It should go without saying that taking medical advice from a gameshow host is strongly inadvisable.

Quoted from wesman:We never know or will know what goes on in the world of wealthy elites.
Everything is relative. To some, we are wealthy elites, able to afford expensive furniture toys.
Quoted from Daditude:I should have posted the linear curve. It's already scary.
The one that’s almost a straight vertical line?
Quoted from chad:Anyone spraying down their grocery items prior to picking up? Saw a lady in gloves and mask spraying the packages on the shelf before handling them.
Aldi in my area now has the 6 foot floor stickers now and the giant plastic shields up.
It was nice to see employees out wiping the carts down and providing wipes inside for the customers. I'm sure this put some minds at ease. Also learned Aldi is donating $1 million dollars to various charitable ( covid 19) needs during these rather strenuous times!!
My approach is:
- Gloves and mask when shopping
- When I get home, transfer the items from the plastic grocery sacks into cloth bags I own, wiping each one with lysol wipes as I do it.
This is the worst timeline ever.
Quoted from PinJim:But I couldn’t help but wonder: will people get pissed at those who choose to go mask free? As if we are putting others at risk?
Yes.
Quoted from DaveH:I’m fully vaccinated, and I’ll continue to wear a mask out in the world. In stores, picking up takeout, generally where I’m around people.
Same. I'll be glad when this is all behind us - none of us enjoy the masks - but to me it's to respect others and show I'm not a sociopathic asshole.
It comes down to the vaccine holdouts now. The sooner they gain immunity (or thin out) the sooner we'll be back to normal.
Quoted from cottonm4:1) Would it be practical to wear these masks to keep the flu from putting you down?
Last fall my doctor told me he hadn't had a single flu case for the first time, due to masking.
Quoted from DakotaMike:And at what level does the virus need to get down to for us fully vax-ed people to be able to relax?
I know there's a lot of FUD around "vaccine passports" but I really feel the lack an easily verifiable (and difficult to forge) proof of vax is a big miss.
Imagine if everyone's DL could get scanned on entry to a restaurant/club/etc...and then everyone within can just RELAX like the old days?
We'll get there eventually, but right now there's no way to differentiate a vaccinated person from non.
Quoted from Daditude:I had a very difficult day today. I visited with my friends dad. For those that have not been following along, my friend died from covid. He was very young. His family is hurting. I am hurting. Please send them your thoughts and prayers.
I'm very sorry about this Daditude.
When people claim COVID is fake, or has a 99.99% survival rate, these stories are the ones I think of.
People I know have lost loved ones. I've had some friends get it and recover, but I've also had ones get "long haul" COVID and they are just not the same any more (mental fog etc.)
I'm really glad we're approaching the end of this mess due to amazing vaccine technology, and furious that people's selfishness and ignorance allowed us to lose so many lives.
Quoted from Luckydogg420:Honest question. Most people say a sore arm is the worst side effect of the vaccine. I notice on tv the vaccine is being given into peoples left arm; I assume this is so that their dominant arm is unaffected.
I’m left handed, should I get the vaccine in my right arm, does it matter? If my arm is sore for a day, I’d prefer it to be the one I don’t use.
Mostly this is because people are driving through clinics, I think. I was offered the other arm if I wanted.
