Congrats .
It must be a nice feeling knowing it's sitting there .
Half the fun is unboxing and getting that new pinball smell .
I've got a long wait ahead of me but I'm loving living through everyone and watching them receiving their games .

6 days and counting till mine is here, patience is a bitch and a good song.

They still working through the CE's? Any word when they'll start LE's again? I haven't heard a peep from JJP since they took my LE deposit back in early Oct so just checking in here.

#5903 3 years ago

hope so. didnt get mine yet .. The Tension is growing

Nothing yet but on the positive side your deposit made a 2x profit which you rarely see in Pinball! Hope they roll soon.

Word. I requested a refund back in October when they told me “early to mid 2021” as an estimate. It was denied and now I’m less sorry. Though I wasnt too concerned anyway as I still want to own the machine.

#5906 3 years ago

I cheated and opened the instructions before my mates got here.

gnr4 (resized).jpggnr4 (resized).jpg

Can't wait to unbox this thing.

#5907 3 years ago

FYI, You don't need to unplug anything to update your game via USB. ANY USB slot available will do the job. Just saying...

#5908 3 years ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

Looking for some tech help:
Magnet just stopped working. Anyone know where to start looking? I checked underneath and connections seem good. Maybe a fuse?
EDIT: doesn’t seem to be the fuse as that fuse is tied into the upper right flipper and ramp diverter, both of which are working.

If bypassing the resistor on the magnet doesn't work, check the transistor (Q328) on the driver board. Might have blown it.

Still haven’t had full payment request from JJP for my CE yet. So it’s still gonna be a bit...

Thanks, thinking about trying to talk the others into matchpaly on this machine only for Sunday Silverball this week. Don't think they'll go for it though.

Comp days are always fun, but this one's gunna be special. Might even get the good drugs out for this one

Yes. There is a resistor taped (literally) to the magnet coil that fails. You can bypass it (remove the resistor from the coil) and/or contact JJP for a replacement.

Thanks. Sounds like JJP (Steve) works saturdays and already working on sending me out a new one.

Blew away my previous high score today. Even played the No Sympathy for the Devil mode.

I'm pretty sure it is mentioned in this article as well:

BTW, that's a fun read. I never even knew the article existed till last week.

Do you know how to tighten the spinning record to stop it wobbling ?
height adjustment is ok, but I could not find how to stabilize it, so from time to time a ball get stuck at the edge of the spinning record and the playfield.

Where exactly is this resistor? Is it under the paper?

Yeah it's under the wrap, the baby bump. If you open it up please post pics, I'm curious what's under there.

#5925 3 years ago
Quoted from estrader:

Does anyone’s right spot light(when facing the machine) move up and down only? Mine has almost zero left or right movement. Thanks in advance.

Follow the wires to the controller board under the playfield and reset them. This worked for me.

#5926 3 years ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

Yep, cut the wrapper, remove the resistor, attached with black tape under the coil wrapper, wrap winding on lug instead of the resistor. Magnet will work again.

#5927 3 years ago

Before doing that, I would understand what that resister does. It’s gotta be there for a reason.

It could be okay, but make sure first.

It's listed in the manual as a thermal fuse.

Probably best to just wait for what replacement JJP sends me. Best not to make things worse. It’s not too game changing of a magnet, and might get me to play my other games for once

Extra balls are next to impossible without the magnet.

Think April and everything will be ok

#5935 3 years ago

I love the callouts in this game. I heard some new ones recently. I could be wrong but I don't think they were part of the recent code updates given the change log listing. I think they are just less frequent ones.

Two great ones were both when I was waiting to plunge (or maybe I was cycling through the patches). Melissa says, "Let's go! This is how a riot starts." Clearly a call out to old GNR being super late to go on stage and making the audience wait...which sometimes resulted in some "issues." Another one was from Duff while waiting a while to plunge, which was something along the lines of "This reminds me of St. Louis." For those not aware, this is a clear reference to the Riverport Riot (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riverport_Riot).

Any other cool and less frequent callouts that you guys are hearing?

Ok so installed 1.13 with 1.14 patch. Downloaded then it said finishing updating with the red bar.. all sweet. But the current code still says 1.07.

Have I missed an install step

Im sure I am missing something but I think there is some refinement to do on the wifi updates. Ive had to do each update numerous times.

File will download, then seemingly nothing happens. File will download, error message verifying. Then 3rd time usually a charm. This isnt normal, but assume its a symptom of something new.

I tightened the white nut under neigh. I had the same exact problem. Did it by hand and it seems to be fine so far.

Adjusted mine yesterday because of the side to side wobble that started happening. Began to get stuck balls on the record because it dipped a little.

I removed the white plastic nut underneath and hand adjusted the height of the record, made sure it sat flush and tightened up with the white nut.

Info on a speaker bar topper I made for my CE. Might be helpful for the DIY type here

Is the shaker meant to register on the Richter scale? Feels like it’s going to bring the house down. I can’t seem to find any shaker intensity settings in the menu.

There is a setting but it just reduces how often the shaker goes off, not the intensity. I tuned it down but it ruined the ‘you could be mine’ song effect so turned it back. But, for someone who hates shakers as much as keefer does, you’d think it would be more subtle. Ah well, I’m used to it now, just turn the volume up haha.

Having problems with my bottom right flipper out of the box. It stopped firing and i adjusted the switch and it worked fine. Then it stopped firing again and i readjusted the switch. Now it drops when the ball hits it.

I'm not much good at the maintenance side so if it's an easy solution you can laugh at me.

Also my LE came with a scratch on the siderail from the hinge rubbing against it. I'll fire an email off to my distributor this morning, but a shame to see the ugly scar.

If it says 1.07, then the update failed.

If doing WiFi follow what the screen says carefully.

I wonder if the game is trying to do the short 1.14 instead of the Full Install of 1.13 ? If so try the old fasioned way to do the 1.13 full install.

Nice write-up MT45 and I bet that sounds really great. It looks great too.

As you did, I also noticed that the line-out sound level coming off the PC's motherboard is really low. However Bluetooth is not, in fact it is about twice as strong per my highly unscientific analysis which involved looking at where the on-screen horizontal volume-slider level needs to be set when using line-out in order for it to approximate what you get when connected via Bluetooth. In essence, if you put the line-out volume to 98% the Bluetooth will match it when it is set to about 50%. No idea what's going on there, but yeah.

FWIW, for my solution, and because the LEs lack that sweet mounting plate that you have on your CE, I found an amplified sound bar (on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DYZB8PC/ ) that is 30" across and sits almost even with the width of the head itself on its small rubber feet. Best I could do, but still a notable improvement over stock. It also comes with a wireless 'woofer' (I think the driver is 5" so yeah, won't call it a subwoofer but at least it makes itself heard) while also allowing for an external powered sub, like the Polks that are popular here, to also be connected and active at the same time as all the rest which was perfect for what I needed.

Yours sure looks sweet

Very nice! Yea - that output at line level is miniscule. You gave me an idea - the FOSI is Bluetooth capable, I might try that connection. Wondering if you experience any delay in the BT connection?
Singing on screen still synchronized?

#5948 3 years ago

Mine also just started having an issue with the left flipper. When I go in to test mode and hit the right fliper in blinks once. When I hit the left flipper, it blinks multiple times. When I play the left flipper is irratic. Sometimes it will flip twice, other times it is weak, or delayed.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like your leaf switch for the left flipper button is bent too far away from the button post and isn't making good contact when depressed (or the wire isn't soldered on the switch well and about to fall off). Take a pic of that area and post. Try bending the switch leaves closer to the button post when it's at rest so they make contact quicker and more solidly when the button is depressed.
