Isn’t that your fault though? You are in control when it comes to the amount of risk you want to have and start all those four multiballs pre album mode.

Are you saying you are maxing all 4 of those out and you don’t feel like album modes are worth playing after doing so?

Quoted from gearheaddropping:

However, once you get to an album mode and cancel it because of the waste of time it can be points-wise, you realize this game needs more.

Quoted from radfordian3505:

keeps staying engaged

When you turn the game on, does it lock on then ? If so get ahold of jjp, the I/O board has an issue, likely transistor.

If it goes locks on when you start a game, I'd open the coin door. Then go into Tests - Switches - Matrixed, and look for anything stuck closed that should be open.

If that is all good, back to get jjp's help with your I/O board.

So for my piece of mind down the line and to make sure i keep enjoying this game in the future i got my replacement playfield set. Checked them out and saw the production dates. You got to be kidding me......

Maybe April fools day?

Let’s hope that’s the issue and not another BS guess from the peanut gallery…

They should be fine.

Has anyone in Australia got a replacement playfield? I spoke with Paul and there is no MSRP or details of when they’ll arrive

That could be the barrier of entry and scary for the technically challenged... I get it if that's your issue.

I've been updating JJP games since WOZ .
There has been some bugs in some updates , I enjoy the game as it is and more than happy to wait for the official release .

Had a mate come over yesterday and we installed black mirror blades .
They look amazing . Not too over the top and they open up the game so much , even better than what I had hoped for .
I love how you can pull the playfield out for easy access to the cabinet .

Anyone install the mini precious flipper on the upper playfield? Thoughts? Cheers.

#23215 11 months ago
Quoted from screaminr:

Just spent tonight installing pin woofer GT amplifier , going step-by-step from YouTube video of Hurry Up Pinball .
I've been putting it off for almost a year but I have people coming over tomorrow for the grand final and thought now is the time .
I didn't change over the tweeters or the subwoofer .
I couldn't find the nuts and washers for the subwoofer , I'm not saying I didn't get them but I looked through all the boxes and looked everywhere and couldn't find them and I also couldn't find the double.sided.tape.for the board that goes in the back box , but I had some double-sided tape so that wasn't an issue .
So I got it all done , and following the video , I set all the dials to 12 position and the gain to the 2-3 position .
It sounded horrible . But I thought it just needs adjusting , so I spent about an hour fucken around with all the settings and it was just awful , really staticky , tinny & scratchie .
I double checked all the connections were correctly positioned and pushed in fimly and it was grounded properly .
But no luck , it was totally unplayable .
I haven't pulled it all out , but I disconnected everything and put it back to way it was . Now the sound is good again .
Half reason I got it was because I thought the GT amplifier had a line out for an external subwoofer . So how do you connect it ?
On the Hobbit you could just plug in the subwoofer and it was brilliant .
Not sure what I will do now , if I swap over the speakers and connect an external sub or just do the sub .
I'm not saying pin woofer make a crap product , lots of people recommended it , so either something is wrong with my amp or more likely I've done something wrong , I just don't know what .
Looks like 500 bucks down the drain but hey that's Pinball [quoted image]

Update .
While we had the playfield out , we installed the speakers for pinwoofer and hooked up an external sub .
Sounds awesome , just makes the game feel so much fuller .
Had some issues with sound clipping ( sound volume cutting.in.and.out ) but turned up the master volume and pretty much sorted it out , still happening every now and then but with some more tweaks to the settings I'm sure it will be fine .
We played for about 6 hours straight , till 4 a.m. and had a blast .
I can fully recommend the pinwoofer system , if any game deserves it , this is it .
And thanks to Dan for reaching out so quickly when I initially had issues ( because I didn't change the speakers over )
Great customer service .

I think you need to turn up the gain control slightly to eliminate that sound muting.

Dang that's gorgeous. I'd consider a playfield swap if I could get a CE playfield on my LE. And hang my LE. That would be epic. But then again it'd be hard not to hang the CE. Tough choice. Good thing I can't get the CE playfield I guess.
Wait..
Anybody with a CE that doesn't want to get one but would get one for me so I can have your opportunity? I would hang on my wall.
I'd pay shipping and throw in some cash for the trouble.

After 3 days and about 100 plays on this game. I will never understand the criticism this game gets. This thing is a fucking masterpiece in so many ways. The booster multiballs help you once you start a song and if they are too much they can easily be turned down in the settings, but you lose all that extra help once you go on stage. Coma mode is by far my favorite of this game and is one of the most unique modes I have seen. This is definitely a keeper in my collection and by far my favorite JJP.

#23223 11 months ago

It’s so different in a good way. Godzilla is a great game too, but god forbid not every game is easy to destroy in 60 minute marathon sessions.

The only horrible mode is slash solo, past that, I gotta say I disagree with the majority of what “needs to be fixed”.

This game doesn’t need to be fixed.

I’m actually not even hating slash solo as much anymore. It’s still not rewarding enough but it’s not terribly hard to get through. Then it’s done and out of the way for awhile. I’ll never understand the hate this game gets either.

Short answer: most pinsiders are too dumb to understand the game.

It’s easier to trash talk GnR instead of actually learning the rules of the game and finding out how fun and challenging it is.

Anyone with precision flippers on their machine? Thoughts? What style /colour did you go for? Photos?

#23232 11 months ago

I've had Precision Flip on my GnR for a while. Night and day difference. Flipper response is considerably more snappy, and I can backhand several shots I never could before. If you increase the flipper power as well, it transforms the flipper feel from the more "mushy" Williams to the snappy Stern that many people prefer. For me, Precision Flip is the #1 upgrade for any machine, even before a shaker motor. If you've not played a game with these, do seek one out. Note: you need the bushings as well to see the benefits.

As for color, I've tried both red and black and they both look good. I've currently got a black set on but will switch to red when my black silicone flipper rubbers come in. Just for grins, I may see how a blue set looks as well, though the mini-flipper is not available in blue (yet).

Has everyone that wanted a replacement PF received their PF or been contacted about the availability of the replacements?

I reached out and got my name on the list a very long time ago but I haven’t been contacted.

Maybe just send her a copy of your original request/confirmation.

Help…Lower right hot rail not working.

I changed my rubber rings on the right side under the metal catwalk ramp and afterwards noticed the bottom half was not lighting.
Any ideas?

Reseat connectors for them near where you worked and push them in tight. Maybe something came loose ?

For the third time, I've had my passive diverter in my Gibson headstock stop working properly. It ends up having too much play, and the vibrations of the pop bumpers cause it to rotate out of position causing 2 or 3 balls in a row to enter the same side of the ball lock. The fix is generally easy, take the diverter out, re-bend that little washer to add more tension in the assembly, put it back together and it's good. But the issue I have is that I have to do this about every 200 or so games. Is there a better fix than this? Possibly a replacement aftermarket washer that works better in there?

So did some tinkering.
The led strip can be slid out of the hot rail from the rear. I can’t seem to find any obvious breaks in it although pressing on one of the elements can sometimes relight the whole strip.

Ive put in a ticket online w jjp to get a new strip.

Howdy. Been a lurker for two years. Bought GnR in late August. Love it. I come to this forum a ton and it has been very helpful. Thanks for all the info!
My R dual up down post rests about half the height of the L. It appears the spring is deformed and the bolt that goes thru the cylinder dropped out of the bracket. I guess that it backed out from all the vibration.
I called JJP. They are sending me another spring. I’ve reviewed the manual but still unclear on how to replace the spring. I guess I’ll figure it out when the spring arrives and actually start taking shit apart. Has anyone experienced this? Any advice?
Also how far into the bracket do I screw down this bolt. The opposite post was half the way screwed in. But I do not know if that was they way it was shipped from factory.

Lastly I ordered the fans for flippers, diverter and magnet from pinmonk. How long did y’all have to wait for part? I ordered last week and still no email on shipping etc. I just hope I ordered it from the correct place and not some scam type site.
Thanks in advance.

Not a scam site, just perpetually backed up.

Yours should be going out in a day or two.

That is your best bet. Pictures or notes if you think it will help.

Shouldn't be hard. Just take obvious things apart until you get at it and can swap out the spring.

Yeah, I've been having trouble receiving emails for pinmonk.com. I can send, but receiving is a problem due to the fact that the shopify store is at a different physical address than the domain IP, and ISPs think that means spam/fraud. I've been trying to adjust the MX record and the dkim, but so far no luck. Most other store owners use a mail service from what I can see, and I may just give up and go to that to get the problem resolved.

Hey guys,

Since a while i get this error message.
The game works perfectly fine, all mixes switch's seems ok but I do like to get rid of it. Does anyone know which switch or issue it is?
Thanks

Right spot finally needs repair.
The assembly bracket holding the bottom screw in the vertical servo broke. I think servos are fine.
Now I finally get to use the other half of my spotlight upgrade kit and install emax servos I've been saving for this day.
Lasted almost 1500 plays... that's pretty dern good I think.

That is a fantastic run. I'm at about 1700 plays and I've gone through several brackets for the same reason (the little eyelit breaks every time). JJP replaced mine under warranty each time, I'll say that for them, but it is annoying to have to keep repairing them.

Nonetheless, another point of failure I've found is that even if the servo doesn't die and bracket doesn't break, and the actuator doesn't break, I find the spot that the gear goes in the actuator gets rounded out, so the actuator arm just slips on the gear and moves erratically, or not at all.

The mezelmods spotlight parts have been out of stock for months. Maybe they are done making them forever? There designs on Thingiverse that are vastly more robust than the original, if you have access to a 3D Printer that can print in PETG or Nylon.
