Quoted from tiltmonster:

Governor Cuomo said of the newly reported cases 66% stayed at home and another 18% were from Nursing homes, so is the stay at home strategy working?

Yes it working as otherwise they would be infecting their co-workers, friends, relatives etc as well. The stay at home limits who becomes infected. Without the stay at home order there would be 60,000 120,000, 240,000 or more new cases every day or whatever number before people voluntarily stayed at home. The rate of new cases was doubling every 3 days before stay at home orders.

Quoted from tiltmonster:

I thought that viruses died in UV light, fresh air was essential and the human body needed vitamin D to stay healthy, so why are beaches, parks, golf courses... closed?

UV light is not effective enough to stop you getting infected when you go to a beach or park. Also because when you mingle with random strangers you can’t as easily contact trace an outbreak started at a beach, park, concert etc. We only need about 15 minutes of sunlight a day to make enough vit D and we can make do with less than ideal air quality.

Quoted from tiltmonster:

but if all of these places can open safely like the box stores, liquors stores, super markets, why can't all business open if they follow the same guidelines?

Some of these stores open because they are considered “essential” not because they are safer than other stores. I make no judgement on liquor stores.

Not every thing is an absolute. Beaches, golf courses are probably more safe than most work places for instance, but most people need to work more than swim or play golf.

I don’t make the rules. I don’t agree with all of them, but I hope this sheds some light on some of your questions.

I’ve been in/out of this post for awile and Im a “to each they’re own” kinda guy.I try to only take advice from people I’ve known and trust ,not TV.The person I trust most ,my wife, works at the busiest and only trauma center on the south side of chicago. She has a management position and has been working from home mostly since mid March.Take this as you will but the whole board at hospital agrees the premature openings are going to cause a second peak in July to go along with the fall everyone is dreading.Everyones situation is different and no blame can be put on anyone fighting to pay bills but please whatever you do take precautions .Ive known 6 to pass away from this myself maybe more as it’s been around since November .Dont get fixated on numbers as they are nowhere close .Stay safe everyone and do what you can to help !!

The reason liquor stores are considered essential is that there is a significant percentage of Americans who are alcoholic and would go into withdrawal if their supply was cut off.

#13458 3 years ago

By the way I just turned 50 and 2 of the 6 were high school friends .The other 4 were seniors with conditions including my father who had COPD God test his “love for life” soul !!

Seems like they’ve been in quarantine for two weeks already.

Quoted from RTR:

Probably need to clear this up before it becomes an issue.
Drinking or injecting bug spray will not protect you from the Murder Hornets. .

I’ll be the judge of that

You can't be sure. Maybe it's good to look into that. I'll write a message to Dr Birx to ask if she's thought of the possibility yet.

That is so scary in so many ways. (searching for Q on youtube now, to get 'informed' :p)

I’m disappointed that Elon Musk has said so many stupid things about this coronavirus thing.

#13469 3 years ago

Our nut bags were out and about today . A couple hundred of them were protesting 5G , the virus is a conspiracy and they wanted Bill Gates arrested for some reason . Some got violent so the cops dealt with them . It's a pity scientists can't find a cure for stupid .

Wow that’s wild. I just finished reading a Q-anon book my buddy gave me called the great awakening. Seriously crazy stuff. I enjoy a good conspiracy story as much as the next guy but that was a crazy read, you have to make some mental leaps to believe it all. I don’t recommend it to anyone. I put it on the same level as dianetics by L Ron Hubbard.

I would not take Covid advice from a Q supporter.

Yes it certainly is mostly bulls#it, that is clear to mostly reasonable people.

Mostly...

... the "facts" do not add up, from either "perspective".

It’s a little embarrassing that GA opened a lot of businesses prematurely, but at least I don’t have to see videos of doofuses storming our capital in Atlanta.

Geez...
- One thing is to ask to reopen in order to go to work, in order to feed your children and keep a roof. I get it, I sympathize for those who desperately need their jobs back.
- Another is advocating virus-spreading behavior

And ironically, it appears to be a store that caters to the elderly.

The tax the State gets on sales , you know government will do anything to collect sales tax...regardless what is going on. Thats why.

Kroger just suspended pay for grocery store employees

Krogers sucks. I cannot believe how much cheaper Wal Mart is on their groceries than Kroger is. I would rather support Krogers but their prices are just too high.

Damn, now it's going after children.
73 NY Children Sick With Rare COVID-Related Inflammatory Illness, 2nd Death Possibly Linked
https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/73-ny-children-sick-with-rare-covid-related-illness-state-finds-with-one-death/2408285/

I mentioned this in post 13115 and there were 4 cases. This has significantly increased and now with deaths related.

Hopefully this is not a second wave of sorts.

#13493 3 years ago

What if government required people to be Naked during quarantine times?. Probably 95% stay home .

#13494 3 years ago

Elon was on joe rogan for another 2 hour podcast just the other day. So X Æ A-12 is pronounced “ex eh eye” the a-12 at the end is dropped. But when your that rich it doesn’t really matter what your name is.

My view for the day...

#13496 3 years ago

People are more empowered than ever to wear swatztikas and kkk hoods in public. Wonder why.

And Kroeger employees should suspend working and see quick those stores shut down. Not exactly a line of work people are dying to get into right now.

I don't think Elon is as smart as Joe and Elon think he is.
