wolfemaaan was booted off the site entirely
iceman44 holds the record for fastest eject in under 48 hours
DBLM actually requested to be booted
Probably AT LEAST 6 Pinsiders on final written warning here and maybe a dozen or so that have been temporarily ejected and either changed their posting style or never came back.

This damn disease has really taken its toll.

Gone...but not forgotten.

Quoted from BigT:

I would be very interested to see who is on double secret probation.

Quoted from bob_e:

Even worse the moderator will call your mom and tell on you!

Anyone that has been moderated multiple times should consider posts carefully. We did have to call 2 moms so far. One said she was just plain disappointed in her son and the other put a bar of soap in his mouth.

#11354 4 years ago

Now, anytime I feel a warning coming on, I try to vanish into thin air like any other fart in the wind.

I had a friend who ratted out his sister for saying the F word and his mom squirted liquid soap in her mouth as punishment. Back in the eighties

Rat someone out in the 60s or 70s and you lost teeth.

Some posters on here just get amped up over politics, which leads to personal attacks. Big "no-no's, " for sure.

I guess we need to stock up on liquid soap.

Someone contacted me and was mad as hell, said I got them kicked off.
First, I do not complain to Moderators.
Second, who am I? I have no influence on who stays or goes, been moderated myself.
This tells me that yes, Change your Posting style, subconsciously someone may see you as the name of their pain.

This possibly seems really bad for flattening the curve. I really really hope this isn't lighting a fresh fire for the spread of the virus. You never want to see public health issues become some kind of partisan fight. Like if having parties and social gathering becomes some kind of act of loyalty this could be a major instigator of a second wave, right?
Or am I worried about nothing here?

I have edited the quote below to remove political parties:

President Trump on Friday openly encouraged [...] protests of social distancing restrictions in states with stay-at-home orders, a day after announcing guidelines for how the nation’s governors should carry out an orderly reopening of their communities on their own timetables.

In a series of all-caps tweets that started two minutes after a Fox News report on the protesters, the president declared, “LIBERATE MICHIGAN!” and “LIBERATE MINNESOTA!”

The local Food Lion had Hamms Talls up until recently, I bought the last of it. Cheap, different, drinkable.
I blame Inbev for the lack of variety for affordable beer.

#11374 4 years ago

Old Milwaukee reminded me of Hamms. Both were $1.15 a pitcher at a local pizza place late 70s early 80s. Hell no we aren't paying $4.00 for Buttwiper.

And where all the statues like the Grimace that used to be in front of our McDonalds ended up.
That is all.

I remember when his name was "Evil Grimace". Then the "Evil" was removed. Even before the whole PC movement.

This was our beer of choice as teenagers, purely based on price, it was about 7.00 a case.[quoted image]

My fellow pinball techs needed good parts boxes to keep in our vehicles. Beer cases were the best. We all would buy Wiedemann's beer as it was the cheapest. We literally would throw the bottles (unopened) into the dumpster and keep the cases for parts storage.

Quoted from Eightball88:

Did you ever come across Molson Brador? It was 6.2% abv in Canada so a bit stronger than most beers at the time.

We would get Brador or Extra Stock depending on the Windsor or Toronto bar we were at. When bringing some home for a party, the Brewer's Retail stores (now known as "The Beer Stores" carried both.

Stroh's. You knew it was good because it came in a 36-pack.[quoted image]

Anyone that has been moderated multiple times should consider posts carefully. We did have to call 2 moms so far. One said she was just plain disappointed in her son and the other put a bar of soap in his mouth.

Problem is moderation has seemingly become so arbitrary, no one really has any idea how whoever is moderating these threads is making these decisions.

Doesn't help that they hide their identity without saying who they are or allowing people to reply for clarification on what they think or consider objectionable either. Sorry, just saying...

#11383 4 years ago
Quoted from Colsond3:

I always find it ironic that I drive past the huge AB/Budweiser plant on the 405, yet I never see anybody in California drinking Budweiser when I’m there.
And funny Odiner...I used to use the Flyaway in Van Nuys to take a bus to LAX when I come out there. Until one time I decided to go to a strip club down the street before boarding. Shady place, but I did meet Tera Patrick.[quoted image]

Were you able to peek inside of the Sepulveda Boulevard Tunnel?

Quoted from jhanley:

I hate that murdering POS . When we would travel to Reno we always passed by the prison he was at and flipped him the bird.

I drove through Lovelock myself a couple of times in the past few weeks. Also, speaking of Elko, check out the 1989 Bally pic I have from there. Then look at the recent one. The building looks the same except the Bally sign has been replaced by a Tile & Granite sign.

I get what you're saying but start a Moderator feedback thread if you have an issue. Seriously, they're all pretty good to deal with.
Steer clear of Tigerlaw if you can. I'm 0 and 4 with him.

I feel that we have been clear with NUMEROUS warnings throughout the thread.
Pinside rules are posted in the forum already and then additionally demonstrated in the very first post. There is even a warning on every post prior to sending. Abuse reports are available on every post at the bottom right, and the moderator feedback forum is available to everyone 24-7. There are several moderators going through this thread daily as well. In addition, the mods have a private chat where we discuss posts that are in grey areas or which "toe the line, " so we can try to be as fair as possible.

Other than shutting the thread down or doing 1st time thread ejections, both of which would bring up far more issues, I really don't feel it could be done any better.

It is impossible to please everyone all the time. Some people simply find far more things objectionable than others. We try to keep problems to a minimum so that everyone can enjoy the website, however. At the end of the day, we are just trying to have fun with a common hobby that we all share and have fun discussing it.

If you (or anyone for that matter) find a post to be in bad taste...use the abuse report button. If there are ever any questions, comments, or concerns...please send us a message in the mod feedback forum. I have mentioned this before, but you can just PM me as well. I am on pinside for a good part of every day and I am very responsive to PMs.

Quoted from phil-lee:

Federal Services like the FBI must get permission from the Local Sheriff before a visit. You have a right to request the Local Sheriff be present at any arrest by Federal Agents.

This is not true. Federal agencies usually just give the courtesy call of letting them know they are doing it but not always.More often than not they sit on a house to wait for a guy to come home or whatever so they can arrest him and they don’t want the local police circling around the house while they are sitting there. That’s why the call is made.
