Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Missing one type of person. Engineer. I say that glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Not specific to meat packing plants but manufacturing facilities in general:

It can only take 1 confirmed case, or someone being exposed to someone who has it to potentially force a plant to take more drastic measures. Such as temporary shut downs of lines / areas of a facility to quarantine people exposed and do a deep sanitization of the workplace. Not having a willing workforce to come into work due to uncertainty and fear can also close down a facility. There does not need to be an “outbreak”.

I only hope that Kevin Bacon doesn’t get COVID. Everyone is F’d then!

My sister posted this on FB. I thought this would make our resident medical professionals smile...

Quoted from roffels:

So how are teams trying to prevent spread in locker rooms? Do they limit how many people are in it at a time?

It varies from club to club. Where my son plays in MD, there is no league (inter-club) play currently. But they get out on the ice and do scrimmages which is far better than playing hockey on the PS4.

Locker rooms are closed (except each goalie gets a room to themselves). The rest get dressed at home or like mine in the back of the truck. Can only go in the rink 10mins before to lace up the skates. Masks on unless you are on the ice. On the bench they spread them out and there are kids standing outside the bench area. Only 1 parent spectator. Afterwards its gtfo so they can sanitize in between groups.

Some other rinks around us do it slightly different. Non are cavalier about it though.

Quoted from PanzerFreak:

So this was a bit surprising today at a local CVS. I went to get my second shot and no one was in line for a vaccine. When I went for the first shot 3 weeks ago appointments were booked solid and there was a line of wait of around 6 people even with an appointment.
The pharmacist and nurse on-site providing shots were both on their phones looking bored when I got there. Just before getting my shot I asked if it had been busy today which the nurse replied "No, a lot of people are not showing".
Is vaccine demand starting to slow?

I would say that suspending the distribution of a vaccine from any manufacturer would have consequences to the entire vaccination effort, especially from those already on the fence.
