Quoted from Daditude:My wife is going today, so I will let you know.
I went last week and 1/2 the people had gloves and masks, there was signage all over the floors to denote "6 feet apart" and there was plexiglass in front of the cashiers.
Shame on you!!! Please do all shopping before Easter Sunday. If no one shops on Easter Sunday they will be forced to close and give the workers off to spend with their family. Since it's considered a religious holiday we don't even get any extra pay.
Quoted from Daditude:What's everyone eating for Easter lunch/dinner today?
Ham, carrots/broccoli, mashed potatoes.
Quoted from Mr68:If we could just eliminate the penny, that's all I ask.
Canada removed the penny from circulation years ago. If you use cash it gets rounded off to the $.05, if you pay with a card it calculates the same as before.

I got an email that Lowes is closed for the holiday nation-wide. Wanted to give their employees a much deserved break. Kudos to them.
Sobering story from Sports Illustrated.

Graph should include wars as a disaster, other hurricanes or natural disasters, mass shootings, terrorists killings, etc...
It is just a random graph of small incidents to major ones.
If this was already posted, my apologies. Needed a break from the thread.
"The Chinese government has disclosed only 3,304 deaths from coronavirus. Yet funeral homes in Wuhan have disposed of an estimated 42,000 corpses, according to Radio Free Asia."
Quoted from Colsond3:Definitely. When I do order out, I’ve been buying direct from the small local places since this thing started.
We’re supporting local business here too. Just bought some board and card games from the local game store which is closed, but they delivered the games to our house the next day. We need stuff we all enjoy doing as a family to keep the sanity, and sometimes it’s a good outlet to beat the crap out of each other in a civilized manner. I can’t seem to get the girls into pinball but they like board games.
Just picked up Ticket to Ride, and playing the crap out of Settlers of Catan, both great games and highly recommend.

But is that number all dead from corona virus?
Quoted from CanadianGamer:But is that number all dead from corona virus?
From what I gather from the article, the suspicion is the number is much higher than normal, so, mostly.

Both of those are great games...and when you get bored, they have other versions available which have different rule twists for each.
Quoted from Who-Dey:I went to the park for a walk yesterday and chose not to wear a mask. I dont see any reason to wear one while being outside if you arent going to be around people. We passed a couple of people walking on the bike path but i wouldn't think there is much danger in getting the virus from a person like that. In the stores i say wear one but outside i just dont see the point if you’re not around a bunch of people.
What's that great line in Dirty Harry? "Are you feeling lucky?........"
Not to be critical, but this thinking is exactly what will contribute to keeping this virus circulating. The only time I've been out without a mask is when I'm walking my two dogs on my golf course, which is currently closed. My closest neighbor is 300 yards away. Please be careful Who-Dey.

I don't think people have really come to grips with the duration of this yet but articles like this will help.
This podcast does a good job outlining the four major plans on how we get out of this first phase. The Weeds is a really great policy podcast. It leans left, but they do a good job on this one giving fair debate to all the options.
One thing that all the plans require is a president or leader that is able to earn strong support across party lines.

There wasnt anyone near me other than like 2 other people that I passed while walking. I may be wrong but I just dont think that is a problem being out in the open air like that. I gotta believe that it's different than being in the aisle of a store and passing someone.
I wasnt real crazy about walking through the group of dumbass kids in front of the pizza place and then paying for my pizza and being in close proximity to the workers. I have not been going out to eat hardly any but sometimes I gotta have a pizza since it's my favorite food and the frozen pizzas just haven't been cutting it.

RESTORED GAMES ARE AN EASTER MIRACLE
Spent the morning doing an Easter Egg hunt and then curled up on the couch with the family and we watched the Saturday Night Passover Seder that features Jason Alexander, Ben Platt, Idina Menzel, Billy Porter, Harvey Fierstein, and other broadway superstars. It's not perfect but considering it was all done from everyone's separate apartments, it's pretty remarkable. And Fran Drescher, Finn Wolfhard, Eli Levy, Mayim Bialik and others even show up. And they apparently raised over $1,000,000 via the youtube count and other donation points.
Friends down the street have a son that turned 8 years old today. I started thinking about my daughter missing out on her birthday party in June and that got me feeling a bit down, but then she came along and told me how it will all be ok and she could do a Zoom party with all her family and friends. We're very lucky to have her.
Stay safe everyone.

I think it's a joke
Just a bit of perspective on young kids hanging out. If I were 21 and put into a lockdown, it would have been with the 4 other guys I was living with while in college. Thats essentially your family and quarantine partners.
I'm not saying that excuses behavior of all the younger kids, but it's just something to keep in mind.

waiting for someone to make a Sexy Coronavirus costume
Speaking of ramps and working on games, I did this last week to the very first pinball game I ever owned (a non-functional project I bought which led me to discover Pinside):

The game promptly rewarded me with the single highest score ever set on the machine by anyone, by a long shot. Funny how that works sometimes!

Is that bg a display?
Has anyone else gone through the government small business loan program? My wife worked all weekend on it through the bank, it’s pretty sweet, we don’t have to pay back on it as long as we don’t lay anyone off, and it’s a fairly substantial amount of money.
Virus “reactivating” in South Korea? 91 cases of previously recovered patients again testing positive. Could be bad data but not the news I want to hear.
With all the tests going around, not sure which ones are testing for exactly what. If only looking for a small sequence of viral capsid or mRNA- how are they determining contagiousness?

Right or wrong, I like to think of it like farts only larger affected volume. Sure, farting in an elevator (enclosed place) is worst case, but that don’t mean I can’t walk through a cloud of stink while out on a walk.

I would but right now dealing with the traditional Easter snow.

I will try to take pics.
Quoted from underlord:Is that bg a display?
It's a custom stainless steel panel overlay I designed and had made a few years back. I sold a couple dozen more to help fund the burgeoning pinball addiction. It covers the otherwise plain black panel that's there on Sys 9 games. Another view is here:
I made one for Pinbot as well, and also painted that ramp too, to match the BG art:

Both? Larry from Starship Fantasy finally remade the Space Shuttle ramp... in stock OEM black, but he offered a limited run of 30 clear ones.
Clear is an interesting conundrum. IMO it doesn't look quite right and exposes a lot of otherwise hidden stuff; folks asked "why not clear blue" but apparently that would have doubled the cost. I figured I could dye it myself... but then figured "meh, monochrome is what everyone would expect". I'm a masochist who has to do things the hard way, and masking and spray-dying that ramp in 3 colors without ruining it or them was far more difficult than expected. And no way of undoing it if it looked awful, but no way of previewing it first. Fortunately I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
Still getting my Sport fix.

"One of the country's largest pork processing facilities is closing until further notice as employees fall ill with Covid-19. The closure puts the country's meat supply at risk, said the CEO of Smithfield, which operates the plant."
"South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem said during a Saturday news briefing that Smithfield employees accounted for more than half of the active coronavirus cases in the state. About 240 employees are sick, she said, out of roughly 430 active cases in the state. Because of that, she and the mayor of Sioux Falls recommended that Smithfield suspend operations for at least two weeks."

It will be interesting to see if the original tests and these newer tests are the ones promoted by the WHO. The USA took a lot of criticism for not using them early on...the reason USA didn’t use them is because they didn’t meet our scientific criteria on accuracy. Worth watching....
