    Quoted from PismoArcade:

For those that may have missed this thread, a terrific story about the Cyclone that will be at GSPF this weekend.
    https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/it-pays-to-have-friends-looking-out-for-you#post-4396987

Hee Hee, I was just going to post that I finished the restoration on this one in time to bring it to the show but you beat me to it! Having missed last years show I am thrilled to be traveling a shorter distance and bringing Cyclone and South Park as well, I was hoping to bring Police Force but I don't think I'll have room in the bed of the truck for a third. See you fellow Pinsiders this weekend!

I keep refreshing the GSPF page in hopes that Creature or TOTAN will show up in the games list, I'm still holding on to hope! Gonna be a great show!

    Quoted from Cheddar:

    So it begins
We got the keys and emptied the trailer from our TV appearances yesterday.

Just got goosebumps, Friday cant get here soon enough! 3 down 297+ more to go!

    #997 5 years ago

Thanks to Steve Faith for signing up Space Shuttle! I really wanted to bring mine but the flipper relay on the main board is a little flaky and likes to loose connection every 40 or so games, just too lazy to pull the board and dink with it.

You're in for a treat. Pinball shows in CA look like this.

    Great view from down here!

    Quoted from mrgone:

    Flash!!!!!!
All over North America right now trucks are being loaded and people are in route to Lodi California for the most amazing, spectacular,
Longest running pinball show west of the Mississippi!!!

Just spent the last half hour double and triple measuring the bed of my truck and machines trying to find a way to squeeze in Police Force. Gonna be a 50/50 shot to safely fit all 3 in the bed, wont know till I load the committed 2 tomorrow night......

    #1065 5 years ago

Oh please please please tell me Pai Mei is included because I need him to mock me on how my pinball skills are amateur at best!

And so the loading begins, I’m a little concerned about those dark clouds creeping down the hill though!

It wouldn’t be fun without a little game room Jenga!

Well it was a PITA trying to figure a way to get them in with the tailgate closed but it was a futile effort. I still managed to squeeze a 3rd in the bed. Adding Police Force to the list!

    Day 2, let’s do this!

Just hit the road for the 1 1/2hr return trip, looking forward to another great day!

Someone needs to post more pics of the venue filled with pinball.

Here’s a few I shot in pinballesque fashion on a quick walk through the floor.

Wow, Wow, Wow what a show! Thank You so much to Steve, Brad, Greg, Eric, Seth, Chris, everybody behind the Saturday BBQ, volunteers and my fellow Pin Medics your warm welcome and this spectacularly organized show was more than I could have expected for the first show I brought games to and volunteered at. The public was great to socialize with, so many questions and so many thank you's over the 3 days. Those last 15 minutes before the show went dark seemed like an eternity but now that I am home and unloaded I'm already missing the momentum we had going! Can't hardly wait till GSPF 2019. I'm going to grab an ice cold hard cider and melt into my couch now! ~Cheers

    Quoted from TheDrewster:

This weekend was an absolute blast, as I anticipated. I only had a couple minor annoyances/issues. The biggest one of which was the real poor restroom situation. Not saying the Dixon Fairgrounds was any better, but paper towels would’ve enticed more handwashing due to those not-so-great dryers. Lotsa people leaving there without washing their hands. Blech.

I agree about the no paper towel situation and those dryers sucked!

On the other hand your RoboCop machine was kick ass and I was bummed when I saw it was being worked on but I did manage to get in a couple games before the show went dark, only wished I had the funds otherwise I would have come home with 4 machines instead of my 3, look forward to playing it again if you bring it next year!

    Quoted from sporazoa:

Does anyone happen to know who owned the Night Moves cocktail pinball machine? I remember the card said it may be for sale, and after I told the wife about she thought it sounded pretty cool. So I'd say that's a free pass, but of course I forgot to snap a picture of that owner card...

My machines were set up right across from him and I spent a lot of time playing Night Moves. Neither of the NM machines were for sale as I was going to make an offer myself but he was selling the Cruise themed one. I do know he was out of Reno, I'm sure somebody will chime in. I LOVED his 4 player round pool machine but it sat unplayable quite a bit.

Reassembled Cyclone this evening and other than one loose GI bulb this surprise free find took the show like a champ with 445 five ball games. By the way mof, you were supposed to beat my high score, I think a rematch is in order and before I forget thanks for the Ciffy’s, what an improvement they made!

    Quoted from mrgone:

How is everyone dealing with the pinlagg?
    I'm still pretty whipped.
And back to the grind in the morning.

My 3 games racked up just shy of 1,150 games and my feet and legs feel as if I walked as many miles having jumped right back to work today, I can only imagine how tired you and the rest of the crew is after all that hard work! Got my games reassembled and put back in place but I don’t have the energy to do a full clean and wax just yet, maybe I’ll use the long holiday weekend to do that.

    #1313 5 years ago

Only recommendation I would make other than what has already been brought up is that while I was thrilled to see the hand sanitizer at the entrance I'd love to see additional stations placed at the entrance to each hall to encourage their use. After catching terrible colds at two past shows I found myself making the trip to the sanitizer at the entrance several times a day, by late afternoon Saturday the sanitizer up front was getting close to empty.

    #1350 5 years ago

This having been my first show to bring machines to and volunteer at I found myself checking in on my 3 machines like a worried parent who just dropped off their child for their first day of preschool but this afforded me time to engage with the public as I would ask them if the machines were performing well, if they were having a good time and if they had any questions. Of course they had lots of questions but the resounding response from people, some who went out of their way to say hello and give me a one arm "bro hug" on multiple days during the festival was of immense gratitude when they realized that all the games on the show floor were brought in by private owners from their own collections with no strings attached and no payment, some were even shocked to find that machines were being repaired and maintained at no cost by volunteers. It was a huge difference being on the contributing side and much more rewarding in the end. I figured it worth mentioning to those who didn't get a chance to interact with the crowd that your hard work did not go unnoticed and to see grown adults smiling wide eyed like children was the best result one could have expected!

    #1353 5 years ago
    Quoted from practicalsteve:

I tried to hammer home many time when posting for the show on facebook how the show is entirely volunteer run and that all games are brought by owners, even going so far as showing pics of loaded trucks and rows of folded games so they could get a better idea.

After sharing video, pictures and thoughts about the show on Facebook many of my friends who couldn't make it on short notice were astounded by the effort put forth by the community and swear that they are going to make time next year to attend.

    #1355 5 years ago
    Quoted from jsa:

There were two, an import (flat blackglass) and a American (3D effect backglass). No interest in the flat one, and I don't think the other was for sale.

I played both machines at the show and the authentic 3D back glass version played so smooth!

    #1357 5 years ago
    Quoted from Cheddar:

and 2 Time Fantasys. Who thought that would ever happen?

I didn't get around to playing either of those machines in fear they might unintentionally induce a flashback, that game literally is a trip!
