Quoted from Pinballs:

My God that literally looks like piss

I'm told it works every time.

At least real ales here are so warm they will literally kill coronavirus

Quoted from o-din:

I'm still waiting for them to eject me from the most expensive, I mean the greatest pinball machines of all time thread.

One guy is so butthurt, he actually just asked me to take a break.

Link? I haven't read that thread.

On the topic of beers:

In high school we drank Lucky Lager because it was the cheapest buzz and had the best caps. Figuring them out when buzzed was fun, because some of the answers we came up with were wtf.

And who can forget the college beer chugging competition of 1980?

I’m going on a nice drive to pickup that MAMPM, that I drunkenly bought last weekend, tomorrow. Worth the price to just get out of the house for awhile.

Same exact caps on these around these parts.

Drinking Corona beer outdoors in the jacuzzi here, while listening to loud rock music

Happy weekend everyone.

We were discussing this yesterday.

Even if there was a cop out there to arrest us for drunk driving, there are no courts in session to give us a speedy trial.

So a few beers while tooling around town is certainly not out of the question. When we used to go to Mexico, the first thing my dad would do is hit a liquor store and crack us each one while heading to San Miguel.

I actually got half my fence and gate scraped and sanded in between posts today. I am a true multitasker.

However, several boards on the gate need to be replaced, so I figure I should probably drink at least a few beers before heading over to Home Depot.

It's the return of the wild west boys, and Marshall Dillon must prepare to ride.

I thought if I avoided sneezes I was good. Check this out...

Quoted from PantherCityPins:

Well, here’s an honest question. If it turns out that the Chinese deliberately covered up the extent of this virus, intentionally putting the world at risk of large amounts of casualties and severe economic damage; is that an act of war?

Ooooh, that's a tough question. Before we were at WW II with Japan and Germany we were trading partners with both. And in the 30s, the people here were quite infatuated with Hitler and the Hindenburg crashed in New Jersey.

We have sanctions on Iran. But other than the pistachios we (used to?) import from Iran I don't think we buy anything from them.

So, what we we do? Sanction China? When it seems like China is producing most of what we need everyday?

Do we load up the guns and cut off our nose to spite our face?

Assuming it is true, do we tell American businesses that their world wide gallivanting is over?

Interesting question. No easy answers.

The only easy answer is wars are a lot easier to start than they are to get out of.

#11268 4 years ago

Off topic, but IMO China is in a great position to go ahead and invade Taiwan with minimal repercussions.

Quoted from chad:

How has your day been Levi?

Not too shabby! Doing some great stuff in the apartment we set up some Curtains inside these open areas which gives the bedroom more of a feeling of privacy and makes it darker in there at night. Hung up the old dogs playing poker picture to cover up the fuse box much to Nancy’s horrified chagrin.

Ate some leftover meatballs for lunch.

Nancy back at her apartment for a few days. Bachelor weekend!! Woo hoo!

I’m gonna watch so much porn!

Oh threw a malfunctioning remote across the hallway. Stress manifests itself in strange ways I guess.

In covid news everybody seems to have gotten the message about the masks everybody is wearing them inside stores and such which is how it should be.

How has your day been Chad?

Quoted from embryonjohn:

The days of this country relying on 3 TV news anchors & two newspapers for its opinions are over. Please, just get over it.
Long live diversity of thought (which used to be welcomed and championed by both sides) in America.

Except this is not true: a lot of people in America rely on FoxNews for their news... and since they are not accountable for anything IMO it's no different than spreading hate speech.
Facebook, Google moderate it (to some extent) but nobody moderates the media.

Facebook is so much worse than Fox news, that place is an absolute cesspool of misinformation, Russian troll farms, and unregulated stupidity.

Stroh's. You knew it was good because it came in a 36-pack.[quoted image]

We made a many a trip to VA to get Strohs Fire-Brewed. I don't recognize your picture, it must of been later when they tried to bring it back
The fire-brewed had a good, distinct taste that never got old.

Quoted from o-din:

My dad was all Bud, all the time. But the stuff did not agree with me. There was a time I did Coors, but now it is mostly Mexican beer like Pacifico or Dos Equis or whatever fancy IPA my buddy brings over.

I like Budweiser but one bottle and I will have a screaming hang over. My choice is south of the border: Dos Equis.

Back in the 70s I don't remember there being any "craft beers". We got what was strongest so we did not have to carry too much.

This stuff is so bad that even 40 years later it hasn't been opened yet.
[quoted image]

Billy Beer was actually Drummond Brothers. I had a many of them in the late 70's. Drummond Brothers was a light Falstaff. Falstaff Draft was killer, the go to around here for my Fathers Generation.

#11280 4 years ago

Jaybird don't forget about that kiss Hilty promised. Pics or it didn't happen.

#11281 4 years ago
Quoted from chad:

I knew this looked familair. Peanut farmers brother

Billy was famous for public urination at the White House (or somewhere important) and taking money from the Libyans, though he never actually got it.

#11282 4 years ago

My grandpa was a cop and fireman. He also smuggled Falstaff into town with my HS best buddies grandpa, also a fireman.
By the semi load.
Didn't find this out till high school. Wish I coulda met him.

I've worried about the same thing. Xi has been saber rattling saying they will take Taiwan back peacefully or by force within seven years, and that rhetoric started a few years back.

I think we are were already in the early stages of a cold war with China before this happened. I anticipate relations worsening even more in the wake of all of this.

This week has left me very very confused about states' rights and Federal power separation in your fine country.
I really hope it doesn't impede a coordinated covid-19 response but wow is it fascinating to see a Federal government cheer state Liberation from itself.
Is there anyone here that understands this that can PM me a summary?

Quoted from Reality_Studio:

People claim they would but they never actually do. Look at pinball purchases on Pinside, there's all kinds of posts on how people proudly rip off their local economies by (insert whatever illegal purchase trick here). Also look how much people scream when pinball prices go up $100. You really think they will want to pay made in USA prices for everything? Good luck with that. Plus aren't even the "Make America Great Again" hats made in China?
Simply put, nothing will be done about China. Nothing, zero, nada. People can blather on about wanting jobs back locally but they lie, they just want stuff as cheap as possible. They buy nothing local then they wonder where all the jobs went and cry about it while their drive their not made in USA car wearing their not made in USA clothes using their not made in USA electronics. I walk the walk, I buy local as much as possible but I'm considered a weirdo for that. Heck people even make fun of me here for overpaying on pinball machines that I buy locally but I don't care, I support local businesses and my money goes back locally whenever possible.

I try to buy locally. But I have my limits. I wore Levi's jeans for years. But several years ago, maybe 20 years ago, I went to buy some new Levi's and was told $70.00 a pair. I went looking around and the only ones that will fit are the cheapie Rustler brand at Walmart; Those were $10.00 a pair at the time.

Not long after that Levi's moved overseas, but the retail prices stayed the same.

Same thing with razor blades. When Gillette bumped its prices to $25.00 for a 3-pak set of the 3-bladed jobs I discovered Dollar Shave Club and then found out DSC got its blades from Dorco in South Korea. As you might guess, I do not use Gillette anymore.

Just to show that I do try to buy locally, a few years ago, I need some gas shocks for the hatch on my car. I was given a choice. The US made units were about $10.00 more per pair.

So, I try to but American. but I am not going to pay Wall Street bend over prices.

My Uncle Cliff made annual trips across the Border and filled up the trunk of his 57 Biscayne with gallon jugs of Mezcal. Seems like each jug had a half dozen Agave worms.

To me its simple. Here, there is nothing really going on. NC has been blessed. Could it flare up into an incident? Maybe in one of the big Cities.
Most everyone is working. We are ready to open up. Isn't up to the President. Up to the Governor. Like a good conspiracy?
It's really up to the local Sherriff in each County, the highest ranking duly elected law enforcement Agent.

Quoted from pinballOsp:

Except this is not true: a lot of people in America rely on FoxNews for their news... and since they are not accountable for anything IMO it's no different than spreading hate speech.

Hannity, Ingram, and Carlson are not news reporters. They are commentators, which is a big difference. They are giving you opinions. Just like Maddow, Williams, Morning Joe, on the other networks.

The problem with news is biases have slipped into actual reporting. Instead of giving information and having you figure what the information means, they try and fill in the gaps for you. It is always best to read an article, no matter which way the site leans, and actually follow the original source. That is the thing about the internet, it is not too hard to actually go to the primary source and hear/see what was actually said and the context of which it was said.

Colson,

I do admire your taste in women. I keep thinking I would like to find a woman with brains, but then you come around with another pic.

#11299 4 years ago

And funny Odiner...I used to use the Flyaway in Van Nuys to take a bus to LAX when I come out there. Until one time I decided to go to a strip club down the street before boarding. Shady place, but I did meet Tera Patrick.[quoted image]
