    Quoted from Pinballlew:

    Thanks to Rob Anthony

I dropped my extra system 11c board off with him at PAGG. It needed a few things fixed. I just got it back today. He also put one of the new anyPin NVRAM Battery Eliminator. Looks sweet. He does good work. http://lockwhenlit.com/anyPin.htm

Mine was received today as well and has the nvram installed too....very nice!

    #103 6 years ago

339 days and counting. Lodi or bust.

    #104 6 years ago

I'm just happy the building has true A/C. Everything else is a bonus.

    Don't forget....A/C and Beer!

Honestly, I couldn't play as much pinball if I drank beer during the day. I am more about the end of day beer on the tailgate. I love beer, but I am all about pinball at PAGG (or GSPF).

    And more room=more games.
No one will be turned away from bringing a game now.

Has that actually happened? Turned away for lack of room??

Yup. PAGG has outgrown Dixon, and it ain't a bad thing!

    Quoted from pinheadpierre:

Not in the last 2 years. We have a process to remove games from the floor (usually ours) to make room for overflow games.

We do everything in our power to make sure that someone who brings a game(s) is not turned away.

Yep.... I have the "5 o'clock rule" with drinking beer. I'm always jealous of friends who can drink in the afternoon.

    Even on Holidays and Weekends?
    or Super Bowl Sunday?

Yeah....If I have a few beers in the afternoon, I'm zoned out on the couch by 6, especially when food is involved.

I found out many years ago that just about any kind of booze slows me down and makes me feel really tired. It's why I don't really consume any kind of alcohol these days. However, my two go-to's that I still do from time to time are: I like to have a nice glass of whiskey before bed if it's been a particularly rough or long day; and if I do ever have a beer(which is hardly ever), it's a Guinness. Don't know why, but I truly like that stuff.

    #119 6 years ago

A nice refreshing hard apple cider would be nice during an extended break.

Since Pin A Lo Di is taking place at the wine festival grounds
will there be any pressure to push vino down our throats?

It's Lodi, pretty much the entire town runs on wine.
There's 20 or more wineries with tasting rooms within a 10 min drive of the Festival Grounds.
Or for the beer enthusiast, there's two (three if you count Calturas) brew pubs in town.

    #122 6 years ago

334 days until The Golden State Pinball Festival!!!!

    #123 6 years ago

I'm guessing this brewery is close enough.

    https://russianriverbrewing.com/collections/gift-shop

Not super close but we are talking about Russian river here. From what I've heard it is worth a trip.

    #124 6 years ago

Locals just got to the LBC (Lodi Beer Company) downtown. About a 1/2 mile away from the show.

Make sure to visit down town for Beer, Food and Wine when you come to Pin a Gold Ball next year

I no longer drink, but to miss pliney the elder might be a real miss. For the beer aficionado. I'm pretty sure people fly in just to go there.

Personally I thought sculpin was just fine.

I would hate to go to Vegas and then not go to the strip.

    #126 6 years ago

2.5 hours to pliney from Lodi.

If I drank that is a yes. But since I don't drink anymore I will just play pinball. I tried pliney though. It was good.

    #127 6 years ago

The only reason I brought up pliney is because I have a friend down here who is into pinball, likes his pliney as much as his pinball. They should get Russian river at the show.

I don't want to piss my life away but I can't wait for 333 days to click off!

Well, we're only a month away from CAX.

    #130 6 years ago

Geez, it's HOT outside today and the rest of the week as most of you already know. So, stay inside and play more pinball!!

    #131 6 years ago

Supposed to get near there ourselves. Thank goodness for office jobs!

    #135 6 years ago

Any thoughts by the organizers to have a food truck circle or something around meal times during the weekend? I think it'd be pretty cool to have about 5 or more different food trucks to come out during certain time windows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for lunch and dinner. It could be a pretty neat way to use the ample space we've got there and add some grooviness to the event. Plus, it'd be super convenient for folks to just walk out, eat, and come back in and play.

That is, unless you've already got certain food vendors lined up...

Depend undergarments are super convenient as well. If we follow your logic -- where does the madness end???

In that case it ends when the febreeze cans run dry.

    #138 6 years ago

Well time off requested from work, so time can't move fast enough. Just want to reiterate what a fantastic time it was pagg 2017. Meeting everyone was just a blast. Pinheads of all ages, just coming together.

The Lodi thing isn't going to be a big deal I think. Seems like bigger for this event is a good fit.

Saw the posted photo albums, and it brought me back and gave me some joy at my mundane job at 6pm ish. I even made it into a few shots.

So I ramble on, but my point is the group photo. Standing next to jack in the group photo. Does anyone know this girl? She played in the napa or fulsome league. She played in the tourney on fri night in the group next to us. If you know her, send me a pm

Wait, you mean people DON'T wear Depends at pinball shows?

Got something again food trucks, do we?

Honestly, I was just hoping for something more than an overpriced, dry cheeseburger or that "tri-tip sandwich" that's an insult to the name tri-tip. Not really complaining as I understand that they were there to help raise money so I know why it's priced the way it is, but it'd be nice to have other options without having to drive anywhere. Especially for those of us that will have RVs there. Plus, most food trucks that partake in those food truck events are typically more chichi and have really great, creative stuff.

Looks like they already do this sort of thing monthly up there:

    http://www.visitlodi.com/events-calendar/lodi-food-truck-mania1/

I don't think it'd take much to get them to come out on our weekend. It'd be pretty cool, too, to get them to donate a certain percentage of their profits to the charity chosen by the organizers.

Might be a big ask, I know. But hey, this is a new location with new possibilities. Just trying to help brainstorm!

And as an added bonus, the birth place of A&W?
Yup, Lodi ca. There is still a real A&W there serving up teen burgers and frosty cold mugs of Rootbeer. Two great American icons to visit in may. Pinball and A&W.
