A lot of pockets of civil disobedience in our country regarding the stay at home order. Most likely more to come. I'd be really interested in hearing from our pinball friends in other countries if they're seeing the same thing.

In the video you posted, Bill Gates mentions reproductive health services and healthcare are how the population growth is controlled. Poor people often lack the ability to control when and how many children they have. See that is how your conspiracy theory is ignoring many of the parts of what Bill Gates said.

I agree, but I hope people who live in those areas will follow the guidelines closely. Most of these small towns have a lot of elderly people, and they need to be protected.

Well, first off, bringing CO2 to zero kills all of humanity. Second, vaccines don't prevent unwanted children. Third, you should try to overcome your programming.

If a person lived in one of those areas where there was a low infection rate, would they want to have things open back up and take the chance people from higher infected areas would come to their area?

Yes, there are many places that could re-open. It would be perceived by the others who can't as unfair. So we must all suffer equally.
Not to mention people moving (escaping) from "Repressive" States to ones open. Thus spreading the virus.
Just as borders have returned in Europe ignoring the free movement so important to the EU concept, there are those who fear a return of States borders in the US.
Having 50 Governors making decisions concerning 50 States highlights Independence and "States Rights", concepts deemed dangerous by some.

By this logic if we had a mass bombing which killed 40,000 people in a day we would also discount it because hey, lots of people die every day in the US.

COVID-19 has killed 40,000 people in about 6 weeks and that's WITH extreme mitigation measures. Compare that to influenza that killed 34,200 people in 2018 in about 6 months with no mitigation measures at all.

Catch a clue.

Well, how do these 40k deviate?
All the rest of daily death is called, natural causes, pick one.
This Pandemic is 20x deadlier than the flu, 12-14x easier to catch, and you can have it several days before knowing.
Not going to argue, im good with how I move forward.

If "Safe Zones" are established where freedom of movement is less restricted the "Hot Zones" will suffer a stigma and become undesirable places.
I was amazed how quickly normally moderate areas where New Yorkers own vacation houses set up road blocks and unwelcome signs and made it difficult for people fleeing lockdowns.
People resort to the lowest common denominator of "Not in my back yard" mentality when the SHTF. A worsening
of the current situation could lead to Counties and States having road blocks and no-go zones. This may be necessary to return to some semblance of Economic production but will only increase hostility for those who can't.

Right now I’m thinking back to this early February ski trip just before all of this blew up. How about more reminders of happy times that will come back again some day?

I am not giving up hope that sometime this year we may be able to get back to doing the things we enjoyed out and about. I am just not going to force it if the time is not ready. HOPE!

Today everyone is a reporter. Todays conspiracy theory is tomorrows truth. People no longer need depend on 3 sources for their information, there are now millions.
Is the majority bulls%T? Probably. The small percentage of the ones that are true are heavily censored by Google, Facebook,Youtube, all the new major players.
They allow the bulls%t to propagate and try to shut down the truths they find distasteful. So the search for truth becomes more difficult, but a worthy cause.
