is there a virtual ball lock in the SE? curious how locking balls for each band members works on the SE
Is there a definitive fix for the ball travel being interrupted between the inlanes and the flippers? Someone should key post that if there is. Man is that annoying! You anticipate the ball moving at the same speed down the flipper and BANG, it slows to a halt once it hits the flipper. This is my today's project to remedy
Other than that and a quick sensor calibration via the in-game service menu my CE has been issue free out of the box! This is a great sign from JJP! Congrats to the whole team!
Posted this in the CE thread but its applicable to all - thanks to Eskaybee
First adjustment to do when you guys get your games is to adjust your lower flippers to be parallel with the lane guides. This greatly helps reduce/eliminate the ball hang ups on the flippers from the inlanes and greatly improves flipper flow. This is a must!
I've attached a photo here of how you roughly want them aligned. You want to aim the left flipper at the 'v' between the skeleton body and arm and for the right flipper aim roughly at the top of the tallest knuckle of the skeleton's hand on that side. On mine and on photos i've seen on here it's a fairly big adjustment. Made a huge difference.
0CBC4A5A-99AD-4057-BAA2-7D1124D95558.jpegAnyone have the definitive adjustment for the drumstick ramp to make sure the ball doesn't hop off the end and not go down the catwalk due to it riding the side of the machine and right stick versus center of the sticks?
Anyone have any tips to cut down on airballs off the targets? The targets flanking the ramps get that ball flying all over!
Anyone have any tips on dialing in the inner loop? I can hit mine no problem but often times the ball doesn't make it back to the upper flipper and smacks on something up by the AXL lanes. I'm at 7.2ish pitch which feels like the sweet spot (bubble tip touching 3rd line of the playfield level).
Quoted from Gambeno:Anyone know what causes this issue? Turn on the game tonight to this message. Says shooter lane 6 stuck open? Switch #102.

Try going into the service menu settings->tests->device tests->sensors and hit start to calibrate. I believe that is the top most skill shot sensor that is tripped there.
I was tinkering around with the inner loop shot to try to get it more consistent. My issue was always with the ball exiting the loop ramp by the AXL lanes and taking odd bounces and hitting into stuff.
I found the ball was actually striking the post by the loop exit ramp. This could be mitigated in two ways - either bending the exit ramp upwards so the ball travels over it, or by bending the ball guide by the loop exit down slightly towards the player so the ball rolls around the post. I chose the latter as I didn't want the ball flying any higher up there. Keep in mind its a very slight bend. It looks like it needs a lot but its not much. In-fact I had a hard time photographing a before/after based on little I had to bend it. Happy to report this adjustment seems to have solved my issue. Going to continue to test it with a larger sample size, but looks promising!

Quoted from Eskaybee:Nice find! I may take a look at mine this weekend to see if I can improve it, but it works pretty darn good as is - just happens once in awhile.
Did you actually bend the guide? It looks like a pretty far adjustment (for a ball guide). Or is there an adjustment screw you loosened and then adjusted?
I did bend the guide very slightly - doesn't take much. It looks like it would need more than it does, but the sphere shape of the ball helps Bend tiny bits then check with a ball, continue until it doesn't hit.
Quoted from JohnJ1366:So itās been 2 whole weeks ago that I ordered the LE from cointaker. For all of us impatient man-children, I have come up with the most scientific, down to the mili-second, fool proof way of knowing when the LE line will start again. For those that got or are getting a CE just drop a post with your CE number. Iāll actually start getting excited when I see the post āJust got my 498 CE today.ā
This would work, but it doesn't work like Spooky builds. The numbers that go with the machines are pulled at random. You could tell if people post up the last digits of their serial number though I believe. For example my CE serial ends in 009 but the CE # is 50
Got a full set of cliffys installed on my CE last night. They fit great! Super easy shooter lane protector install. Slightly more complex song scoop protector install which requires the upper playfield be removed (4 machine screws and unplug cables from under playfield and spotlight).
Super happy with how they turned out. Thanks Cliff!

- post at entrance of inner loop just under the left ramp was extremely loose and had chipped my playfield -be sure this stays tight! Added a rubber washer under it and tightened it back down.
- scoop was super loose. Added locktite to both machine screws and tightened back down after installing the cliffys. This is similar to the pirates tortuga scoop fix if you've done that one
- gold metal shavings from the high hat cymbol, vacuumed this off and cleaned the playfield afterwards. haven't investigated further to find a fix
How to Remove the Upper Playfield (LE & CE):
1. Remove the bass guitar wireform - not going to describe this here as its super straight forward
2. (optional, but easier if needing access to work on song scoop for cliffy install) Remove the left catwalk ramp - also easy so won't describe
3. Remove the two nuts on the Axl sculpture on the upper playfield and remove Axl (see photo)
4. Unplug the leftmost hex light power cable and the two power cables for the spotlight above the upper ramp (see photo)
5. Flip playfield up and locate the wires coming off the upper playfield. Trace them to their corresponding plug locations and unplug them all. Leave them plugged into the upper playfield! (see photo)
6. Locate the 4 machine screws on the upper playfield and remove (see photo)
7. Gently lift off the upper playfield ensuring the wires are feeding up smoothly and not getting snagged
8. Celebrate your victory!

Quoted from NeilMcRae:Vitty thanks for sharing the install of the cliffy. - how does the game play with the cliffy in the scoop? Both getting the ball in the scoop and the ball ejecting?
Neil.
Honestly plays much better than stock protector as at least my stock scoop protector was raise off the playfield on both sides. Also getting the scoop lid secured and locked tighter in place helps as well as mine was super loose.
