I have been thinking about this a lot lately and my question is will the Coronavirus change your life in other ways to be more healthy long term?

I see so many people worried about virus and the spread yet they continue to have other horrible habits that effect their health but don’t ever seem to focus on them.

Will people stop eating shit, drinking alcohol, smoking and start exercising regularly?

I don’t understand the people that don’t take care of themselves, basically killing themselves from vices but then going hyper crazy over the virus.

Think if we gave cancer and heart disease the kind of attention we have given the virus. Those are the true killers yet no one pays attention to them.

A friend of mine who is a first responder in California says any death, if the person has a fever or cough is being classified as corona at this point until Possibly tested postmortem.

I am not going to get into an argument here. But one thing I don't understand, is do you guys take other areas of your health as serious as you take covid protection?

I sure see a lot of people in my area that fear Covid (vaccinated), that smoke, drink, eat shit and do no exercise. I am not saying this is either or situation. Just making a point.

Imagine if everyone took their health in all areas of life as they treat Covid.

It would certainly be interesting to see what the world would look like.

Quoted from fosaisu:

There's probably a "people that smoke, drink, eat shit and do no exercise" thread (o-din must have started one or two over the years). But as you know those are all different because they only indirectly affect other people. If you don't get vaccinated or are otherwise careless and thereby get me or my family infected, you've messed up my day in a very different way than knowing I'll probably have to pay higher insurance premiums to cover your self-inflicted type-two diabetes. And if you start doing situps but still don't vaccinate, good for you but you're still imposing your risky lifestyle choices on me and mine.

Personally I sum up that sentiment as "Where is the outrage?". It's normally followed by a list of things that the person asking will state are being ignored.
The normal response is that Covid is different. If someone is dying of heart disease, they will not give me heart disease if I chat with them at the store. I won't catch it if they come over to have a cup of coffee with me. I won't get it if I drive them to an appointment at their cardiologist.
Covid is taken more seriously... because Covid is more serious. Infectious diseases will always get more attention than something you gave yourself from eating too many cupcakes.</blockquote

Dude is vaccinated and scared to take a car ride with a family member. I just don’t get and never will. All about everyone doing what they are comfortable with.

I am all for vaccination, just have no idea how every other illness is not treated like Covid.

Dude is vaccinated and wont take a ride with a family member just doesn’t make sense to me.

I am all for vaccination I just don’t understand how covid is treated so much differently than all other illness.

I will let you guys go back to hoarding and preparing for doomsday scenarios.

And the dudes smoking, drinking, and eating like shit also clog up your ERs and increase medical costs as well. Probably more over the long term.
