Quoted from phil-lee:

My Daughter received her "Essential Employee" Letter today which will get her through the roadblocks.
We used to watch War Movies and always responded when the Nazi Guard demanded "Papers!".
I understand why they are doing it, this is just the first time it has been so in your face. I guess License Checks
are really the same thing. There will be many that are soon faked so people can continue to drive around.

In what state do they have roadblocks?

Where have the political police gone? For FS can't we get a thread without politics? Maybe start a separate thread where political warfare is officially allowed??

Quoted from zr11990:

What is worse is what they are doing to the economy. It’s a upper respiratory virus. It’s death rate is what, 1.5%? More people die from the flue every year. More people die from obesity and/or car accidents. Watch how many people die from the fucked up economy due to blowing this out of proportion.

You have a big puffy chest until one of your family or friends is infected. Then the reality will sink in. If someone had a bowl of 100 skittles and tells you a couple of them will cause you a certain death, are you going to eat one?

Quoted from o-din:

Get a used one with 100,000 miles on it and it will be just like new.

If it's made by GM it will be all rusted out far before it hits 100k miles.

Quoted from taylor34:

The really weird thing about the income limit is that I feel there a lot of people in that range (making right over 100k) who are completely out of work right (small business owners, salesman, people in the hotel industry, etc). Like the income limit makes sense, it's just that it was at a level that kind of penalizes higher cost of living areas like the coasts. Should have been a limit of like 200k per person, wouldn't have cost that much more.

I'm not a fan of the program at all. The money should go to those that are eligible for unemployment benefits regardless of salary. As an example, I will receive $3,400, but my household income has not been impacted at all by COVID-19. Doesn't really make sense. I will put the money in my bank account and use it to pay the future tax increases we will be receiving to pay back the "stimulus".

Quoted from ImNotNorm:

Never thought I'd have an N95 hanging from my rear view mirror....but here we are.[quoted image]

You better hide that like a radar detector. Otherwise someone will break your window to get it!
