This just in, Harvey Weinstein tests positive for Corona Virus.

It shouldn't be used as a term because Asian people are being harassed. Throwing meat to his base by being a "Bad Boy" is not helping those people in their everyday lives. Those are his people too.
Just because he can't have his hateful rallies does not excuse his behavior during this crisis. He needs to be a calming factor, not an inciter.

I helped Paul lug up our Comet to the living room to take our minds off of the craziness. I only suggested it as a joke, but he calls me to the basement earlier and had it wrapped ready to bring up.
Most people want to get their pins out of their living rooms. Guess we're a little different.

It was during his fox news town hall. Apparently he is already backing off on the Easter timeline. Someone put a little bit of sense into him.

#2668 4 years ago
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Got the town hall, cant find a source for that conclusion....Thin Air?

Lol, oh you mean his rational for saying that? Now your asking me to get in that huge head, and I'm not going there!

#2685 4 years ago
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Well it is just weird.
I am having a group email that is including, Australia, England, Germany, and 3 different US States,
Australia and England mentioned Suicide increases, England doesnt recall, Australia is an officer stating experience. Then Trump stated same today.
I find it uncanny.

He was referencing '29 like o-din said. Your email might be people feeling hopeless, sick, paranoid.. Could be a lot of things.

Quoted from arcademojo:

Even though I’m still working I can’t go anywhere after work so built this little pedestal. Converting a GT 2005 to this with 43” monitor. Work still in progress.[quoted image]

I'm suddenly in an awesome time machine looking at your floor!

#3252 4 years ago
Quoted from arcademojo:

I've had sooo many knocks on that carpet here on Pinside for the 6 years I've been on. I'm going to have to have a charity auction selling off swatches of the carpet when I finally tear it out.

It's amazing, don't touch it! I'm serious. It looks brandy new!

That's a human petri dish right there

Me to Paul: We're living through a shitshow.. a scary, scary shitshow

Paul (not missing a beat): Do you think we should put yellow rubbers on Taxi?

Me: LOL .... no.

Cuomo making a historic speech right now. wow.

#4090 4 years ago

He was talking to the people working in this fight of how they will look back on all of this 10 years from now and shed a tear because of all the bad stuff they will have seen, but they will know that they showed up and helped.
I can't do it justice. Should be required viewing.

#4093 4 years ago

He got applause after from the army corp. He's just taking questions now. It will be all over the place later. Powerful stuff.

Quoted from Atari_Daze:

21 more days till their possible peak, damn!

Hopefully that's a worse case scenario. Along with that, makes you think about what the rest of us are looking at time wise for peak. We're about 4 hours from NYC, and we're seeing big spikes. Guess we're next on stage.

#4130 4 years ago

Following up on my earlier post. Here's Cuomo's briefing today. Overall very informative, but if you want to see a heck of a speech to workers, jump to 35 minutes. It starts about there.

#4194 4 years ago
Quoted from arcademojo:

Dang too hard to keep up with this thread when at work. It sure if this has been posted. York county PA is now on stay at home alert. Over 200 new cases yesterday.[quoted image]

This is Exactly why I just returned from a 45 min drive to the Susquehanna and back through the woods in my convertible. It was wonderful.

If this don't get me a highlighted post, nothing will.

That lady is a rock star.

Quoted from Bublehead:

RIP Borneo, aka Mr. Bitey. :’-(

Sorry for your loss, Buble. Losing our fur friends is simply terrible.

I'm very lucky that Paul has been cutting his own hair long before we met, so he need not fear my hair cutting skills for him.

As for me, I've always been a tomboy and also cut my own hair. Saves a lot of money and I don't like fancy haircuts, too much upkeep for me.

I can't imagine what high maintenance ladies are doing right now, they must be freaking out. They can't go to the hair dresser or get their nails did. I'm sure many are making home visits, as dumb a move as that is.

#6032 4 years ago

Ok, don't think anyone else guessed, it's Graham Kerr, isn't it?

#6035 4 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

Yes, I am the galloping gourmet this week.

Yay! I knew watching countless cooking shows with my mom as a wee little girl would pay off some day!

#6201 4 years ago

Anyone needing a laugh. This one had me rolling.

Quoted from EJS:

That article has a ton of asterisks and I don't see where they are trying to declare what they mean by that?

Some people use the asterisk after his name to denote his impeachment. Kind of like Barry Bond's homerun record with an asterisk. He has the title, but with a caveat.

#6308 4 years ago
Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

Why in the world are they talking about the war on drugs during the Corona briefing?

"Hey guys, I know I messed up on the corona, but I'm sure gonna get those drug guys!! I'm doing SOMEthing right...right?!?"

wow.

#6313 4 years ago
Quoted from Rezdog:

Have we just jumped the shark?

I think we jumped it long ago, this is a painfully obvious bait and switch.

#6394 4 years ago
Quoted from Rondogg:

Test for antibodies could be a game changer.

It's all about this. Finding those antibodies not only leads to a vaccine, but having a quick home test that has been used for other diseases (read an article earlier on it, can't find it now) would tell you if you have had corona virus already.
That would be a way for people to be able to get back to work without fear.

About a month ago I had a few days where I had deep aches in every joint in my body and low grade fever, felt dizzy at times and a bit of a cough. Did I have it? I'd love to know.

Quoted from RTR:

All this mumbling about "what is a fact really? Don't be blind, get your head out of the sand! what do we really know? No one wants to hear the real hard truths. Evidence is being suppressed... blah blah blah" is getting tiresome.

I call it malicious static.

It's best everyone just ignore it.

Quoted from pinmeds:

It is important to note the oversized text disclaimer inside the red box on the Macrotrends site related to the 2020 figures cited above;
"NOTE: All 2020 and later data are UN projections and DO NOT include any impacts of the COVID-19 virus."[quoted image]

What a sucker!

Let's all sell him some shit or something. He'll obviously buy anything.

POTUS and FLOTUS just tested positive.

I hope people take this seriously now, and act accordingly.

Quoted from Russell:

I would love to hear someone explain, without dodging the question or what-aboutisms, why the US is doing so poorly relative to other countries.

Our politics are being prioritized over science by our government, and a sizeable chunk of our citizens under the guise of freedom.

Here's a quote I read that I feel fits the times...

"Freedom without responsibility isn't freedom. It's adolescence."

Quoted from smalltownguy2:

Apparently the dose vials were over-filled, resulting in extra doses being available.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/16/health/Covid-Pfizer-vaccine-extra-doses.html

They're not over filled. There's a precise amount in each bottle. The "extra" is simply to provide enough doses based on the variety of needles currently in use. Some needles have more space at the tip than others.
... or so I've been told.
