Quoted from kermit24:

I’m think that Karl moved the guide towards the player so that the ball makes more contact with that rubber ring. I actually moved my guide towards the back of the game and now it always goes in the right inlane.

75% of balls exiting from my upper playfield were draining out the right outlane, even with nudging sometimes, and this was with the ball completely missing the rubber due to the factory rail setup. The rail has some play designed into it for adjustment to prevent this I assume.

Quoted from Yelobird:

GnR is by code design a game that does not Allow you to cradle the ball or the mode ends unlike traditional game play.

During the song modes, yes, but there can be loads of cradling before the song modes during booster multiballs.

Thank you PinMonk for sending out the test equipment. Very much looking forward to seeing the change with fans in play next session and glad to have a solution for JJP games finally!

I pull the VODs for exactly what Skip said. Not a fan of anything having muted audio, and better to pull anything where there's a DMCA chance since Twitch doesn't have the best track record for dealing with DMCA claims. There aren't any live takedowns yet thankfully and hopefully Twitch never reaches that point.

About YouTube uploads, I generally only put the best games up there to not crowd that channel, and try not to post the same game over and over again. For these, unless something extraordinary happens, it's live viewing only.

Quoted from nicoy3k:

- completing mini wizard modes needs to be worth at least 10 million points

JJP's philosophy (my observations based on this and POTC) is you have to do well leading up to the mini-wizard modes in order to earn big points in them. No freebies. Max out your album levels as much as possible. Keep playing songs from the same album, do well in the songs, and get your record to platinum before starting an album mode.

Quoted from zaphX:

Is there a way to defer album modes? The scoop seems to demand it after my first song completes.

Yes! Hold down the action button. Don't shoot the scoop.

Only 1.13/1.14 can do the Delta upgrade from what I read. Any version beyond that must do a full ISO update.

EDIT: See Keefer below. I interpreted the FB post wrong

Quoted from NightTrain:

-Band frenzy: What's the deal here? Collect all band members within a song and it gets you more points???

Yes, you'll earn more points for band member shots during a song when Band Frenzy is running. I thought I read somewhere that the shots are 10x value but honestly have no idea, just that Band Frenzy = MORE POINTS

Quoted from NightTrain:

-Is there a song you have found that is easier to play and still worth good points? What's the best song to play for high scores?

I've found Estranged the easiest to consistently get high scores on. This is due to the long length of the song and how shots are mostly the ramps/targets. With multiball running, it isn't too difficult to continually hit the targets to complete the level and add another ball. Scores can get massive if you level up often and make it through the entire song.

Quoted from NightTrain:

-What's the deal with the patch "Melissa's Candy"? It says it spots her tour item? What is that and what good is it?

This is the only tour item you can't get from tour shots. Increases the song level I believe, as do the other tour items. No clue about the specific value it increases.

Quoted from NightTrain:

-What's the deal with the T-Shirt patch? It says it gives you an additional bonus item for the rest of the game. What is a bonus item and what is it good for?

Gives you another line on the bonus item countdown. Honestly, I'm not going for it much unless I pair it with the Poster patch so that the meter falls more slowly when cradling in songs.

Quoted from zaphX:

What are "super pops?" Is it just a multiplier on the pop hits like the guitar pick patch?

More points in bumpers! Don't know specifically how much it increases by, or if it helps out to increase pop values in songs or not.

I haven't done any glass-off experiments on the game yet. Maybe the time has come.

#7571 3 years ago

Increases song values and their specific shots during songs, or at least I think that's what they do. I always collect all the band member patches on every game first. Always.

Again, need glass-off testing to confirm everything, or for someone from JJP to spill the beans on the mystical workings behind everything.

Quoted from fooflighter:

I watched a little of IE pinballs stream and he was going up with the right flipper...he did note that he lowered his flippers slightly from factory (flopped)...similar to Jurassic Park I'm assuming for making those side shots easier...

I put the flippers inline with the lane guides, not flopped, and I did it because I wanted to stop the backhand left ramp shot and to give more power to the orbit shots. Overall the shots simply feel better to me this way.

Quoted from kermit24:

Come on you just wanted to shatz the AMP lane….

Ha! I've actually stopped exploiting the unlimited booster multiballs via the AMP lane. Those patches are very low on my priority list these days. Keeps the game more interesting only having one shot at them before each song.

Quoted from Eskaybee:

Lastly, I remember Eric or Karl mentioning in a stream that there’s other band member items to be collected in the game. I found Duffs bass strap, you get it for a successful left loop > upper flipper loop combo. I’m not sure what the award gives you, nor do I know how to get others’, but I’m open ears.

Just keep shooting tour shots and you'll get all the items, and they seem much more beneficial to song levels than anything else. I find that if I've made it to tour multiball I'm generally in the 125+ song level, if not higher. I'm now prioritizing this before my first song, using the booster multiballs to safely shoot tour shots as much as possible. After some patch collection I'm at MAX song level for the 2nd song set, 3rd at the latest.

Still need to do a GnR Science stream to try to pick apart the individual details.
