It has a lot of shots "gnr" I love the inner loop off third flipper better than avengers third flipper shot (I've played both) The ramps are cool in avengers but they get same to same to me after a hour or so I think no one talks about the variety of shots on gnr and are kind of different the left ramp is a odd ramp easier to backhand than to cradle and shoot off right but you can hit flow on both.apples to oranges but give me Guns N' Roses.Avengers animations aren't even in the same ball park.I think best game I've played and game of the year.

Those 4 games are the only new 2020 pins I’ve played this year. I have about equal time on all 4 (actually much less on hot wheels) but only a couple hours on each so really my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. But at least I got that going for me

+ AIQ definitely wins the layout dept.
+ rules and code are honestly great on all 4, but AIQ is way early vs the other 3. It needs a lot of polish.
+ lighting - GNR and R&M are exquisite
+ sounds and music - GNR and R&M smoke the other 2
+ fun and addictive play - GNR and R&M are a wash. Hot wheels close behind.
+ X Factor: i.e. energy, Adrenalin. Again, GNR R&M smoke the other 2.
+ overall: I give the edge to GNR because...well, basically I’m bias. Otherwise R&M

If you like different modes like you loved "wonkas office" and you wished they crammed tons in a game instead of 3 or 4 guns is a mode base lovers delight and alot is there.Avengers has cool shots just saying guns is underrated on shots brecause it doesn't have some crazy looking ramps compared to Avengers both awesome though

Okay Barry got back to me, there is a bug on competition mode, that causes a reset issue I tested it once and seems to be working but will test further this weekend to ensure it is working.

Not sure why the week delay in response but glad at least it seems to be a fix.

I’ve had time on both versions of AIQ. Shots for days and complex rules but no soul pulling me in.
GNR wins spinning disk battle w/risk/reward and total experience but probably won’t win these pinball trophies.
AIQ is no Maiden, but do like how the pro plays.

There was a bug fairly early on, where Frank kept repeating that. A few people referred to it as "chatty frank". I believe its fixed now. I don't find it too repetitive.

While AIQ may indeed have a fantastic layout and deep rules it is so lacking in the other “50%” of what makes pinball pinball that awarding a game like that game of the year feels... wrong

Why? Almost everyone in this thread doesn’t have the game. Club threads are for owners and fans. Always have been.

The way it looks is that they just read the response as I had to send them another follow up email and then they responded right away to it with the suggested fix. I gave them the full error log 7 days ago they probably just didn’t look at it till now. As a collector this is no big deal and I would not have cared since but since it is on location and I see the disappointment when people come in and it not working or the work I had to do to cancel launch party and the money that was lost by not having it because of someone not getting back to us in time is a major drag. It also put a sour taste in people mouths about the quality of JJP machines as this machine has been down more than it has been operating. This issue took a total of 14 days to resolve for what I would call a relatively simple solution but hey if this is the standard then I guess it is what it is.

I own all of these. I don’t really care who wins game of the year, I want them all to be successful and continue building games.
My quick thoughts on each (so far)

R&M: Toughest shooter, best callouts, great humor and light show

GnR: Best integration, best light show, best sound, linear ruleset

Hot Wheels: Best shooter (hard to beat a well done fan layout), great light show and fun ruleset, weakest theme

AIQ: Best layout, great flow, deepest rules(not always a positive), weakest of the bunch in animation and callouts

All will be in my collection for quite a while.

Not a savy code guy myself but my guess is going through thousands of lines of code to find a "it just shuts off" trigger is not exactly a simple 1 hour job. And just a guess but I don't suspect you are their Only customer or issue. Glad you got it identified and maybe a different level of managed expectations. Or not.

Just got our LE tonight, and a second huge shout-out to doomid at OnTiltPinball and AYCE Gogi in SoCal for being the BEST pinball distributor. Playfield is beautiful, plays flawless right out of the box, and downloaded the most recent code effortlessly. I can’t believe JJP has raised the bar again!

Spent the week with GnR SE thanks to my local distro PlayerOne amusement group.
Can’t say enough good stuff about this pin.

Both are amazing, but GnR is just on another level.
If you haven’t had a chance to go on deep runs,
Or play for hrs or more, it’s hard to rate this game.
So many modes, so much to do in the modes.
I think it’s deeper then people realize on the surface.

10/10 in my books.

Given the contribution from Slash and the access to all the assets, I can’t imagine GNR not winning. If we want to send a message to the manufacturers that theme, assets, and integration matter, GNR needs to win and people need to keep buying it. Look how much improved JP is with the alternate audio and video. Think about how much better DP would be with MOVIE assets. Similar story with AIQ.

Now that more people own the game, voice your opinion on not being able to pass on a song if you hit the scoop unintentionally or are awarded a song through mystery. Also what do you think of the album mode scoring and if it needs to be increased at all to somewhat match the song scoring.

And this is the reason i bit the bullit yesterday and let my distributer know that despite the 2800 Euro increase in price for the LE thanks to that idiotic tariff i still want it delivered in january. Paying more than CE price now for the LE version. It will sting now but i know i am gonna enjoy the hell out of this game and it will be bolted to the floor permanently. i missed out on POTC for the obvious reasons and will not miss out again.

I don’t think the song reward is a bad feature for location play, but it would be nice to be able to turn off.

The album scoring does seem way too gimped, I feel like completing an album mode should be worth no Less than 3-5 million.

I think more clarity around how to increase your song value before a song starts would be useful.

Also new owners, I highly highly recommend a pin woofer upgrade. It’s not cheap but it made the sound on my game MUCH better. For a game centered around sound it seemed like a no brainer.

Yes, please. Clarity on how to increase song and album value. I know, booster mulitballs, but what specifically? What is max song value? 100? Who knows. Same for album value, who knows. I cant find squat anywhere on this info. Also, what do band member advances do? We desperately need a rule sheet on this one.

I think Avengers will win due to all of the Stern and Keith fans out there , no matter how good a game is from any manufacturer they just won't vote for it .
