2 hour delay on Friday and 4 1/2 hour last night, (Got home to Atascadero at 2:18 AM) worth every minute of it. Been to every single one back to the beginnings in Roseville, and they get better every year. Weather and traffic, just add to the experience.

If anyone missed out on the limited edition Donny blacklight screen print we have them for sale at The Flipper Room. Your money goes back to GSPF. $40... and we can help with framing if you need it. There were only 125 made.

Thanks for the great event everyone! My family had a blast.

I never end up taking many photos, but here’s what I got from the show.

Does anyone know who had the Devils Dare black glass at the swap meet?
My friend is looking for one.
    Thanks.

    Quoted from mrgone:

Does anyone know who had the Devils Dare black glass at the swap meet?

It was Jimmy Bovensi's. It's mine now! It's a little wrinkled down in the red zone, and missing some paint in the lower right.
If I were to sell it, it would hafta wait until next year... I don't know from shipping anything, let alone a backglass.

    #859 4 years ago

    Thank you fireball.

Thank you to the entire GSPF'19 gang that got together and put on such a great event.
Man, were there a lot of great people and fantastic pinball machines gathered there in Lodi, CA.
New and old pins. What a blast! My show favorites that I played were (in no particular order) Stern Black Knight Pro, TBL, TRON LE, Octoberfest, Future Spa & BOP (hotrod chromed, CC'd & ultra restored), Transporter, TNA and that sweet JM.
I enjoyed the cabinet decal installation shop and the delicious 5 Window Beer Company craft beer on tap!!
The Rollergames that I brought clocked 481 plays (I had to adjust the VUK spring once and remove the 1-way gate that was causing ball hang-ups) and the Bally Star Trek with custom music logged in 572 issue free plays.

Hope to see you all there next year @ GSPF '20!
    Steveo~

If you weren't able to hear it over the roar of all of the games, you can listen to it here:

.. ball #3 has the longest segment of the custom music.

    Quoted from MrArt2u:

How can I possibly go a whole year without seeing all your shiny happy faces?? I guess I'll just have to stare at this big ole picture of all you at Sparky's BBQ!
Hot damn, what a good time! thanks, Sparky for the Q, JJ for the brews, and all of you for being you.
Amanda and I had a blast! We want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all the fine people that put on such a fantastic Pinball Show! Thank you to the GSPF crew, the hard working volunteers, the vendors that come out for us and, of course, the generous game bringers. And so many more people too. I've gone to a bunch of shows around the country and this one is my favorite. I'm proud to call it our home show!
We'll upload a bunch of pics somewhere when I get back from my next technology-free trip. Look for a link here or in next year's countdown post that I'm guessing Spencer already started.[quoted image]

If anyone is interested in a print of last year's group photo by MrArt2u, practicalsteve had them at this year's bbq printed on a nice card stock. Several got left behind and got wet in the rain. If you want one, send a DM to practicalsteve, and he will send you one.

    #862 4 years ago

What was the total pin count at the show? I counted about 75 EMs inside.

    It was over 300.

This year had the most pins < 5yrs old ever i believe. Only pin related games not represented was no bingos i think and no game plan pins. But what am i complaining about, getting too jaded in my old age. Great show!

There was a cabinet decal installation workshop? Note to self. Read the schedule next year.

Good times in JJs trailer/bar. Had to exit before you guys got me faded. Great pics, Blimpey!

So I finally was able to unpack from the show today. Note to self: Never schedule a job walk 200 miles from home the day after GSPF.

I have to say, the game selection this year was outstanding. There were lots of machines in very good condition. There were only a handful of games that went down, and stayed down during the show. I think 90% of the tech items I dealt with all weekend were just stuck balls.

I can't wait for next year.

That one was super nice. I wanna meet the owner of that machine and have him show me his score reel adjusting techniques. Some of the crispest reels I have ever played on.

    Until next year!

This year might be remembered as the year of the WX.

Here is what I was facing outside Austin, NV getting there. ABS city. Snow packed road, hairpin curves and a 6% down grade. Good thing I'm a Colorado native... ( - :

Made it home safe though, no traffic jams YEAH!

What do you use for the black lights themselves? The one I bought off amazon barely does anything

    #886 4 years ago

I just ordered some of these that'll arrive tomorrow. Buy one get one for the next few days:

I have 4 light fixtures in my ceiling & I wanted a bulb that doesn’t get hot, but throws off as little visible light as possible too. Something to make the posters light up, but keep the room dark. Those big bar lights can cast shadows & make the whole room purple because they are too bright.

I tried the Sunlight 2W LED bulbs, which were awesome at 365nm and gave off very little visible light, but at 2W & a single LED, they were too dim to light the room. I went with the Sunlight 20W compact fluorescent bulbs, which are just above 400nm & stay cool. They work really well for my setup. Every room is different though.

Had an amazing time as always and the rain, while a bummer, didn’t dampen spirits at all (well some of our spirits got soaked but it was worth it!)

One constructive feedback thing. In the middle room bathrooms the hand dryers are old school and weak so it takes forever to dry your hands. If they could upgrade to the turbocharged ones like in the front/EM room that’d be awesome!

Already looking forward to 2020. Hopefully I can do the pin golf with the campground pins if weather cooperates

I spent almost $500 at one of the vendor's booth, doing my part to support.  Also dropped off a board with the same vendor for repair in the hopes it could be repaired during the show.

I've been disappointed with the lack of response to my inquiries after the vendor packed up with my board on Sunday.

Seriously, how hard is it to respond to an email?

If you're talking about Rob Anthony he is driving right now. I keep seeing pics of him on the road with Antar. If you haven't already drop him another email to make sure he got it.

I've PM'd from Pinside once and emailed the address on his business website. How many times is necessary?

If he can post pics of his dog, he can send an email. He's obviously connected.

I've done the same at a pervious show were I game him a board for repair and he wasn't able to do it at the show. He repaired it and sent it back out to me. He did email me saying it was on its way. Rob is a good guy and has a very good reputation in the industry. Honestly he's probably just not checking emails while driving. Have no fear, I know he will get back to you.

Rob isn't great about returning emails. I wanted to buy a couple of items from him once but he never took the time to get back to me.

I wouldn't worry about your purchase....he's an honest guy.

    #896 4 years ago

    Thanks. I appreciate the responses.

When I dropped off the board, he didn't want me to put my personal contact info with it, which I thought was strange, especially if he planned to take it with him. He never took any contact info on me.

What's the expected wait time? It's nice to have some idea if I'm looking at 2 weeks or 6 months.

Heated dryers are so bad for germs. I just used paper towels they had outside the bathrooms for cleaning (glass?) instead.

Words can’t express how grateful I am for all the organizers, volunteers, vendors and the great people who brought all kinds of awesome pins from their personal collection to share with their fellow pinheads. This makes the best show in the country. This has been a very tough year personally however seeing my League members, my best pal Steve Borel and wife Shelly along with their hospitality plus Sparky’s (Mark) bbq made my spirits soar to a new Level. Pinwillie, Practical Steve,Spencer, Adam, Kerry Richards, Bryce, Joe, Justin, Kris, Dallas from Napa valley Pinball and of course Tom, Jason, Loren/Evette and Wally/Mary you all are extraordinary human beings and thank you for being you! I look forward to seeing you all very soon. Keep on flipping
