Once a year, for one weekend, we build the largest arcade in the Pacific Northwest. Join us for one of the biggest and best shows in the country. What to expect?
-The venue is a large convention center with mega high ceilings, air conditioning and lots of space. It's attached to a brand new Marriot hotel, there is another Marriot hotel across the street and another nice hotel a block away. We have discounted rates at all these hotels.
-400+ games on freeplay the entire weekend. This is one of the highlights of our show, we bring our games for you to play and they aren't pulled from the floor early and the freeplay area doesn't have limited hours. Play all day right up until closing.
-There will be 13 regional satellite pinball tournaments leading up to the show where you hone your skills and win your way into the show in Seattle, Portland, Tacoma, Bremerton, Renton, Marysville and Edmonds.
-Show pinball tournaments include the Northwest Women's Championship, the massive Open Matchplay tournament, the Classics Pingolf, the Rookie/Amateur and the Kid's Tournament.
-Tech seminars, learn how to fix your games or improve your skills.
-Speakers and panels.
-Vendors
-Kid's Zone with games specifically designed for or aimed at kids.

Washington State's mask mandate is officially ending March 12th! We don't know yet what Covid measures will still be in place in June, but with the infection rates in Washington continuing to drop, we are optimistic that this year's Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show will be somewhat of a return to normal.
9043293279_fc38a820ab_c (resized).jpgYou definitely should bring your home brew, there will be a bunch this year! Fast Pinball has been helping facilitate and encourage more to come and we are hoping to make the Northwest show become the premiere event for homebrew pinball games each year!

https://www.volunteer.nwpinballshow.com/
And please locals, volunteer your games through the volunteer portal too! To bring the show back we really need everyone to pitch in and help. Right now we are about 300 games shy of where we want to be at in less than 2 months, so we've got a lot of work to do to fill out the game list!
Repair parties are definitely coming. In fact, the first one is this Saturday:
Dok's Pre-NWPAS Repair Party at the Northwest Pinball Collective
Saturday, April 16th from 12-6pm
1120 N 97th St, Seattle, WA 98103
https://maps.app.goo.gl/mxzFDaxjhdKeewcy9
This is a free public event so drop in anytime. Bring a pinball or arcade machine, board, monitor, etc. that you need help with and learn how to diagnose and repair your machine issues. Don't have something to bring? Feel free to stop by and watch, learn and ask questions, check out the collective's space and games. But we do encourage you to bring games need work and we encourage you to bring those games (and as many others that you can) to the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show in June if they are in good working order!
repartparty (resized).jpgSaturday April 30th James will be hosting a repair party in Milton, WA. James has a great collection of pinball games to play and help get ready for the show, including some rarer 80s titles. Bring your own pins and vids that you need help with or to work on. There are usually guys that can help with EM pinball repair at James' repair parties too!

In a little over 1 month we bring back the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show after a couple years of hiatus during the pandemic. It's been a lot of work restarting the show, but it's going to be great to have our yearly big non-profit arcade back and see everyone again!
We need your help to make it happen. We still need a lot more people to volunteer their games to go to the show. Without the games, it just won't be the same, so we are asking the collector community to step up and help. If you volunteer 3 or more games the volunteer transportation crew will come pick up your games, if you can self transport, even better. And for self-transport you will receive a weekend pass per game up until 5. This year the incentives for bringing games have all been increased!
Incentives for self-transported games:
1-3 Machines = one weekend pass per game, five $1 prize draw tickets.
4-6 Machines = one weekend pass per game to a max of 5, ten $1 prize draw tickets.
7-10 Machines = up to five weekend passes, ten $1 prize draw tickets, one $20 prize draw tickets.
11+ Machines = up to five weekend passes, ten $1 prize draw tickets, two $20 prize draw tickets.
Incentives for games that the show transports:
3-5 Machines (3 minimum) = one weekend pass, five $1 prize draw tickets.
6-8 Machines = two weekend passes, ten $1 prize draw tickets.
9-11 Machines = three weekend passes, ten $1 prize draw tickets, one $20 prize draw tickets.
12+ Machines = up to five weekend passes, ten $1 prize draw tickets, two $20 prize draw tickets.
And the $20 prize draw you can earn tickets for will be for a brand new Stern Godzilla Premium pinball machine! Volunteer games today:
https://www.volunteer.nwpinballshow.com
Early bird pricing on 3-day weekend passes ends this Sunday, May 1st! Buy your tickets today: https://www.nwpinballshow.com/tickets
oldshow4 (resized).jpegSunday May 1st, is the last day to buy 3-day passes to the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show at discounted prices!
Tickets: https://nwpinballshow.com/tickets
NW arcade poster Delivered Logo Added (resized).jpgThe Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show is happy to have a ton of new Stern games at next month's show! These will be located in the Marco booth during the show:
2 Avenger Infinity Quest Pro
2 Avenger Infinity Quest Premium
3 Rush Pro
3 Rush Prem
2 Deadpool Pro
2 Deadpool Premium
2 Godzilla Pro
3 Godzilla Premium (1 at prize desk for the Sunday prize drawing)
2 Mandalorian Pro
Quoted from pb456:Question: I registered as Junior Medic, got through all of that - but not sure if I needed to purchase tickets for all three days or not? I saw the deadline was yesterday on the discounted tickets, and didn't get it done. TIA
If you are volunteering for 4 hours you earn a 1-day pass, 8 hours you earn a weekend pass. If you have any questions about volunteer passes, email Sarunya at [email protected], she tracks all the volunteers and volunteer rewards. And thanks for helping out!
Quoted from RobF:Is there a way to set up the show as an official location for Insider Connect? I think I saw recent shows have specific badges or achievements for attendees that sign in to the new games.
I can reach out to Stern and Marco to see about getting this set up! I plan to change my Bride 2.0 location to the show if I can get it on the wireless there.
Interesting, what I posted above was pretty much a direct quote from Stern, maybe not currently doing them mean they decided to stop. If someone wants to pursue it with Stern to see if they can make it happen, that would be awesome.
Quoted from mc300baud:now to find a bunch of time to get games repaired and ready to go. whee!
i'll be bringing at least a dozen video games (and Ice Cold Beer and Slapshot,) and likely 6-7 pins depending on what's working and not on location around show time. shooting for 20 games total, though i usually go over that.
I thought I was so prepared this year and started prepping all my games last month. But I've been giving my Creature a dry run at the Northwest Pinball Collective and have to do sound board repairs and realized tonight I really have to replace the right ramp. I weighed buying it from Starship Fantasy at the show and installing it during Thursday set up vs. ahead of time and went ahead and bought it from Marco tonight with a cap kit for the sound board. We definitely need as many pins as you can bring!
Well, before we've even formally announced how to buy a new Stern from the Marco booth at the show, y'all figured it out and a bunch of you reached out to Jordan and bought them. There are still a few left, Jordan at Next Level is handling the sales and working with Marco and Stern to supply all the games. It looks like there are a few AIQs, Rushes and a Mando pro left if anyone wants to get one at the show. But I'd expect them all to be sold soon.
Please join us for the next Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show volunteer meeting! This will be a casual meeting over pizza to discuss all the final details and the last chance to get together before the big show. There are a bunch of new people involved and opportunities for anyone that wants to get more involved. The show is 100% volunteer run and non-profit!
Where we still need help:
We need more people to volunteer their games! Also we still need volunteers for medic, junior medic, setup and teardown, so please sign up! It takes a community to put on the show.
Volunteer games and time at: https://www.volunteer.nwpinballshow.com/
And the meeting details:
When: Sunday, May 15
Time: 12pm - 2pm
Where: The Pizza Coop
13317 NE 175th St, #x
Woodinville, WA 98072
Tel: 425-415-8415
Thank you!
We have volunteers from all over the country. Lots of times when people fly in for the show, they will volunteer for set up so they can meet a bunch of people and get to play some of the games during set up. You don't need to attend a meeting to volunteer. So yes, bring it!
Quoted from BrianMadden:I've attended the show in the past, and loved it, so this year will be the first year that I'm going to bring machines since they're specifically asking, I figure it's the least I can do. I'm going to try for 3 so I can get them to pick them up and get the pass. I'm thinking:
* Batman 66 (Catwoman Edition)
* Monster Bash (Classic Edition)
* Celts (Don't remember what the edition is called but it's the one with my own clan name in it.)
I'll probably list BM66 and MB for sale since I'm rapidly running out of room and I figure if they're already out of my basement then let's do it all at once!
I will be hanging in the FAST Pinball booth for the weekend. At this point it's looking like we'll have at least 12 machines in our booth (not counting the 3 above which will be on the floor). We'll have a bunch of homebrews, plus some classic WPC and System 11 machines with the FAST Retro Controllers in them, as well as some modern stuff running FAST, and a few more stretch surprises that I won't spoil here. But wow it will be a fun show!!
Exciting! I was talking with Aaron about it yesterday. The FAST booth is going to be on fire this year!
Quoted from AnimeDude892:Awesome. So what do I need to do on Thursday once I come inside the convention center?
Go up to the top floor and either to the registration desk or walk into the hall to the main desk in the middle and say your are a volunteer for set up. Someone should tell you a little about what's going on and where help is needed. Alot of it is rolling games from the trucks as they are unloaded into the main hall, then helping place them, unwrap them and set them up. It's fun to see the arcade get built! Sarunya is the volunteer coordinator and she should be onsite, Lou will be in charge of the floor layout. If you sign up through the volunteer portal, Sarunya will probably send you more proper instructions, but it can be a bit chaotic during set up.
Quoted from AnimeDude892:Can I still help setup if I don’t have any experience with setting up? I’m still tall and strong though. I’m new into this.
Of course, a lot of it is just rolling games around, plugging them in, and it's a great way to learn how to set up a game. We often work in teams setting up pinball games with an experienced person and lesser experienced person.
Updated speaker list with times... this will have more changes, but it's close to what the final line up will be:
Friday:
3:30-4:30pm - Collecting 101 Panel with local pinball & arcade collectors
5-6pm - Legends of Vahalla with American Pinball
6-7pm - GeekGamer TV pinball event
Saturday:
12:30-1:30pm - Funhouse 2.0 and Beyond with FAST Pinball
2-3pm - Audio for Interactive Pinball 2.0 with David Thiel (sound designer for Alien, Jersey Jack's Pirates of the Caribbean, AC/DC, Iron Man and The Hobbit)
3:30-4:30pm Cactus Canyon Remake with Butch Peel from Chicago Gaming
5-6pm - Look Out, Frisbees! Pinball Trivia for prizes with Mike Vinikour & Dwight Sullivan of Stern Pinball
8-9pm GeekGamer TV pinball event
Hey everyone, I wanted to give an update on the upcoming Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show, happening June 3-5 at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center!
First off, I hope all of you can make it! A bunch of us haven't seen each other for years because of the pandemic and it will be really great to hang out with old friends and collectors again. We are well on our way to having 400 games at the show, I think we are up to about 330 right now. The deadline for the show transporting your games is this Friday, May 13th. We picked Friday the 13th because it's a cool date, but also to give us time to plan all the truck routes and pick ups.
If you volunteer 3+ games the show will pick them up. If you self-transport, you can basically decide up until show week what you are bringing, but still please sign them up on the volunteer page so we know what's coming and we can compensate you. You get 1 free weekend pass for every game you bring yourself up to 5 passes. Volunteer page:
https://www.volunteer.nwpinballshow.com/
The final volunteer meeting for the show is this Sunday, May 15th from 12-2pm at The Pizza Coop, 13317 NE 175th St, #X, Woodinville, WA 98072
Most of the show discounted hotel rates are ending today, if you haven't booked a room and want one, get in there:

Last week's monthly Babes in Pinland night was a NWPAS satellite tournament! It had a fantastic turnout, and thanks to some generous donations from our pinball community we were able to offer cash prizes and some fabulous raffle prizes, in addition to weekend and tournament passes for the Northwest Pinball and Arcade Show!
Taking home the plaque and a weekend pass was Danielle Wilcox, in first place! Second was Emily Beirne, third Ashley Weaver, fourth Jasmijn de Jong, and tying for fifth place was our top rookie of the evening Aimee Nedds! Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make this event a success! We hope to see you all next month!
THIS THURSDAY at The Ice Box Arcade in Freelard we are running our next NWPAS Satellite event, NWPAS Satellite 2022: Icy Face-off!

icb (resized).jpgShorty's, Seattle's original barcade, is celebrating 25 years! Shorty's was the very first sponsor of the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show when we began in 2008 and has been the sponsor of the main pinball tournament ever since. Stop by Shorty's for a Coney Island dog, a beer, some pinball and help celebrate their 25 year anniversary!
shortys (resized).jpgQuoted from GroggyFrogFace:I haven't pin to a pinball show since 2011 so I think it's about time to go! Tickets bought, flight booked. Yay!
Yeah! I'll be the guy in the Pacman suit occasionally at the show if you want to say hi. --Dan
Quoted from rdleifriaf:Excellent news! I've been thinking about buying one and I'm very excited to see how it compares to the original.
@PNWPinballshow - Is there any chance Multimorphic will be there with a Weird Al kit for the P3?
No word of one yet, but there are a bunch of people planning surprise appearances for games, lotsa rumors and whispers. We hope to debut some cool stuff! If you've followed the homebrew Fight Club thread, that game will be here and it looks awesome.
2022 is the year of the 2.0 kits! They revamp older pinball games with modern hardware, programming, color displays and more. At this years show come play:
-Funhouse 2.0
-Bride of Pinbot 2.0
-Tales of the Arabian Nights 2.0
-Cactus Canyon 2.0
And… ? Well, let’s just say if things work out like we hope, there might be more!
If you are self-transporting games for the 2022 NWPAS:
-ALL self-transported games must be at the venue no later than 10pm on Thursday.
The NWPAS will NOT be able to accept any self-transported games that arrive on Friday. The 2022 show has the best problem, an over-capacity number of games have been volunteered for the show! Thursday night at set up we will be finalizing the floor layout and electrical, we won't be in the position to receive new games on Friday morning before the show opens to the public at noon. If you are bringing your own games, please bring them before 10pm on Thursday.
Thanks!
Revision! We can accept a small amount of games Friday morning, although we prefer them Thursday. If you've already submitted them on the gamelist and can only bring them Friday, we want to honor the way things have been with past shows and be flexible for people volunteering their games. Just let me know what/when the games are and we can plan for them. Thanks everyone!
Sadly, Larry at Starship Fantasy came down with Covid and won't make the show. We wish Larry all the best in recovering!
That gives us 70 extra feet of wall space... and it looks like we will fill it with more freeplay games, our game total will be the highest it's every been.
And there was 13... we have officially wrapped up the 2022 NWPAS Satellite series with our 13th event last night!
We finished VERY STRONG with 62 players at our NWPAS Satellite 2022: Memorial Day Masters hosted graciously by 8-bit Arcade! Over $1,000 worth of prizes were won with lots of raffle prizes generously provided by the location and the show. Maka continued his impressive run in the satellite claiming his 2nd victory and plaque! Ashley represented the home team by failing just short of the first place to Maka in a final tie breaker. Sarah Hager, Algird Lisaius, David Chernicoff and Richie Terry all tied for 4th place. Sarah Hager and Neil Kubath won the show weekend pass and Ashley Weaver, Richie Terry, Michael Rausch, Tim McCool, David Chernicoff, Matt Anderson, Conrad Rustad and Mike Wolf won the tournament entry package.
With the Satellite series now behind us, the main event is nearly upon us!
The tournament machines have been announced and have been updated on the main page of the tournament website: http://nwpas.wapinball.net/
Make sure to check the schedule and different tournament rules before the show to decide when and what event you want to play in. We anticipate most rounds to be sold out so make sure to show up early when sign up opens for each round. This is a very popular tournament series and the Northwest has a very large and active tournament community, as well as many of the IFPA's top players.
It's about to go down!!!!
Homebrew Highlights: Brian Cox's "Any Machine" featuring Flash Gordon 2.0, KISS 2.0 and Star Trek 2.0
If you've been to past shows, you may be familiar with Brian's work with homebrew games like Jupiter Crush, Retro Spa and Tattoo Mystique. This weekend he's bringing a custom platform that can run up to 12 different games with some hardware and software swapping. The games featured will be 3 classic Bally games revamped: Flash Gordon 2.0, KISS 2.0 and Star Trek 2.0. Brian plans to swap out to a new playfield and game code every hour, so that visitors maximize their opportunity to play all three! Look for this game on the floor near the FAST Pinball booth, along with lots of other great custom homebrew games! How cool is this?!?

f1 (resized).jpgf2 (resized).jpgf3 (resized).jpgHomebrew Highlights: Mike Becker's "Fight Club"
It's been great following the Pinside thread for this game's development and it's come a long way with many very cool innovations and details. I have to admit, I'm a huge fan of the movie, so seeing this come together has been awesome for me. Come see it and play it in person! Video of the game in action:

Over the next 48 hours we will transform this space at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center into the largest arcade ever seen in the Pacific Northwest, with over 450 pinball and arcade games from the 1940s to the most current games! All the latest pinball games, tons of vintage 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s games, possibly the most homebrew pinball games of any show, and a few surprises that we're sure will get talked about here and in other threads once the show starts.
1616 (resized).jpgIntroducing... Tipsy!
Tipsy is a prototype Irish Pub themed ball roller game, produced by DR Game Systems. A prototype will be at FAST Pinball’s game booth where you can pre-order one from the first production batch.

Zaccaria was an Italian company of pinball and arcade machines that existed in Bologna from 1974 until 1990. They both created their own games and officially licensed man classic arcade games (Frogger, Pacman, Scramble, Crazy Kong, Zaxxon) but created all new cabinet artwork and sometimes new names for the games. Their artwork is stunning. There will be quite a few Zaccaria pinball games at the show as well!
IMG_20220601_191919888 (resized).jpgQuoted from gandamack:Three day pass for $150. Is that all? Friggin' boat show was only 20 bucks to get in the door. I was gonna go, but that price is dumb. It will cost more to repair your broken-into car window after parking in downtown Tacoma for an hour.
You lost me at boat show... that's nothing like a pinball convention where you get to play 450 games all weekend, there are speakers, tournaments, vendors, homebrew games, new and rare games, and just stuff you don't see anywhere else. Most collectors bring a game and get in free, the show is highly incentivized for collectors and players to get in free by volunteering time and games to make it a big community run event and ticket sales to the general population fund the event. Those that just want to pay and be part of the public usually buy their weekend pass early when it's a cheaper rate.
FYI, the price is reflective of the cost it takes to put on the show, it's non-profit and we all do the work for free.
Definitely our largest number of games and a surprisingly large turnout for Friday, usually Friday is when we have time to work through repairs and get everything running well, but we hit the ground running! You can really tell how much the hobby has expanded over the past couple years and also how ready people were for an event like this after not doing many events for the past 2 years.
And it's really great how many rare, 2.0/revisited games, and brand new games ended up making it, along with so many classic WPC, 80s and EM games. Such a good mix of games!
In less than an hour, we have a day packed with some great seminars, stop by the seminar area to see them in person! And if you can't make it to the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show today, we will also be streaming them live!
Hear from:
FAST Pinball, LLC

Chicago Gaming Company
And pinball sound designer David D Thiel!
All seminars can be found here on YouTube as they happen live and will be archived later: http://youtube.com/geekgamertv/live
285813897_708220773606534_7282644054820980413_n (resized).jpgWe will also be live streaming tournament play on Twitch throughout today and tomorrow. Saturday afternoon's tournament streaming schedule at the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show:

Enter the drawings at the prize desk, who knows, you might win next! Tonight's drawing is for a Williams's Flash. Tomorrows drawings are for a Ms Pacman and a new Stern Mandalorian!
285335927_3281854288752816_6645299377864889650_n (resized).jpgAt the show today you should stop by the Another Castle Arcade Edition: Edmonds High Score Wall and compete for prizes! Compete on seven classic arcade games, up until 8:00 p.m., where the person with the highest score on each game wins a gift certificate to one of four local arcade bars: Another Castle Arcade, Add-A-Ball, Crave 80s, or Raygun Lounge!!!
284708968_3281837975421114_985254949802223036_n (resized).jpgI hope everyone is having a blast at the show this weekend, I know I sure am! We could really use at least a dozen more people for teardown on Sunday, even if you can only help pack up from 3-5pm to get the first set of trucks loaded and on their way that would be a huge help. It makes it so much easier if we have a full community of people helping the first couple hours, so stick around or stop if you can after the show ends. Thanks!
Our first tournament at Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show was our Classic Pingolf event sponsored by Olaf's (which incidentally is my neighborhood bar and pinball spot).
161 players participated in the 10 holes challenge and tried to get into the top 28 finals. The cut off was at 39 strokes which did not leave much room for errors. (https://matchplay.events/live/nwpaspingolf)
The finalists faced off in a 5 strikes group knockout fair strike format, which went on for 8 rounds until we had our winner. Germain finished it off against Jeff and Craig with a strong game of Quicksilver, Dave Stewart took the 4ht place plaques. All top 28 finalists won money. A total of $5,600 cash payout for this event!

Great stats and thoughts Rob! If I were to guess, attendance was down about 10% this year over 2019, I haven't seen the hard numbers yet. So likely less plays is a combination of a few less people than the last couple shows + more games than we've ever had before. I didn't track the stats on my pins, but Victor usually does, so that should be another data point when he gets around it it.
