Quoted from PappyBoyington:

Just got my game today after waiting 7 months. Mine is a May build. Looks like there are washers already installed. Don't see any playfield damage yet. What areas should I keep an eye on?
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Sorry if asked, but I'm tracking JJP orders as they pop up. So you're order date about November 3? And did you go through a disty or JJP direct? Thank you and enjoy your game (after you fix upper playfield pooling!)

Quoted from chuckwurt:

Yep. Seems like this post is a guarantee.
[quoted image]

As someone told me, who is the best in the business, it will work it’s way past the washers. The bigger the washer the bigger the problem. That F sucks.

#10703 2 years ago

I got a call and my order was Feb 1st before the hike. Because of the Fd up play field issues I had them put me at the end of the line. This current batch from Mirco is jacked.

Dang you must be going through a big disty to get a call on a Feb order this early! (Either by his allocation or a cancellation)

Quoted from Skyemont:As someone told me, who is the best in the business, it will work it’s way past the washers. The bigger the washer the bigger the problem. That F sucks.

What's your plan? Are you going to put split lock washers under every post and hope the damage doesn't creep more than a millimeter? Has anyone actually applied this theory with success?

In my opinion, the goal is to eliminate the conditions that will create pooling. Using a larger washer with just enough flex (like a 3/4 petg), with mylar underneath to "hold" the clear together (and not over tightening the dam thing!) will make it very difficult to nearly impossible for new pooling to form. I could be wrong, but so far I've yet to see a single point of evidence to say otherwise after hundreds of plays and I have these washers on literally every post on my game.

#10706 2 years ago
Quoted from Eagle14:

Every post with a metal washer under it is a good start.

Most frequent occurence of clear pooling / art torn is at:
- left inlane post where the ball drops
- upper playfield at lock entry
- posts just below the A,X,L lanes
- post at Bottom right of pop bumper (especially the one below the right plastic ramp)

Feel free to complete the list

Not really mine is prefect!
In every way

I'm not finding this to be the case many months and hundreds of plays later.

I think I’m just going to do a complete tear down and see what’s messed up. Then gather all my info together with all the options people have done to see what works the best.

Well, I’ve been following this thread since I placed my order for our first NIB in early January. With a mix of total excitement and trepidation, i hereby report that my distributor told me today that they’ll be shipping mine out next week. I have petg washers coming but the Cliffy set is on the backlog since I just ordered them last week. Maybe I should add some carbon fiber to the order just in case. What a stupid thing to have to be thinking about ahead of a brand new machine…

I want to give big thanks to everyone, especially Yelobird fooflighter zaphX PinMonk LTG for being s’darn helpful and encouraging—I have many of your posts favorited and/or copied into my GNR notes file.

Also I want to thank/blame Karl DeAngelo iepinball for streaming his gameplay and getting the lady of the house so excited about this game that she put “Buy GNR LE” on my honey-do list. We watched him for weeks and slowly figured out it was inevitable.

I’m excited and crossing my fingers for a good game and a strong playfield. Thanks for being a great community, people!

Congrats and welcome to the club! Mine showed up this week and looks great. There is an almost imperceptible amount of pooling around the upper playfield post. I'll carbon cliffy that one and call it a day. FWIW, here's what the washer situation looks like on mine. Born on date May-21.

The long wait is over and I’m smiling like a Cheshire Cat! Planning to setup this weekend and then time to rock!

Has anyone had any issues with the shooter lane kick out? Just got my machine set-up, and the ball hangs about 30% of the time

Your ball isn't centered in the groove in the shooter lane. Fix what it's stuck on.

It's probably kicking out too hard or too soft (I'm thinking too hard). Adjust the kickout strength on the system menu.

Quoted from Mattyk:

Obvious question...is it level?

Yes it's level. Ball is getting caught by the switch

#10723 2 years ago
Quoted from brerspidur:

bend switch or put a couple washers below to lower the switch, problem solved

#10724 2 years ago
Quoted from brerspidur:

Yes it's level. Ball is getting caught by the switch

Make sure the switch is centered in the cutout. If that doesn’t solve it you can bend it down slightly.

#10725 2 years ago
Quoted from kermit24:

This is correct.
I had to do this to most of my inlane and outlane switched as well as the top rollovers.
Most came from the factory way to high and would interfere with game play.
Just make sure the ball will still trigger the switch when it rolls over it.

Impulse buy. Just bought 2 tickets for my wife and I to GNR for the Los Angeles show! I haven’t seen GNR in nearly 30 years (crazy). I’ll be the guy wearing the GNR JJP pinball shirt haha in case anyone else is going

Slash, if you’re reading, and need some pinball competition backstage, hit me up

Much better quality pic and I don't see pooling either.

In the other picture, the reflections from the lighting gave the appearance of pooling.

Also, we found out our machine was shipping next week and bought tickets to GNR…. both TODAY. I think they planned the pinball machine just to boost ticket sales. We didn’t go for the Nighttrain Super Deluxe Bullet Loader My Michelle Special Package though. I never had to decline so many crazy special packages in my life.

LE 1103 is flawless, I guess I lucked out. No issues with post clear pooling/cracking and JJP installed Mylar and nylon washer protection throughout. The artwork on this game is so sick, just wow! I got the Lies album decal, this game is never leaving the collection, ever!

Just curious. Looking darkryder pics of the flippers, this is how they come from the factory, and it's easier to backhand the left ramp, but harder to make the loops. But some say lower the flippers, but then you can't backhand the left ramp. It does change the gameplay and getting patches. Just wondering where people have set their flipper positions.

Thanks Rolls, appreciate the kind words! I’m &$@%*# amped for this pin, it’s truly a work of art. JJP built the GNR we all wanted and this thing is 100x better than the old Data East GnR, that game lasted about a month in my collection.

Hope you all have a great weekend as well, let’s keep this thread positive! I fly out on business for a week tomorrow, but when I get back, I’ve got a date with G and $&%#@* R!!! Hope the rest of the Lior mods arrive soon...still waiting for the bullet shooter and speaker kit.

#10745 2 years ago

Edit: I seem to be in the same wait times as others. Just can't wait to get this beauty!

Is there anyone else still waiting that purchased in October?

#10746 2 years ago

Congrats! Looks like we have same build date, they must have used up the last of the clear washers on yours because all mine are black. We have that same nearly imperceptible pooling on the upper playfield lock post, that’s just what mine looks like, so maybe JJP has finally turned the corner. Lets hope so.

Loving the rules of this one as I start to dig into it, broad and deep, really inspired software.

Anyone with Pinwoofer want to share their settings? Got mine installed, still trying to get the levels dialed in.

Is there anyone else still waiting that purchased in October? I purchased through cointaker Oct 13th and have heard next to nothing. I ask when and they just lie and seemingly make up dates that come and go. I've heard good things about cointaker but I'm not impressed.

I ordered on Oct 7th through Flip N Out. Recently asked for a status update and never received a reply.

I’d rather have flipper flow rather than back handable left ramp. I say lower them parallel to the guides. Plus, being able to back hand left ramp can really exploit the rules as well as make the game easier.

Congrats but please keep a close eye on the posts during the first 50-200 plays. Not to be a Debbie Downer but mine looked like that straight out of the box as well. Just keep monitoring and get after unwashered posts the first sign you notice anything. I really hope you don't and all the games here out are awesome... I would recommend inspecting every 10 games at the beginning. You will love this pin...It just keeps getting better every time I play it
