Ha...I was looking for this last night!

Thanks for keeping the positivity and optimism going, Spencer. Looking forward to meeting up with all of you in 2022!

    Anyone hear anything about Pin-a-Go-Go?

No updates on the website. They still have October as good.

Asking because I'm trying to plan another trip back to California to see friends and family and would possibly do it around PAGG if it's still a go (go).

I'm keepin' my fingers crossed but getting my hopes up the last couple of years and having Lucy pull the football away at the last moment has me kind of pessimistic.

Heck....I still have concert tickets from 2 years ago for shows that have be postponed 2-3 times.

If a full show happens though, I'm makin' the drive. To me, GSPF is tied with the old PPE in San Rafael as the best pinball expo ever.

    Quoted from Pdxmonkey:

I wanna go. Safe to book accommodations?

Why not? Almost all hotels allow you to cancel within 24-48 hours of your arrival date.

Well, I was hoping to make the trip but my wife is having foot surgery so it looks like the countdown clock for me is reset to 404 days until my next GSPF.

Have fun, Gents. Gonna miss hanging out with my pinball buddies.

    Quoted from mrgone:

Dude, best to your Wife. When gas prices go back down i will have to make the drive over to see you.

Thanks, Spencer. We have a casita that you guys are welcome to stay in anytime.

WTF People? 166 games pledged? That's it???
We oughta be double that with less than two weeks to go.
    C'mon, let's see some contribution!
In '19 we had over 300, I think...
Stoked that Larry Z is bringing that beauty Reserve again this year.
    Just a little cheerleading...

In reading other festival threads and listening to pinball podcasts, a common theme seems to be the skyrocketing cost/value of newer pins. The price of a new Stern Pro has doubled since I bought my first NIB pin. It seems that some people are reluctant to bring their pins to shows for fear of damage.

    Quoted from practicalsteve:

As someone who has donated hundreds and hundreds of hours of my free time to the show this post can’t help but feel like sour grapes. I’m not even on the high end as I know people that have put in THOUSANDS of hours of their time into the show over the years. People that take an entire week off from work to set up and break down the show. It’s not something that just gets worked on a few weeks before the show but practically year round. Every single person that works on this show is a volunteer. We all have jobs. Families. At times it can be enormously stressful, you wouldn’t believe the amount of emails I had to go back and forth with a company just to order lanyards to give to people for bringing their games. I wanted to tear my hair out.
Why do I do it? For the love of the game, wanting others to have the best time possible. For the friendship and camaraderie I have found with others. I have made some of the best friends of my life volunteering for this show and that to me is more valuable than any wristband. We literally cannot make the show happen without our volunteers and I am beyond grateful for every last one of them, wether it be someone that shows up a couple hours early to wipe down glass, or be it someone that builds and maintains our website out of the goodness of their heart, I value every last one of them.
Volunteering should never be about a reward other than the reward of new skills learned and the self satisfaction of a job well done.

    As always...well stated, my friend.

Not Teacher's Pet, but the new last minute addition.

Love me some Heatwave. Such a fun game!

    Quoted from fireball2:

Wish you could be there to play it, my Brotato!
Looks like I picked an appropriate machine for the weather!

I so wish I could be there.

Teri keeps telling me to go but she's still in the boot so no way, eh.

    Have a blast, my friend!

    Quoted from izzy:

Does anybody know if Rob Anthony will be there and doing board work? I've sent several texts, but have not heard back from him.

It's been my experience that he rarely returns texts or email. Not sure why.

I see you got your bike....don't forget the skates!

    #393 1 year ago
    Quoted from Thomas3184:

Are there step stools there, or should I bring my own for kids?
    Or are they even allowed?

I know there were in past GSPF shows.

I volunteered for security and would bring them to parents with small children.

    Quoted from mrgone:

    Happy Sunday pinheads.
    Last day of the show.
    Let’s get some more pics.

Any picks of Camp Silverball in action?

    #476 1 year ago
    Quoted from ThatOneDude:

It was bittersweet to have the power shut off at 5. On the one hand, goodbye GSPF.
On the other hand, I was freaking exhausted and getting my games loaded up so I could crash at home was definitely a burning desire at that point.

It always brutal when it's 5 and you're in the middle of a game and just like that....it's over.

    Bittersweet is the perfect description.
