Unboxed an LE today and had some Pinheads over. 49 plays on GnR. Everyone including myself were blown away by the experience. I even got my wife to play a few games and she doesn't play. I kept wanting to play again. Collect the band members and get through another song. The upper playfield is challenging to me. I would love to fill it with 6 locked balls, but that seems like its not going to happen for me anytime soon. There is so much going in the game it was nice to have others there to tell you what was on the little screen and what to do. Even my friend who doesn't care for the music enjoyed playing it. Everyone asked when they could come back and play again.

Agreed. This game does Not need additional lighting in any way. Anything more simply ruins the primary design.

Adding pinstadiums to GNR is like adding fake boobs to Selma Hayek , it's just not necessary

If you backhand from the left flipper it makes it all the way to the upper playfield and there’s a bonus... a lot of the times it goes right into the ball lock!

I find it easier then making that shot from the right flipper because when you get it up there from the right flipper the momentum makes roll right off the upper flipper sometimes and down the drain hole at the bottom of that upper playfield.

Has anyone figured out what the patches do for you? I don't see much in the manual or I'm not understanding it..

#1210 3 years ago

How's this for a combo? Son-in-law showed me this for his birthday.

No cameras, no recorders! Ha! They lost that battle.

Each patch has its own individual benefits. The screen tells you what the benefits are. Sets of like patches can be collected for an even greater benefit. You change the patch you are trying to collect with the action button. Can't collect patches in songs or the wizard modes.

So - At A concert I went to in 2005 - they even tried taking people's cameras/phones... We've come a long way lol.

A couple of years ago, for a Jack White concert, everyone was forced to put their phones into a magnetically sealed pouch before they entered the arena. You could unlock it in a small area of the venue if you needed to make an emergency call, but otherwise it kept people from filming anything or screwing with their phones during the concert. As you walked out, you unlocked it and gave back the pouch.

In my college days (1995-1999) I used to go see Prince play at his recording studio (Paisley Park) on a regular basis. -I had a buddy that was on a secret invite list. It cost a whopping $6 to get in which covered non-alcoholic refreshments, but you had to leave your phone/electronics in the car and go through a metal detector/pat down before entering. Those were fun times. Usually the performance didn't start until after 1a.m. and I remember that the sun was often up by the time it was time to go home.

An old girlfriend used to have me wear a GoPro on my forehead. Sorry to go off topic.

So Wish I could have gone to one of those parties. Recently took my wife on the tour of Paisley Park studios and they have a Strict No Phones policy. Your phone is collected and put in a lock bag on entry. What a cool place to visit though.

You never knew what you were going to get with the Paisley parties. It was usually something you'd find out about last minute and there were times we'd make the hour drive from where I went to school, wait in the parking lot for hours to get let in and go through security and just watch his band rehearse a handful of new songs (without Prince) over and over for hours. I remember one time where Prince only played the drums and didn't sing the whole night. Other times you'd see a full blown concert or even see guest performers with him. It really just depended on what kind of mood he was in. I do wish I had some pics or video to remember them by, but those were the rules. I do still have a Jehovah's Witness flyer that he personally handed me at one of the shows. I would love to see a Prince pinball machine some day. I've seen a lot of bands and musicians live, and I have never seen a more talented performer.

Placed an order for LE yesterday. Let's see how long it takes to get a confirmation. AS per the comments I read on orders, I'm preparing for a Birthday gift 2021 instead of a Christmas gift 2020. LOL

#1220 3 years ago

My distributor told me 1-3 weeks before SE began to ship. Also they are only going to be receiving a fraction of what they had requested. Prepare for the long wait if you dont already have something on order.

#1221 3 years ago

I’m thinking of gold or black mirror blades.
Hopefully the hot-rails won’t be interfere with the installation.

I got a set of black mirror blades installed with only a few minor cuts. It’s tight and isn’t the easiest thing to do but I highly recommend. They are pricey but in this hobby what isn’t. I had a curious helper that needed removed from the project but I am very happy with the results.

Lol, I misunderstood, thought he meant he had to make a few minor cuts on the blades themselves. Maybe due to the hot rails, or whatever.

Quoted from kermit24:

So when you put it in switch test and place a pinball over each switch what do you get?

So I put the it in the switch test and all the lock ball sensors work accept the left middle one. Also my stand up target in the upper playfield not registering anything either and that also comes up as an error when I turn my game on

It looks like connectors is in but it’s difficult to see and I can’t reach under neath with my fingers because there’s no room under there.

I fear I might have to disassemble and lift that upper playfield.

If I was making a topper, i would go with a speakerbox and having The band members strand on top in the back of the speaker making the speaker look like a stage. Then have a spot on each bandmember with an andruino tapped into the playfield lighting for each member so their individual spot lighted, once you collected them.

Axl, Slash and Duff each have their own Funko Pop figurines. Size might work pretty well as part of a topper, no comment on how well it would fit with the more adult theme of the pin.

I think these 2 plastics and axl mold, if sold as spare parts by JJP, could look good up top. If not on a toper-less LE or SE where it may look a little lonely for their size and quantity, on the CE it might really look good in front of the flame, or up top on the sound bar. The lights would also work nicely there. Question is when could they be available by jjp, if at all.

The Axy mold is in all three games. I wouldn't want the same thing on top.

Did Axl do any callouts or voice work in the game?
I’ve heard stuff in the videos from the others, Duff, Melissa and Frank but don’t think I heard Axl.

No. They were however allowed to use any of Axels dialog from stage clips they had access to.
