Jackasses. Kids or adults as well?

I saw that the woman who made the post, later posted that the girl's father was screaming (in the dark) over the fence that she ruined his daughter's party by posting on FB. (Older Adults and teens at party I guess) I also read that many people were supporting the fact that they had a party.

People just don't get it...

Instructions for reporting violations of labor laws or official directives in NY state:

New York Attorney General Letitia James is asking any employee who believes that their employer is in violation of labor laws or official directives set forth by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Office to contact the New York State Office of the Attorney General’s Labor Bureau and file a complaint.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has posted a few videos so far. But to be fair, not only is he a big celebrity, he is also a former state governor.

Loving his videos, but for sure, maybe he didn't have to post that one where he's lounging in a hot tub sucking on a stogie telling everybody to stay home.

Like...we don't all have palatial LA mansions bro. The funniest comment was "Nice to see you are taking a virus that attacks the respiratory system seriously while smoking a cigar."

Yeah, I thought that one was a bit off the mark too. He was trying to be funny, but it's probably not the best time to be sharing lavish living.

Quoted from Frax:

The biggest truth bomb I've seen dropped in a while. Hoo-boy! That's a zinger, folks. You don't have to submit your free will to the military to serve your country.

With all due respect, I would hope nobody is comparing “running their mouth” or “verbally advocating” to someone who actively served and contributed blood, sacrifice, sweat and tears to our country’s military.

That would be more moronic than the kids down in Florida.

Time to stick together folks, and be the country we are supposed to be.

he's actually probably just trying to be funny. and he is known cigar aficionado. At least he is not out hoarding like so many others.

I am an internist here in the D/FW area. Thanks for the kind words!!

Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

I am a true independent. Our media is terrible. I watch all three major news outlets, (In alphabetical order) CNN, FOX, and MSNBC. It is criminal what all are doing right now. First weekend of major national restrictions and there were barely any informative pieces about the actual science of the disease and/or epidemics. CNN did replay their Town Hall with Fauci over and over, but it was older news and questions. FOX did have a great piece hosted by Harris Faulkner last night about this history of epidemics and pandemics. MSNBC was most criminal with the AM Joy shows being nothing but a total Trump bashfest. The only science they mentioned was selectively used to Trump bash.
Thank you Oaken for posting this article which explains the science behind why this virus is different than others.
https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2020/03/biography-new-coronavirus/608338/
The media should be educating the public, not inflaming emotions. Hatred for our nation’s leadership runs deeper than their care for their fellow human. It’s sick.

The media targets for the masses. There are not that many doctors per capita that will watch sitcoms, there are not that many scientists that will watch sitcoms. Not saying the highly educated do not watch TV, but there are not that many TV viewers that will watch much of anything that is scientific or anything else that requires study and thought. So, TV markets the masses and that means they are reaching for there lowest common denominator with TV shows geared for geared for a 14 year old. And this is why we get in front to the TV and zone out.

From what I am seeing, landscape technicians all around my town are still oblivious to the recent laws set down.

But who is going to do anything when they mow everybody's lawn including the lawmakers and peacekeepers except a few?

I still aint going to be the guy reporting them, there are just too many. But just sayin'.

But distancing and isolation guidelines say "it's fine to go outside and take a walk". So the guy running a lawnmower with a 1/4 acre to himself, and nobody hanging around it obviously, is no worse than anyone walking a dog or jogging a lonely trail... Which are things considered OK.

I mean, I still have to mow my own lawn. Why shouldn't someone else be allowed to?

I'm talking about landscape businesses that are sometimes groups of three or four that ride together in the same truck, go out to lunch together, visit convenience stores together, gas stations together, and stop at as many as 20 -30 houses a day where they sometimes interact with the residents there. And then go home to their families and who knows how many are there. They are all still working.

Not a guy like me, who goes out by himself to mow his own lawn.

#2018 4 years ago

Ah, that makes sense.

Here I'm used to guys that run solo operations. In fact I'm not sure they ever really interact with anyone. They just pull up to the contract address, back the mower off the trailer, go to town, load up, and leave.

Wow! Italy just announced a death toll over 6,000 and nearly 5,000 new cases on top of that.

#2021 4 years ago

And to top it off, many of these gardening services are located in other cities, so they are constantly going from town to town to do their routes.

As I said...I support our service members, but NOT how our government chooses to abuse them. Read carefully, it's a fine line of distinction.....

but the positive is that Italy's # of new cases has gone down each of the last two days. It's early to call that a trend, but that is at least encouraging.

Just got laid off thanks Corona. Best part of that is Denver just shut down the whole city. So I can at least get my unemployment. So it looks like I'll be working on my machines for the next couple weeks.

He had an original way back when. His red one was converted. With the geared hubs I bet his converted one is torque monster. Effectively doubles the torque to the wheel.

I've got my own solution.

When they show up next door and start up their equipment, I'll go out and say hi and start coughing all over the place.

Do you really think your “Wow!” was appropriate? The media already does enough to sensationalize bad news...no need for it here.

It is also why there are so many ignorant fools amongst us doing spring break, holding Coronavirus parties, and having extended family get togethers right now.

We can talk about and argue about the media from a political perspective all we want but one thing they are clearly guilty of is the gradual dumbing down of the American public.

Get out of here with that.

Also. Moderation criticism lol

Financial Times made it's charts and graphs free.
Right now the US seems like it's faring better than Italy in number of deaths. I'd like to see a chart showing whether or not that's just a timing thing (they are 10 days ahead) or not.[quoted image]

We are behind them and not on a good trajectory.

I’m not gatekeeping any adjectives...in this case ”wow” was used as an interjection. Anyway, something with a little compassion would have been more appropriate. Carry on.

Right.

I apologize for not being an english major.

Amazing how you continue to correct the nuance part of statements as opposed to the obvious (to us,) meaning of the context.

Either way. I suck at grammar. You suck at comprehension

#2040 4 years ago

Solid number just came in.

They have done 25,000 tests in Ca. resulting in 2000 cases.

I wonder how many of the other 40 million who have not been tested are carrying it.

They are currently working the logistics of who gets tested next. Schools now shut down for six weeks.

I have no issues with comprehension. Using “Wow!” before stating a death toll number can come across as insensitive, which is how I took it. If I took how the OP said it out of context, then I apologize.

#2042 4 years ago

I just stuck my nose in here to see if it still smells... and gee-sus does it reek in here, so much shit flying around, you got to duck your head just to prevent getting smacked square in the face with a load!!! I'll come back later and see if the exponential growth of shit has subsided or it its still headed on an astranomical trajectory...

Our school system is still on a "lets see in two weeks" shut down.
Like two weeks are gonna be long enough. We do have one confirmed case in our county now.

Had he said "stupendous!" I could maybe see your confusion but given he started the thread, has been active in the thread, is a moderator and is going through this all like we are I cant imagine inteprepting "wow," as a positive or as insensitive.

I appreciate your clarification either way

I was excited to score some goggles at Lowe’s today for myself and my medical assistants to use when seeing possible COVID-19 patients. We do have some masks that have plastic face shields on them but not many and will run out soon. Goggles can be wiped down and reused. Yeah!
