My sister and fam caught it from elementary school.

My brother and fam caught it from their kids indoor sport practice.

My brother in law x2 caught it from a Vikings game or the after game bar hopping and brought it home to their families.

My cousins large family all got it from somewhere.

My uncle and aunt caught it from the hospital they work in (my uncle runs the Covid testing labs for their network, aunt is Covid nurse).

Of all of these my fully boosted sister, my not boosted and many pre-existing condition brother and my anti-vax cousin had bad reactions. (as in all vaccines, he homeschooled his kids to avoid having to get them vaccinated way back when).

Brother looks like he is out of the woods. So far no significant residual effects.

Sister got her taste back but still has some brain fog.

All my cousins kids are now fully recovered, but he struggles to climb two flights of stairs. No preexisting conditions other than being over 50 and he is an avid biker/runner. Says one flight of stairs is like biking 40 miles. Two flights is like 40 miles uphill. Still says he regrets nothing.

I've somehow avoided Omicron.

I had Delta (probably) back in the summer and triple vaxxed so maybe that helped. Also maybe I'm just lucky.

Haven't been hiding out at home, but haven't been going to huge super spreader events either. I did change my mind about Magfest (though I probably would have gone if the pinball tournament TD hadn't gotten COVID and canceled the tournament). Have been doing small dinners with friends and have had small groups over to my place to flip.

I do have a Judas Priest concert to go to at the End of March, and I won't be missing that as long as it happens. Maybe we'll have a shiny new variant by then!

I know it is a bit ghoulish, but this whole case just has my attention. Like I said, they should have said goodbye a while ago rather than sue the hospital.

However, they won the suit to be able to move him. The Life Link flight went great, because his oxygen saturation only went down to 61... (don't worry, it gets worse). However the new doctors were finally able to administer Ivermectin, nutrition, and fluids to start to get his weight back up (he lost 30 pounds since going on the ventilator). According to the wife's lawyer, he is now communicating through blinking and hand squeezing.

I listened to a podcast that has talked to the wife in the past. I usually don't drive to crazytown, but I got curious. They were accusing the hospital this guy was at of murder (not of this guy, for this guy they were accusing them of attempted murder and intentional abuse). Premeditated murder, accusing a certain Dr F of creating a self spreading bioweapon, and a whole host of other things. They got pretty dark, but fortunately they were able to find all the exact people to blame for each step of this, from creating it, giving it to Scott, down to the fact that they have killed so many people with Remdesivir (which they know, because people get worse when they take it).

And finally, the kicker, they stated that "when you hear these stories, it starts to become painfully clear, that these people are intentionally killing unvaccinated people!". I went back and listened to that again, because I was like "did he just say that???". Yup, verbatim.

Fortunately they had a set of vitamins for sale that would eradicate the self spreading bioweapon, along with protecting you from all the other NIH bioweapons like flu. They had the only cure you needed. Fix you right up.

Now that Scott is out of the killers hands, they are looking forward to the day they can interview him in person... Yeah, in person interview with this patient. Good luck with that.

I don't understand your comment making fun of testing, it's a valuable tool and you are making it political when it's not. I feel much safer being able to test if I have Covid after I've been exposed to someone infected with the virus or if I'm having symptoms before hanging out with my family and friends or going to work. If it spreads too much at work, we have to shut down. And my parents are 84 and I have friends and a partner that are immune compromised, minimizing their exposure and chances of getting sick just might help save their lives. Being able to test can help people normalize their lives and spend time with family and friends with less risk of spreading infection, it should make you feel safer not just for you, but for your family, friends and community. We are all in this together.

As for ventilation and filtration, let’s take a look inward…

Well, the Covid is running rampant through my family. My 5 year old had it Monday and spent the day vomiting, but was just fine the next day. My 8 year old had it Tuesday, and was lethargic, but was better the next day and is 100% today. My 10 year old felt a little feverish yesterday, but is fine now. All are in virtual school for the week as case rates were high enough at the school to shut it down. My wife has had a little headache but is otherwise fine. They've all tested positive. I have so far avoided the plague and/or am asymptomatic. I think everyone will be well enough for the weekly HeroQuest game this weekend.

The good news is it does not seem to affect kids nearly as much as adults. It was essentially a day flu for them.

All it takes is one selfish MOFO to fuck it up for everybody. I'd be for giving the A-hole a military soap bar and blanket party.

I went to one last show last Tuesday. It's hard to gauge risk - if doctors can work with COVID patients with n95s, it should be good enough for a show I'd hope.

Either way, the band announced one band member and crew had COVID 2 days later. Can't imagine any show is safe for the band these days.

The show I was at required vaccinations and masks, but the whole mask thing falls apart when they serve food or drinks and all the cool kids think if they bought a drink, they don't need to mask the entire show. Although many of the finer points surrounding covid are still being discussed and debated, the fact is that covid is no longer a huge mystery to most of us like it was when it first emerged way back in 2019. Yes, we've all really been continuously discussing it since then.

Unfortunately, this thread has required a continuous and disproportionate amount of time and attention from the moderation team. We would instead like to try to refocus our attention on the main purpose and interest of this forum: all things pinball.

Special thanks to all the folks in the medical and science fields taking the time to comment in this thread, especially PantherCityPins for his regular participation in this thread and patience with everyone's questions/concerns. I'm sure it made a huge difference to everyone here.
