I stocked up on French Vanilla creamer. I’m very grumpy without coffee.

Looks like gasoline being added to the fire from every angle. Now there is concern about spontaneous alcohol withdrawal from the liquor stores closing.

And here we go again...

Here’s something informative and relevant to this site. Just started putting more stuff in my Marco cart so I can at least work on games, and this notice popped up.

I did just get another order three days ago without any delay. But this notice wasn't there then.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

If that’s going on here in nyc I can’t imagine how seriously the rest of the country is taking this.

Very seriously. Barely anybody is out in the Philly suburbs where I live (Bucks County). Riding around in an ambulance, and not much activity at all.

Certainly no group gatherings or pick-up shirts vs. skins basketball games going on in my neck of the woods. Thankfully.

“Now you’re in New York...concrete jungle where dreams are made of, there’s nothing you can’t do.” I blame Alicia Keyes.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Wonderful.
So when this is all over the only people left will be Eagles fans!

Well, when this is who you’ve had leading...

Quoted from RWH:

Quoted from Jaybird815:

It’s definitely the apocalypse, my wife just cooked dinner.

You all had me LMFAO that entire page. Thanks...needed a laugh. Like good ol’ times on here.

Quoted from o-din:

One side takes a stand,

You mean like Stephen King’s “The Stand”?

Ironically, also a movie about the end of the world from disease (or the Devil). Awesome intro scene with Don’t Fear the Reaper from Blue Öyster Cult playing though.

That’s what so many people aren’t getting about this. And it’s so damn simple. Two weeks is all we need.

In that time, anybody in self-isolation with it would’ve developed symptoms, and if you don’t you are clear. Those that have it will stay secluded, or would be receiving appropriate medical care (subject to availability). The rest of the country could start to resume normal activities...slowly and cautiously.

But that would only be if EVERYBODY cooperates.

Quoted from o-din:

They are doing this to prevent an all at once overwhelming of the healthcare system.

True, but we could get this thing under wraps if we were all truly vigilant.

Do you know what scares the hell out of me? Nothing that would happen to me from this, even death.

I have a 6 year-old daughter, not 7 until July. She has pretty bad asthma. Anything happening to her, or me feeling bad for the person at the hospital that tells me I’m not allowed to be in a room with her if it came to that. There is no fucking way I would leave her alone to deal with anything from this. That is my biggest fear.

Quoted from BobSacamano:

Israeli medical doctor Gai Peleg told Israeli television that in northern Italy the orders are not to allow those over 60 access to respiratory machines.

Wow.

#1728 4 years ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

This is true BUT...we are more divided than ever politically so something has got to give eventually. The shit will hit the fan eventually and people will have to choose their side.

Aaandddd...we’re somehow back to the circuitous, cyclical banter about right vs. left.

Quoted from Tuukka:

This thread is giving the impression that US is the only part of the world suffering from corona virus.

Not the intent at all. I’m sure. I for one am sympathetic and empathetic to where this is happening all over the world. Especially Italy.

Quoted from Frax:

The biggest truth bomb I've seen dropped in a while. Hoo-boy! That's a zinger, folks. You don't have to submit your free will to the military to serve your country.

With all due respect, I would hope nobody is comparing “running their mouth” or “verbally advocating” to someone who actively served and contributed blood, sacrifice, sweat and tears to our country’s military.

That would be more moronic than the kids down in Florida.

Time to stick together folks, and be the country we are supposed to be.

Georgia’s Stonehenge! Watched a two hour special on Discovery about it. Pretty cool.

Sorry my ignorance but can't you get goods delivered thru the mail?

That doesn’t help me in the instant moment.

Quoted from Gryszzz:

Korn had a great album?

First album was definitely great...and Peachy was a good follow up. It’s not Subliminal Verses though...damn you Joey Jordison!

Took a break to get some work done, shop a few of my games, get some things done around the house, ponder life.

I couldn't fathom reading the 100+ pages since I was last on, but glad to see everybody still hotdoggin.

#8855 4 years ago
Quoted from Atari_Daze:

I don't think you missed anything!

I hear you George. I think last time I was in this thread it had 78 pages. I wasn’t about to read 6400 new posts.

Good video posted with Trevor Noah above though. Somewhat reassuring.

I see a lot of people starting to get cabin fever though, so I would assume that more and more people might start venturing out. That could cause a problem.

#8856 4 years ago
Quoted from Who-Dey:

You didnt miss anything and half of the people have been ejected from the thread for talking politics.

Hahaha. Yeah, I saw the new added rules disclaimer posted at the bottom of the thread page too. That’s a first.

#8859 4 years ago
Quoted from Wickerman2:

Tuesday’s calls were related to the outbreak that has already killed over 5,400 people across the state and infected 140,386 more

I think this is my third week of the stay at home order in PA, and working remotely. Assuming three weeks for most people.

Has anybody seen a comparative statistic on how much the numbers have gone down with three weeks of quarantine, vs. before the measures were taken by more than 20 states?

I wonder how much, if at all, we have a flattened the curve already.

#8868 4 years ago
Quoted from Mr68:

There have been two people here that announced the deletion of their entire Pinside account because of this thread and then followed through. Misguided and overly dramatic IMO.

Crap...who? I must’ve skipped over that dramatic adventure.

#8889 4 years ago
Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:

Here in MN, even though traffic is way down, accidents involving deaths is about double from last year. Seems the main reason is speeding.

There are certainly a lot less police out, so I would assume you will continue to see that.

Quoted from jhanley:

Yup. After doing some research...IE Google.. I keep 4oz in the morning discard the rest and then feed it twice that day. It is bubbling but will not float yet. I am guessing a couple more days.

Speaking of flour, isn't it isopropyl I mix that with to clean the mylar residue off of a playfield? I have to tackle my Lizard in the next day or two, and thought I would bring this thread full circle to our hobby.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Yeah man! Now she’s up and running too. Interesting game. You know you’re bored when you start hand polishing coin doors.

Luckily we all have this hobby, and some games to consume some time. Playing or fixing.

Here’s my quarantine project. Just finished the paint restoration this evening. Hopefully I’ll be able to start to clear it this weekend.

Right? Paint resto looks great...nice color matching.

Finished Hulk this morning, now ripping apart Lizard and DD, while playing with some of my Spidey resto. At least my games are getting happy during quarantine.

Opening up three games at once is either a sign of: 1) some serious motivation...or 2) that I’ve completely gone off the friggin deep end from cabin fever.

Shame on you!!! Please do all shopping before Easter Sunday. If no one shops on Easter Sunday they will be forced to close and give the workers off to spend with their family. Since it's considered a religious holiday we don't even get any extra pay.

I got an email that Lowes is closed for the holiday nation-wide. Wanted to give their employees a much deserved break. Kudos to them.

Not yet on Halloween. Well, very little. Got really pissed off when the guy doing the art took my $1k, then months later said he couldn’t finish it and gave me a bunch of crap draft drawings totally different than what I had wanted.

I have been working on compiling a different art package with a friend, so should be getting back to it soon once I’m done with the Spidey resto. Maybe sooner.

You just got 2 new machines, you should be happy. I know I would.

I am somewhat, don’t get me wrong.

Ghost Town was a truck bed to truck bed transfer, slid the envelope of money to him. Transaction time was 3 minutes.

Grabbed the Contact from an elderly couple that contacted me a couple months ago. Her husband died, so she now wanted it out. I had full PPE, didn’t come within 30 feet of her, had to disassemble the game and pull it up 12 basement stairs sideways on the hand truck by myself (her doorways weren’t wide enough for a wide body), and load it up.

Total time out of the house was about three hours for both pick ups. And frankly, for something I’m usually excited about, it was physically arduous, and a complete reminder of how screwed up things really are given the way I had to do it.

Quoted from too-many-pins:

Colson, You will not have that one long - plays slow and becomes a real waste of time quickly. I have owned 3 of them that were all super nice. Reason they always are nice is no one ever played one a second time when they were in arcades. Contact is actually a wide body Space Mission but Space Mission plays a heck of a lot better. Went we got our first one I couldn't wait to play it - after 10 minutes I couldn't wait to get rid of it.

Way to piss on my parade Skip. I’ve seen a few of them that were beat to hell, so some people played them.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I’m actually enjoying the game. It plays way differently, and not many Williams games with 4 flippers. Plus I find it interesting that the flipper buttons have double leaf switches, whereby you only activate the main flippers if you push the buttons in halfway, and have to push them in all the way to activate all 4. That adds an interesting element.

Plus, my 7 year-old daughter is really loving it. So that’s good enough for me.

Quoted from too-many-pins:

My standing joke about those Williams Super Wide Body machines is hit the ball off the flipper then go get a cup of coffee or a beer while you are waiting for the ball to make it back down to the flipper.

No sweat. Just don’t post in my for sale thread if I create one eventually.

I have this one set up to play fast. 3 inch casters on the back, 2 inch on the front. Set to 7°. Ball moves. I actually find most wide bodies (Bally, Williams, Atari, Sys 80) don’t play well simply because people don’t have them set up right.

#11686 3 years ago

Curious. I’ve read a superfluous amount of information since this stuff started, as most have.

Does anybody believe that it’s realistic that we start to reopen consistent with the 3-phase plan, and that it would be safe for the most part as long as people continue to practice social distancing, the constant wipe down of commonly touched areas, wearing masks, etc.?

To me it sounds good in theory, but it definitely seems like there would be a significant risk for another spike in infections.

Another bothersome story, especially for those that think this virus is only targeting “old people.”

And the problem with her case seems to be the immunologic compromise resulting from COVID, which led to the secondary development of meningitis and cerebral edema. Her mom is a cop and her dad’s a firefighter. Horrible.

For those who think this virus is a hoax, some political ploy, exaggerated, and so on...I thought I’d share my grief. I haven’t visited this thread in quite some time due to the annoying nonsense.

I just lost an uncle yesterday morning at 4:36 a.m. I was very close with, but haven’t seen in a few months because of COVID.

He and my aunt tested positive three weeks ago. Went three or four days with only a fever and the sniffles. On the 5th day, suddenly had respiratory insufficiency and was taken to the hospital. During the next week, deteriorated to ventilator, then vent-dependent and BP went way down.

Last week, the 3rd week, renal failure and cytokine storm. This past weekend - TIA’s and multi-systemic organ failure.

He was 63, and a big, overall healthy guy, slightly overweight. 6’3” 240 pounds. No prior significant health history or exacerbating factors. My daughter’s favorite relative. Gone.

How many of you spent the few hours it took to read the clinical trial documentation before you rolled up your sleeve?

I haven’t been on this thread for a long time, and haven’t called anybody unvaccinated an idiot or any of the other terms that you used.

But I did read the clinical trials before I got my Pfizer shots, and a ton of other information. I also spoke with my doctor about potential complications, and observed other people I knew that had gotten the vaccine before I did.

I also hold my opinion that if everyone were vaccinated two months ago, Covid wouldn’t necessarily be nonexistent in this country, but nobody would be getting seriously ill or dying from it with the exception of certain individuals with pre-existing comorbidities.
