Exciting!!! I keep refreshing my browser looking for updates. Lol. Can't wait to see pics of your blades and hear how install goes.. hopefully you're "sick" the rest of the week.

Thank you... I'll keep updating... More to come! I'm off for the next 2 weeks

LOL GNR has "The best lightshow on the planet" and when does it ever look like the view on the left.

These manipulated "before" pictures are shameful. If you have a good product, let it speak for itself. Don't manipulate the stock state to look worse just so your "after" pic looks better.

I was preparing information this weekend for JJP related to a downed machine and included this spot-light issue. It looks like the info is heading to Ticket Support and Barry in the morning.

Need to say; Barry noted the issue I'm experiencing with the spotlights during ball-search is not code related. We're preparing to replace both spotlight assemblies. I'm curious what ball-search looks like on other machines.

Thanks for following up. Maybe you just have mis-programmed servos.

Mine arrived today also! No call or anything from the shippers, they just left it in my driveway. The only I reason I knew was because I got a motion alert from my security camera. Good thing my guard dog was on duty!

And when you get home you hear Guns n' Roses blaring from the neighbors house.

Here's mine. You can see the range of motion is pretty broad on the left spot, less so on the right spot.
Neither is colliding with anything.

Thank you; it is different. I'm witnessing the spotlight drive back and forth, full travel then deflect under the force of the servo. I suspect the up-down motion doesn't deflect much; it simply breaks the arm.

Can anyone share with me the dimensions of the top of the backbox (width between the sides and depth front to back) and if possible the available holes and dimensional locations on the top.

thanks in advance for any info

Neither. That's during ball search.

At any rate the alarmist panic about unplugging the servos seems misplaced to me.

The spotlights are really nice. That’s the first time I’ve got a close look at them. What a great touch to this game.

I couldn't agree more. You should see them moving with the songs, it's really a spectacle!

Quoted from zaphX:

I don’t understand how this narrative keeps popping up.
Maybe the toys are so well integrated they are being overlooked?
- Bass guitar ramp return w/ passive diverters
- Guitar lock w/ passive diverters
- Drumstick ramp return
- Crashing cymbal pop bumpers
- AXL sculpt
- Slash hat light assembly
- Record spinner
- Catwalk ramp returns
- Speaker stack diverter cover
- Hotrails!
- Fully articulated spotlights
- LED-lit Guitar Pick Spinners
- Hex Stage Lights
- Concert Jumbotron

That Is what I meant that the entire game is the toy, it is so amazing how everything is integrated!! It is very hard to understand that by looking at pictures or streams.

Usually, when a pin is announced and you look at the photos there is something you want to shoot to see what it does. WOZ it is the witch, the house, the castle and the monkey. JJPOTC the ship, the trunks s the spinning disc. EHOH the house, the crypt and the trunk.

When I looked at GNR, I saw a great looking pin with a spinner. Then I got it and like I said I was not prepared for what I was about to experience.

Okay...I am LOVING this game, unlike any I've ever played...

Now the bad news...5th game in and the right flipper goes slack...pull the playfield and see the Pawl drop from the assembly crank.

This is my first JJP, is this a Willams part and are they prone to failure? Did this thing come apart or is it salvageable, it looks blown out and a goner...I'll call my distro to let him get a warranty going, but should I get some of these as spare just in case?

So looks like JJP is moving along the LEs ordered from October. LE’s from Nov orders still yet to ship. If the bulk of GNR orders were early in Oct that’s about 7 months time to delivery. I’m hoping this lead time will shrink to 5-6 months (wishful thinking) as we move into Nov orders which should hopefully start arriving next month. So I’m guessing August/Sept before I get the call

Thank you much! Was this just a simple mechanical failure of the bolt or do I have to be extra careful when tightening the new one?

Thank you much for the quick response

#8378 3 years ago

One more question, sorry I feel like a newb again

My backglass has a little play in it and it rattles inside the backbox head. Can a simple piece of foam do the trick or am I missing something here?

Yes.

No. In 30 years I've only broken one, and it was the other end. I doubt you can. This was a freak failure.

With delivery expectations set for tomorrow, I want to be sure I can play after setup.
Since it’s going to be a 110v in a 220v power source, I asked a few months ago how to make the change. LTG can you please refer me once again to the page in the manual showing how to make the change? I can’t find that post.
also (in screenshot attached below), there is this comment to consider - someone wrote back when I originally asked....
Is this true? Do I need some sort of hardware for a 110/220 swap?
Or can I just follow the manual?
My dist and also Barry @ jjp also said this was a simple change. Thanks! Not sure I’ll be getting any sleep tonight.

Hopefully the holes on the top of the back box are for a topper , I heard JJP was going to make one for the le .
Seems a waste of time to drill them if they're not going to make one .
Hey Roller , do these holes look the same as you have on your CE .

Only place I found a CE during those crazy hours during the launch was in the states... wasn’t going to chance it and wait for the German distributor to let me know if they would have any when everything settles down. Didn’t realize what a smart move that was til the next day

I was actually offered to wait for the 220 production - but keeping in mind how long the shipping was going to take, I opted for an early 110 game knowing I’ll have to deal with this when the time comes.

I would reach out to JJP directly via a support ticket and ask them for the proper process to make the change. That way if anything goes wrong it's on them and not someone here on the forums to try and make right.

The newer bolts have the washer "welded" to the threaded portion. It's a poor design. I've broken a few. If they're over tightened, it stresses the weld point and breaks. Get an actual high grade Allen head bolt like on the older William's flipper mecs. You'll never have another problem

Does that v cutout in the bolt head do anything besides prevent the bolt from turning or is there some other purpose? I've never had issue with my Sterns allen head bolts

It just keeps it from rotating. I think sometimes the weld just isnt done properly making the joint weak. Sometimes. If you go back to the old school Allen head type bolts, you have to use an allen head wrench and a socket to loosen or tighten. With the new design, only the socket is necessary, but I feel like the old method is stronger inherently by design. Congrats on the machine btw, it's amazing. I was lucky enough to get one of the first run LEs back in Oct/Nov. Its addictive.

Thanks Scribbles

The machine is amazing...it's hard to compare it to my Sterns I have because it just doesn't compare..I mean I love them (Star Wars, JP), but this is on an entire other level. Definitely going to make future shopping for pins harder as the bar has been raised significantly..But that could also be easier on the wallet

Easiest software update ever! My LE came preinstalled with 1.19. Connected to my internet, downloaded, installed new code in a matter of minutes, I don't think it was a full minute! Rebooted and whalla! From the stories on heard on here I was expecting something else. This was lightning fast and painless

I had the same experience last night going to 1.21 from 1.19. Love the simplicity!

The wifi updates are great when they work. I'll agree to that. Super slick.

I do think JJP needs to start including a USB thumb drive for updating, with all of their machines though. Wifi clearly doesn't always work.

I wonder how many times I open a JJP thread only to find that all of the new comments are about not being able to update the game and trying many different USB thumb drives. Something is wonky with these games and they are picky with their choice of USB sticks. Would be nice for JJP to just include one that works, since they know it's going to be needed.

I bet if you could filter out the posts about trying to update the machine, we would have 10 less pages in this thread.

Wait, you can't choose to use USB at all? That sucks.

#8396 3 years ago

It sure is! I like the jackpot feature. You feel the pain of losing a multimillion point jackpot and the glory of obtaining a multimillion jackpot. Got my first 50M+ jackpot last night! Not sure when I will get another. But the risk/reward structure is great. I look forward to potential future updates along this line of scoring.

I also like the change up with the multi-balls. Being able to flipper hold during certain multi-balls and being forced to try not to flipper hold during songs. It makes you change your technique throughout the game.

I think this game has made me a better player!

Quoted from javagrind888:

You can update via USB stick. It's just that JJP machines are really picky on what brand of stick you use. I found one that worked for me long ago and have used it since.

The unboxing pictures are epic...thanks...looks like quite a few LE owners are starting to receive their orders. I'm curious....did those of you in the US that are receiving LEs over the last month or so order JJP direct or through a distributor? I bought an SE last year in the meantime to get a feel for the game, but traded that a couple months ago...starting to get the itch to play it again!!
