It's not surprising that many of the top states in new cases are the ones that opened up early and where less of the population is wearing masks:

Guys, hear me out.

If we stop testing for rona, there will be fewer cases of rona.

Worth a shot. I’m totally sick of this bullshit like everybody else.

We could use the power of magic!

I already saw Pink Floyd. Great show.

It would take Led Zeppelin to get me on board and take the risk.

I wouldn't want to be in a stadium with 20,000 people right now even if the Beatles put on a concert with John and George resurrected from the dead for one night only.

If we could now resurrect people from the dead, I might take my chances.

If it was in Australia or New Zealand ID be there in a heartbeat , all depends on what country your in .

#15558 3 years ago

I would go if I could wear a space suit or Hazmat suit or SCUBA gear or one of those giant Zorb balls you roll around in.

#15559 3 years ago

Said this before but I don’t think we can realistically expect all the susceptible population and their families/caretakers to shelter in place while everyone else carries on. It’s just too many people.

“In North America, 28% of the population, or 104 million people, had at least one underlying condition that put them at increased risk of developing severe Covid-19 if they caught the virus, according to the study.”

To see either The Beatles or Led Zepplin, hell yeah I'd be there,.

Looks like there may be a treatment for severe cases that works, is cheap, and is plentiful! Holding back the high fives until the study is replicated a few times, but this is potentially very good news.

Nearly 2,800 new cases in Florida today. I do not wonder why...

#15564 3 years ago

A great illustration of mask use, improper use, and non-use.

What if they changed the stickers on the test kits to flu1920?

Less rona more flu!

Wow. It’s been a few hrs since this broke and no mention. Truly good news.

Edit : Must be the moderation lag—just saw mention of this above.

Just went to Costco for the first time in three months. Store was very slow with a minimal amount of people all wearing masks and not crowding each other or running into myself or over my toes with their carts. The people that used to do that were obviously from another part of the world where I guess that is normal behavior?

Hopefully this pandemic has taught those kind of people some manners, but now I've got two clowns with no masks ignoring the no soliciting signs and knocking on my front door trying to sell me shit.

There was plenty of toilet paper, and big bottles of Jack were on sale.

Started the day on a positive note, and I never can leave well enough alone, so here is some bad news:

There are now over 100 new cases in Beijing and they are trying to find and test 100, 000 that might have come in contact with them. The city is in total lockdown. They are trying to find the source in a market complex the size of 250 football fields.

They say it may have come in on a package of imported salmon. This time, it's the European strain. What comes around, goes around.

Things are getting ugly in Brazil. 37,278 new cases today.

Not ask them why they never learned to read?

For the first month and a half of this, robo and other bullshit calls were down to none. Now they are back with a vengeance.

Yesterday was a trip to Home Depot. I saw very few wearing a mask. A young man who was cutting my two boards to size said they were supposed be wearing masks but this HD store ran out of masks.

Today, I went over to the other side of town to a restaurant that has one of my favorite meals. I have not been here since late last year.

This restaurant was founded in 1958. It was always busy. It did not make the shutdown hump. This shop served some good food.

Closed with a for sale sign at the curb.

No. And neither has ours.

"A Sad Day In American History: Delta and American Airlines Are Banning Alcohol On Planes..."

I typically fly a lot with work and air travel is THE WORST... Get up early, schlep through the airport lines, hurry up and wait at every step, and pray there are no crying kids kicking your seat again this trip. The one thing that makes it worse is touching down with a hangover, so I'm not going to miss the airplane booze.

I guess the heaviest drinkers can rely on the airport bar, but staying hydrated is a better choice in my experience. I'll party when the travel BS is done.

While ago when I ran a few errands to places that have not been keeping distance enough for me, the people in line actually did very well.

I guess my favorite site for no nonsense charts is this page.

Shows that the world is now seeing over 150,000 and looks to soon be approaching an average of 200,000 new cases per day.

I've had to do an individual risk assessment on all of my staff in Theatres.
As well as all of the usual metrics such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, asthma, etc.
Anyone male and over 55,
Anyone over 65,
Anyone from the BAME community

Are instantly classed as high risk,

Depending on their job role they are then redeployed, to a less risky area.

I'm guessing that will put the figure well over 28% of people at high risk.

You can bring mini-bottle liquor in your carry-on luggage. I have relatives that do it every time they fly.

I had to read more about that. I found...

Yes you can "carry on" mini-bottles along with your tiny shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.

However, FAA regs say - No person may drink any alcoholic beverage aboard an aircraft unless the certificate holder operating the aircraft has served that beverage to him.

I assume they want to stop folks from cracking open that big bottle of Jack they bought in duty free, so it's technically not allowed, but some laws are made to be broken.
