I did this as well and I seem to have lost the ability to fine tune the bass settings through the amp, did this happen to you as well? I can still turn up the bass at the sub itself but I can’t hear any changes when turning the knobs on the amp. Honestly can’t say if this is better or worse…

I’ll check tonight and report back!

Loving the innovation, you 3D printers always come out with great stuff. The only thought I have is the bridges being covered up might get hot due to little airflow (don't know that for a fact)...may want to modify the bracket and give it either it's own cut out or some air holes...just thinking out loud.

I will check the temp. There is now about a finger room. I could increase that a bit with another hexspacer in between.

UPDATE: played over an hour and the pla of the print does not get hot. Seems there is enough room. Maybe I will print one with holes in it but seems ok.

That’s great news. From the picture it was hard to tell, great job and I’m sure many people will use it to help with potential vibration issues and those big caps.

I just tested mine. Moving the knobs on my amp makes a BIG difference on mine. Bass/treble etc.

Thanks! I’m the second owner so didn’t install the pinwoofer myself! Sounding amazing now!

I assume mine is a “GT” amp?

Thanks!

Tonight I was locking many balls in the Les paul guitar head. And it would go into ball search mode. Happened on 2 or 3 games.

Balls are not registering in the lock mech?

Richard-NBA-SF2 I had a similar issue to what you are describing. My situation was as follows:
1. When the game was turned on everything was fine and sensors were all happy.
2. Once I started a game, after the first ball or so, the shooter lane sensors failed.
3. Go into settings and they were wonky.
4. Turned off and on again, everything back to normal and working until the 2nd ball in a game

Opened a ticket with Support and what we found out was one of the cables in one of the molex connectors came loose so the connection was intermittent. As soon as you started playing, the cable will rattle in the housing and make a bad connection and thus the game rendered it as not working until you shut it down and started again. So, go to your backbox and check on the molex connectors close to the PC to make sure they are snug and not coming apart. After fixing that I haven't had the issue again.

What is the number of that connector? I have sometimes issues with shooterlane sensors. Skillshot is awarded while I did not even launch the ball.

I have the GT.. it has a Gain knob next to the cables on opposite side of all the other knobs, KO does not, I think.
Also I think the GT is rectangular like yours and the KO is more a smaller squared shape.

Well, nothing that I'm certain will address your problem. However, I have had the exact same problem so you are not alone. I've reported it to JJP.

I'm not certain, but assuming you have the right SSID and have correctly entered the right password, I've found the JJP pins to behave poorly when connected to a WiFi access point that supports WPA3+WPA2 (at the same time). I'm not 100% certain, but this appears to be the problem.

In my case, my WiFi AP doesn't allow me to disable WPA3, but perhaps you could as a test.

I ended up using an old WiFi AP and setting up a network only for JJP pins. It's reliable that way.

Oh, one other things... don't forget to try power cycling the pin. That resolves the WiFi issue occasionally, at least for me.

Hey there .. so for my own edification, were you able to swing out those nib holders without the back lower edge digging into the playfield on yours?

Plastic washers were my solution. This allows the snubber brackets to rotate without touching the pf. I have the posts tightened down enough to keep the brackets in place but still rotate them when necessary. I had issues with the cliffy protector on the scoop and must have rotated those brackets at least a dozen times over the past few years without any damage. Finally replaced the cliffy to solve that.

Your second screenshot says network is off. Press + to turn it on.

Maybe connecting to a different network automatically turned it back on.

Quoted from arzoo:

This makes good sense. So it created enough space that they can swing out safely. Nice. Obviously I've got a little more work to get that done but that's worth it. Well done and thank you.

Do you get any scoop protector lifting without the nub arms holding down the back end? Or does the adhesive do the job

Quoted from fooflighter:

The scoop hood still screws down over the back of the cliffy, so no lifting issues (and I didn't use the adhesive).

Yes, definitely more work involved to add those washers. I put washers on most every post from day one (back during the dark days of the playfield panic!) so the ability to rotate the snubber brackets was just a nice side benefit.

This is probably one of the best posts yet. A quick fix to a software release that has been very well received. Isn't it refreshing to see the words "JJP has heard and addressed"?

Shitload of criticism for JJP over the years on lack of software support. Hopefully this latest round of "making things right" helps make JJP's perception better. I think their next one to fix is POTC. I know that is a bigger ask since distributors are not helped as much. They still should do it though. Obviously they have the other titles to finish up (GF/EJ). Anyway, it is great progress and loving that they are really putting the finishing touches on GnR. Well done JJP.

Need some advice before I start experimenting. So the left ball lock gets stuck down. I can see why from right above, its touching up against the wood. If I apply a little pressure in the other direction, it releases, but then gets stuck next time it goes down. If I apply a LOT of pressure pushing in the other direction, it'll stay good for a short while, but eventually come back this way. What specifically should I adjust so it stays aligned?

100% with you…

I love my GNR even more than before because of the changes that we’re been having. I’m now waiting for the same with my GodFather, those small touches makes big differences. In GodFather we have a few knock-off-very-extremely-fake phrases instead of Al Pacino’s and I think that’s disrespectful for us the GF movie fans, and just because of that sometimes (…I don’t know) but I’ve been kind of hesitant to keep it… I hope that JJP addresses those details.

If the rumors are true about new JJP coming titles… "Muppets", "Top Gun", "Matrix" and "Harry Potter" I’m interested in 1 of those titles 100%… but If I don’t see a huge code in GodFather like in our Guns N’ Roses I probably won’t be interested. My girlfriend wanted an Elton John, basically I declined that purchase for her because I don’t want to deal with code issues.

…my GNR has been proudly bolted at home and STAYS LIKE THAT, we have "0" space in our game room now, but I can place one more game at the entrance
IMG_0590 (resized).jpegIMG_0590 (resized).jpeg

*Please JJP, don’t forget about GF, please, please add Pacino’s original phrase and remove the "keep it coming, keep it coming, keep it coming…" annoying phrase.

Thank you

That doesn't surprise me. The Wi-Fi is always been a little wonky in the way it works, where things are located in the settings, and behavior when switching networks, detecting 5 ghz networks consistently...
So I've done what you've done in the past as well. Once I get it all working I try to leave it alone because I seem to always get in some strange situation that's not intuitive to fix.
Try to delete a network you added sometime, lol, that's tricky!

Quoted from Pinball-Obsessed:

Just replaced the IO board tonight. Easy board swap, no issues and took about 10/15 minutes.
Gameplay is faster now for sure. The balls whip around the orbits and up the ramps. I can feel the difference in the flipper strength. Multiball is definitely more fun now with the speed of the ball’s whipping around. I was ok with my flippers before but I can’t deny that this is a huge improvement. Especially during multiball!
Downloading the new code now. Can’t wait to play some games with the updated code and stronger flippers!

Got a chance to play a few more games today, since installing the new I/O board and updating to the new code. Playing this pin now is a much more fun experience overall. I finally beat my (more than 2 year old) GC score of 32 million. My new GC score was over 600 million.

Finally, having a good game is now properly aligned with a good score. In my 600 million game, I locked 5/6 balls each time for two songs and completed those two songs (but not the encores) completed one mini wizard mode (shall we play a game) and got halfway through the other (the one where you shoot the cannon). Besides that I got at least one extra ball and of course a few of the other “gimme” mutiballs. :/

Overall, super happy with GNR. Because, now when I walk away from having a good game, I have a good score and it was more fun to play with the improved strength of the flippers. Also, I’m walking away already thinking… can’t wait to play it again. Whereas before I would walk away disappointed after having, what I thought was a good to great game, but a shit score to show for it.

#28790 3 months ago

I’m really digging the new code update and after 3.5 years of owning, falling in love with GNR again is great. I may consider the IO board upgrade. I’ll probably do a rebuild of the flippers first since I haven’t done that since owning. Does anyone have recommendations of what I need to replace for that, is it just coil stops and sleeves?

I agree about loving GNR again. Mine is also 3.5 years old (soon to be 4 in October). How many plays on your machine?

I/O board or capacitors do one of them, you’ll be glad you did.

Can't seem to find the guide on how to remove the guitar lock, I want to remove it all to place some rings around the snubber posts.

If anyone can link me, much appreciated

As i understood it a powercycle will remedy that problem. I believe Ted Estes mentioned it in the Beta channel on Telegram. Apparently the update won't forget the previous fail. He has not gotten around to fixing that.
