I have both Team one and Abra ca daba
ACD is on my top 5 wedgehead list
BUT...... I have been playing team one for a few months now and I must say it plays better. the rules are a bit different and it is a bit harder. the art is lacking but is is a great player even as a AAB

now that the weather is warmer i put all the bg back into the machines that are in the garage

20140424_161059.jpg20140424_161059.jpg 20140424_161123.jpg20140424_161123.jpg 20140424_161238.jpg20140424_161238.jpg all.jpgall.jpg

here is one I just got that I thought I would try and save, the only issue is the guts of the head are missing.
I pulled the inserts to test clean the PF

smoke damage... this was the last of 4 from a house fire. this was also incomplete the others were complete
atlantis, king pin and el dorado were all restored.
they all started out like this or even worse

i found the guts for the abra head, now i need a few other parts to make it complete.
anyone have the following
used backglass just has to be presentable( i am sure someone upgraded to a new webb glass)
plastics i need them all but the top center, the others are all broken to some degree

#55 9 years ago
Quoted from MikeO:

So I assume that means the head cabinet will not be coming my way?
Mike O.

no mike, i have a spare head. since i will have to repaint the cabinet i will just repaint the spare head to match and you get the good one.
i am working on finding a shipping box to get it to you..

#56 9 years ago
Quoted from stashyboy:

I think the plastics are being (or have been) done by Pin Rescue, though I think their prices are kind of crazy. PBR does some of the same sets for almost half the price!
Are you leveling all the inserts? or were they loose? or both?

i am trying to restore this on the cheap. so someone can have a abra for a low cost pin (i enjoys resurrecting the dead)
the inserts popped right out when i first started to clean the pf they are back in and level
pin rescue is high but i am glad someone is rescreening plastics so i won't bitch, i just wish they would do more partial sets. most pins have that one or two plastics that are always broken the others are nice. i hate buying a complete set just to get one plastic.

#58 9 years ago

i thought it would be hard also, but got lucky another pinsiders brother had some parts from a AcD
it should turn out to be good machine when done, i will try to find it a local home
yet another wedgehead saved from the dead.

Quoted from DirtFlipper:

Aw, a C37 bit the dust?
No pedestal?

the AcD head with original paint is going to mikeO and I used one of the spare heads I had from a bunch of empty cabs I picked up a while back
the neck is red and will get painted when I do the red stencil

#91 9 years ago

me too

Quoted from MikeO:

If it was close enough to be able to pick up I would bite with the pictures he has provided.

#94 9 years ago
Quoted from hoov:

If I was in the market to buy a Abra I would too. Just saying if he wants a quick - smooth sale post more pics. Problem with eBay sellers is they don't think like we do

dave you are correct but most of the time the bad or lack of pictures are done for a reason to NOT show the bad
The buyer gets it and surprise !! the PF is worn or there is a big hole in the bottom! or some other problem.
always ask for more pics
that's my modus operandi

#112 9 years ago

now to put it back together and shake out the bugs!

20140710_004435.jpg20140710_004435.jpg
#116 9 years ago
Quoted from hoov:

Looks great.
Ready for the bg?
Can ship Monday or Tuesday.

dave let me put it together and get it working and i'll pm you then
if you want the funds now I can make that happen now

#119 9 years ago
Quoted from swampfire:

Very nice! Did you make the stencils yourself, or are they available to buy?

I make the myself

#120 9 years ago

back together plugged it in and BLAM! it started and played
that doesn't happen to often a few little bugs but nothing to bad
anyone interested in it LMK

#125 9 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

Nice! Way to pull it out of the fire.

literally......

with this missing the head guts it would of got parted by 99.99% of us but I took a chance and got lucky and found everything pretty easy
it will be a nice player, it just needs to find a new owner

#137 9 years ago

damn it i thought something was wrong
i could figure out why that thing wouldn't put

#141 9 years ago

no it is real, talked to the guy about the flying carpet next to it
loose inserts are pretty common on the 74-76 gottliebs low quality aminal glue

#143 9 years ago

lots of touchups on the pf

#146 9 years ago

just re glue them no need to replace unless they are trashed or broken

advance bonus G also ties with the 500 point relay F
haven't really followed this thread but just fixed the advance bonus not advancing issue on a buddies ACD it was the N.O. switch between G & F

Quoted from EM-PINMAN:

I'm now sadly out of the club but when you only have room for 5 machines that's how it sometimes goes

you kept sure shot over abra? wow
i like sure shot but i think abra is much more of a player

#254 7 years ago
Quoted from EM-PINMAN:

Yep.

Yep again.

I agree that Abra is the better player but that does not take away from Sure Shot being a fun and challenging game. Sure Shot is a great B title and I am OK with having a mix of A & B titles in my arcade. I'm just glad I got a substitute pin that I really like in good condition for a nice price. Currently it boils down to money in our household as 2016 has been rough for us. I sold Abra for a price I could not refuse out of necessity to someone who just had to have it.

i agree if i need to move something the good games always sell faster and for more $$$
if you want another down the road it isn't a title that can not be replaced

Quoted from Playdium:

When I got this machine the ground at the coin door was not connected. After i connected it, as soon as a rollover is activated my GFI trips. Happens every time. I then disconnected the ground from the door and find the machine plays fine. I followed the GR-Y from the coin door lead to the power switch and then back to the transformer. No signs of a cross.
Any ideas?

check the fish paper on the start button and the coin drop switches
the door has a ground

Quoted from woz:

I am restoring my ACD playfield and could really do with some pics of the pop bumper areas without the pop bumpers installed. I will be repainting that area as it is worn down to wood and I can't find any decent pics. Thanks!
I found this but it is a redraw and is the best I have so far...
