will they be available again? Thanks!
Hi All, I have a vertical spotlight issue (right side), but it’s not the servo. When swapping the horizontal and vertical servo plugs, both servos work testing on the horizontal line. I unplugged and replugged the servo input cable into the controller board and no change. Any suggestions? Only weird behavior I observed was that the spotlight oddly trembled on startup the last couple days, it was very slight, but noticeable.
Quoted from MJW:How did you get them to work? Thread size is different. It just lays in there and wont thread . I think this was covered somewhere but I can’t find it.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I have the same issue. The original threads seem much bigger. I’ve used plumbers tape wrapped around the threads several times and this has worked well for me to get a snug fit.
Quoted from MJW:Did you try the larger screw that comes with the servo?
Yes I did, you have to. The screw is a different size from the original.
Quoted from MJW:Ok. Do you used plumbers tape around the outer servo gears ?
Yup, around the servo gear. Enough wraps and it will make a snug fit. I haven’t had an issue since I changed it.
My problem now is that the y-axis wire inputting into the vertical servo seems to be dead.
Quoted from Blackjacker:Email or call Barry at JJP
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:So, I tried 2 different servos today from my local hobby shop. Both looked like they were clones of the original, however, neither fit. The first one had 25 teeth on the gear, where the OEM one had 23. Oops... The second servo had 23 teeth and appeared to be identical, but when I tried it out, the gear was ever so slightly too small and would slip when installed. Anyway, I've now ordered these from Amazon. Let's hope they actually fit. And, i can verify, they aren't too difficult to swap out. Just some small parts to pay attention to.
I found that all the replacement servos I bought and installed had a slightly smaller gear than the original servos. I thought my brackets were slightly stripped, but I got replacement brackets from JJP and the replacement servos gears were too small on the new replacement brackets too. Let me know if any of the servos you get fit perfectly. I’ve changed 3 of the 4 servos and used plumbers tape to account for the gear size difference. All the replacement servos are working great and no issues.
