I’d use a magnet to get those shavings
I had to remove my upper playfield (and the upper flipper). Having trouble adjusting the upper flipper to be level with the playfield and using the typical tool it still ends up being just a tad too close to the playfield. When I adjust manually I over adjust and the flipper doesn't flow smoothly. Any tips/suggestions? This appears to need to be very precise...

Double the thickness of the tool. Index card or business card works.

Thanks LTG - appreciate the help! It took several tries but I got it done. Every time I got the shaft to the proper height I wanted and then set the playfield back down it was binding in the coil again. After doing this 4-5 times I tried it with the playfield down (mostly) and it worked properly. I've never had to adjust flippers that way usually I get it 75% tight, set the playfield down and position the flipper and finish tightening with the playfield back up. For some reason that wasn't working on this one flipper.
Ok so I went to play tonight and....
THERES NO SOUND.
Reboot. No sound. Repeat. No sound.
NO SOUND! Everything else looks normal. But there's no sound at all.
Thoughts?

Sounds like a headache. So much for the SE not having them.
Check the USB connectors at the computer in the backbox. Sounds like something succumbed to gravity.

Thank you for the tip. Guess I'll start digging.

I believe the audio also connects via an audio jack (like a set of headphones) on one of the boards. Might make sense to reseat that as well.
I need to replace the snubber blocks. In order to do this the guitar ramp and upper playfield need to come off. Could someone who’s done this before highlight which screws need to be removed

"TECH: PLAYFIELD. Center hole side rubber replacement instructions"
Quoted from Eskaybee:Me wondering If slash solo will ever be worth playing…[quoted image]
I wonder if slash knows his solo sucks
Quick question - is the top playfield supposed to be flush (completely even) with the ramps leading up to it? See photo. After putting my game back together I noticed one of the posts that pop up/down to release the balls off the guitar neck was stuck. I had to move the upper playfield a bit to get it to move freely again but as a result the playfield is lower than the ramps. I'm not sure if this is right or not. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

I still have 2 sets left/available from this order.
PM me if you want one of them.
Fill me in. I know there’s a lot of talk and I can go search through the thread. But what’s the intent of upgrading? Do they come with the upgraded servos installed? If so I’ll take it.

Here's the original post I listed about the kit:

You can get servos, from Ali Express in China... 4 for about 50 and change
Link here: https://aliexpress.us/item/3256802844813856.html
Use this Upgraded Spotlght Kit when they fail, it's way more robust than JJP stock.
No matter what fails first (either the flimsy stock assembly breaks or a JJP stock servo fails, or both) you should treat it as one job and replace the entire spotlight assembly and install new emax servos. I havent seen any reports/posts of PU-Parts Upgrade kit breaking, nor have I seen any post of Emax servos failing (yet)
PM me if you want to get on the reserved list.
EDIT: I am out of them this run. but I HAVE ORDERED MORE DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND.
I ran through this batch or assembly kits only quite fast so I will order some more BUT also this is new for this coming run, I will order servos also to offer these as a full kit since eskaybee wanted the both assembly upgrade kit PLUS four servos as a single bundle, and I think this makes sense.
Probably 10-14 days before the assemblies come in, and hopefully the same time frame for servos.
PM me if you want to reserve a spot for the next group buy run, which is the new bundle of Spotlight assembly + 4 emax 3054 servos!
total price will be $160 which will cover all shipping and handling collection of both from Germany AND China to me, then I ship USPS to you (USA only).
You will get PU-parts.com Spotlight assembly kit plus 4 EMAX servos!
I can do paypal or venmo, let me know your preference.
I will keep you informed, and you should have to you by the end of November in my estimation.
PM me now to reserve a spot for this new run of PU Parts assembly kit PLUS 4 Emax servos when they come in.

If you decide to ship to Canada I would like a set , is not hard if you ship via USPS , just ask for a customs declaration form , fill out shipper/receiver and declared value and stick it on the box . Once it clears customs it goes off to Canada post and we pay canada post customs and taxes owed when we pick up .

True true. I can do that.
Once I get the next batch in I'll PM you.
I noticed something .
I plunged twice .
I got one skill shot , no super skill shot .
I got into the flames multiball in two shots .
On my third plunge , I had a full blue ring for skill shot , how does that happen
Had a blast today with Eric Meunier at DPO in the Netherlands. Finally got to thank him in person for getting my game signed by Slash and co. The guy is wonderfull to talk to. Looking forward to hanging with him and picking his brain for the stories behind the game

I know, feeling rather privileged. I know for sure i am gonna visit Chicago and do the factory tour within the next 2 years. They are so passionate about what they do. I love it. Looking forward to the seminars today and getting to hear some of the amazing stories that relate to how some of these games we love came to be. Just got a little bit of insight about how GnR evolved during its creation yesterday while having some one on one time with Eric. If you look at the easteregg video of Slash visiting JJP for the first time if you look real close to the right side of the playfield you can see a VUK where the concert speaker are mounted at the skill shot area. I asked him what happen to that in the production version of the game. He told me it had to go because he was about 400 dollars over the BOM budget. You might think 400 dollars for a VUK??? But there used to be and elaborate subway system with 4 entry points connected to that VUK that was enough to reach the budget cap. At the end of the skillshot lane there was an enty hole for that subway that if you overshot you skill shot your ball would drop into the subway instead of the standup target we have now. Also in the Axl area where the magnet grab is there would be and entry at the X from Axl with and a ball lock storage under the VUK for an instant release when a ball would hit one of those 4 entries to the subway. It would keep the flow very fast for the game.
Well i am off to another day at the DPO Expo and probably some more great stories from them.
Added 23 months ago:Addition 1 to keypost on request:
The subway system had to be cut because of being overbudget with the BOM. It would have been like the one in STTNG and would have had 2 balls stored for a straight away release when a ball would go into the subway entrance for keeping the the flow going. It contained 5 coils and 4 entrances and a VUK. In the end scrapping it brought the total budget back to the max BOM and saved the 400$ it was over budget. I loved sitting down with Eric and getting these gems out of him. Can't wait to see what he will bring us next. Knowing he could not talk about it i did not ask. But overall the man is so generous and actually talked to Slash yesterday who was in Singapore and showed him pictures of the Dutch Pinball Museum where the DPO Expo was held. Slash kinda was jealous he was not there as well.
2nd addition:
I asked about if more songs were getting a reworked lightshow and Eric said they are constantly evaluating feedback and some songs might be adjusted in future code. Currently they are focussed on score balancing and the album modes, Slash's solo is also being adressed. Good news all around. He also was very positive about the new graphic equalizer that now is in the beta code. I got so much feedback from him during the 3 days i got to hang about with him and JP i kind to have to let it sink in. If i remember some more relevant information i will be sure to post it here.

Wow, GnR with a subway system, too? Would have been even better!
The "It's So Easy" re-worked light show on the beta code is so good!!
I wonder if they're going to enhance any of the other song light shows, And what the story is behind that one being updated? I played last night and got that song, and forgot how good the new light show was... just wow.
Quoted from PinMonk:Wow, GnR with a subway system, too? Would have been even better!
Would have been worth adding in the CE at least.

Check the JJP beta thread, there’s info on how to join their Telegram channel in the first post

Seems ambiguous and elusive.... Almost elite.

Just played It's So Easy tonight and you're right, it's cool but holy crap it was hard for me to keep track of the ball! Love that it seems interactive.
Also noticed that the match sequence has a light show now.

Nice catch on the match sequence, I didn't notice. I'll check that out!! Thx.
Thought the same thing about loving the interactive effects of it's so easy and I didn't feel totally in the dark when all lights went out because it's so brief that the effect was perfectly disorienting and seemed to be timed well but I have Pinstadiums also so there's that. I don't know what it looks like without them.

Ah, what could have been!
Can you take your other post where you mentioned the other details (VUK, subway entrances, etc) and combine it with the information in this post and make a new post? I keyposted that other post, but it would be silly to keypost this separately with part 2 documenting the rest of the "lost" GnR feature, so if you can make one new post with all the info of the feature, I can keypost just that one so it's all in one place.

You got my vote for GNR owners thread ambassador!
Thanks for sharing this and basically confirming this news that was previously just a logical deduction from beta releases. If the ISE light show, and equalizer are first fruits then I can only imagine what is in store with a production release!! Good times ahead!
I also asked him about adding new songs, he said that there is no intention now to add anything new. Slash wanted 34 songs in but they had to tell him that was not possible license wise. I also asked him for a way to play the end game because I will probably never get there in the game. He said that is on the table and possible to include in new code but it will not be available for the player immediately. You have to earn that right, he mentioned someting on time based (like half a year) or with patches I do not know. For the rest it was a great time hanging out with Eric, drinking some beers and talking pinball.

That's my biggest hope for the code update , to be able to play No Sympathy for the Devil .
Looks like a really fun mode with opposite flippers and such .
I understand the wizard mode is a reward for getting through everything , but it sucks one of the best modes will never be played by 95% of people .
I can't see the harm in having it available in the settings . They could have your score for that mode as visitor or tourist .
The more options the better .

Also, I hope pinball_keefer and/or whoever is revising the code fixes the wizard mode scoring. When Karl DeAngelo finished it he was let down that it wasn't very rewarding, score wise, even though the wizard mode itself was cool.

You would think the scoring should reflect the difficulty of getting there and completing it .
It took Carl something like 2 weeks to do the wizard mode on big buck hunter .
If it's so hard for one of the best players in the world to get there , 99% of people will never see it . Seems like a waste of time and effort coding it .

Well Eric told us that they are revising the code and scoring on album modes and things like Slash Solo since they see also it is skipped or not played since it is not worth the risk. Eric is still in close contact with Slash, they are still texting. Even when we were playing a game of Star Wars which he dominated he was just chatting with him.
