Quoted from PantherCityPins:

While we’re on the subject, I’m surprised no one has commented on the President saying he has been taking Hydroxychloroquine for almost two weeks as a preventative for COVID-19.
This is troubling on a few fronts.
First, we still don’t know if Hydroxychloroquine actually works to treat or prevent COVID-19 and the data we do have are mixed at best.
Secondly, the President is overweight and has known high cholesterol so he could be at higher risk for cardiac issues and thus Hydroxychloroquine could have risks for him.
Third, as a physician I am forced to wonder what the President’s doctor is thinking here. He is placing his patient on a medication with risks and without proven benefit. He also is putting the rest of the country’s physicians in a position to have to field more questions and demands from patients for “preventative” Hydroxychloroquine when that isn’t even an approved use of the medication.

I seriously doubt he is taking the drug. I don't have any reason to think otherwise.

Maybe there's some confusion between the medicine and the cookie?

I'm wondering how many I can consume without becoming "morbidly obese"?

An arcade is winning the Coronavirus battle! Chuck E Cheese!!! Go Chuck E.! Wait... How is Chuck E. Cheese winning? They are selling their pizza takeout and delivery via grubhub and other apps. Wait... no one in their right mind would order Chuck E. Cheese to go? You are correct, and Chuck E. Cheese knows that! They have been caught changing their name in the Grub Hub app to Pasquales Pizza (one of the members of the "band") and masquerading as a local joint. Thats right... Chuck E. Cheese has increased their business during the pandemic by pretending to not be... Chuck E. Cheese.

Annie Glenn, widow of astronaut and Senator John Glenn, has passed away at 100 due to complications from Covid 19. It's a sad ending but at the same time what an amazing life she had.

Yeah, Chuck E Cheese always had the worst pizza in the world but that's not why anybody was there

100 years, what a life!
When hearing about Annie Glenn I always think back to the movie "The Right Stuff" and the portrayal of Mrs. Glenn by actress Mary Jo Deschanel (mom of Zooey Deschanel).

I've always loved that movie. It's the first thing I can remember seeing Ed Harris in. The whole cast was great!

To be fair this pretty much applies to all pharmaceuticals these days. Every drug commercial on TV usually spends more than half its air time just giving you the cliff notes of all the potentially hazardous and deadly side effects. Making a personal choice to take a drug that could possibly harm you with the intent to prevent or cure illness is nothing new.

It's like the biggest world-wide Darwin Awards event ever. You feel really bad about all the sick and dead, but at the same time you just HAVE to distance yourself from it all at times and just accept that many people are taking it upon themselves to take these risks.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

That's insane.

Watched a short doc on Bushnell and Chuck E Cheese yesterday and yeah he was foreward about how he wanted to make an arcade disguised as a pizzeria.
I remember a local Pizza Hut we'd go to and the parents would give us a quarter or two to go play the Nintendo Red Tent arcade machine while waiting for the pizza to arrive. I don't remember the pizza, but boy do I remember playing Goonies 2

I think I watched the movie about 10 times during my high school years when it was on HBO for the first time. When my American History teacher was saying John Glenn was the first American in space I had to correct him and say Alan Shepard was the first in space and Glenn was first to orbit the earth.
The movie was also instrumental in getting Chuck Yeager some deserved recognition and fame. Yeager is still alive at the age of 97.

Then 8 years later a law firm will be asking if you took that drug between this year and that year.

Went to Lloydminster for deck supplies. Alberta reopened today and it's a fukn zoo. The mall/retail stores are open again and couldn't find a spot to park to grab some liquor. People are absolute dumbasses and can't even care to pay attention to direction arrows. Finally had enough and snapped at a few people. Even coughed and sneezed to make someone turn around in a issle at home depot. When you have a mask on and cough, people move away scared quickly.

As of today, it looks like National Guard deployed for the federal covid response are getting the shaft. Subject to change of course, but their deployment will end at 89 days. 90 days deployed gets them a whole bunch of benefits. Also while deployed they get a bump in healthcare benefits. Over 1000 have tested positive so far.

I feel pretty strongly that we shouldn’t be yanking their chains like this.

And there is good reason for that. Since 1997, the FDA has required pharmaceutical company's to disclose side effects in any, direct to consumer adverting.

The Guard is doing a ton of work around here from setting up makeshift hospitals, helping in nursing homes, testing and handing out food.

Unsung heros in my opinion...

Dude is a 43 year old nurse, in great shape. Buzzfeed did a thorough job in the article. Guy attended a festival sometime between March 4-10th. At least 38 attendees contracted coronavirus and 3 died.

Same timeframe we had almost no testing capability in the US and so only 11 confirmed cases. While the president was assuring us it was not a problem because Xi told him the heat in April will kill it. I think Senator Burr sold a few Nasdaqs on the 13th, lol.

It’s a bit of stretch to blame that weight loss on Covid, if you’re built like that and stop taking in 6000 calories a day and working out 3 hours a day your going to lose a lot of weight in a hurry no matter what illness you have.

Well, the weight loss is due to him being in ICU on a vent for several weeks which was due to COVID so while dramatic weight loss isn’t associated with the milder forms of COVID it certainly can happen like this in patients who get very ill.

Due to sport injuries and age, I had become accustomed to therapeutic massage on a semi-regular basis. I would also use home remedies in between sessions and now with isolation, I have gone to them exclusively.

A foam roller and "The Stick" do really well for me and I hope you find the attached pictures helpful and self explanatory. You can also find a ton of video instructions on the internet.

Maybe pinball related, maybe not, but one issue I had was tendonitis at the elbow in both arms. It wasn't pictured on the instruction chart but I devised a way of laying on the floor and pinning The Stick with my body weight on my arm. By placing it directly on the tendon, beginning at the joint, I slowly rolled the tendon out by gliding my body over it lengthwise. Man, did that ever work great and in short order.
In fact, all of these exercises gives me great relief and they're easy to do.

I hope everyone finds this useful and a nice break from the political undertones that dominate this thread.

Kansas is starting to open back up.

I used to play pool on Tuesday night at a local bar. 7 pool tables with two 4-man teams to each table. My team leader texted me yesterday saying we are starting back up next week. Another member texted back that he was ready to get back to it.

The place serves food and drinks. I have not seen much mask wearing around here. I can only imagine how it will be in a bar with everybody leaning on the pool table to make a shot.

Call me chicken but I think I am going to pass.

Did you ever try the "Flexbar" (by Theraband) for your elbow? I have one sitting on my desk, but I don't use it regularly. It's supposed to be pretty good for "tennis elbow" and general elbow pain.

Good stuff. I do a ton of rehab/prehab stuff nowadays, because when I was younger I sat in front of a desk for 10-12 hours a day (forward head, rounded shoulders, anterior pelvic tilt) and then spent the next 2 hours trying to lift really stupid amounts of weights in the gym. If only my older self, could have had a 15 minute conversation with my younger self...

I also do a lot of Yoga. I personally use the subscription site ManflowYoga, but there's a TON of free Yoga on Youtube:
