Yep, that was me! Game turned out great. It was a team effort getting that game ready, from work done by Cheddar to @glycerin to myself and just got it show ready a couple days before the festival. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I was surprised to not se Medieval Madness among the ~350 machines. I played a beautiful original one at TPF, but it also had the original DMD which sucked. I was amazed it actually said "I'm Lord Howard Hurtz, who the F**K are you?" My MMr bleeps this out.

How did the pinball raffle work out? I would have chosen that Sorcerer in a heartbeat!

I know you guys have stated before that raffling a NIB game is a big headache (due to CA tax/prize laws), but with all those people attending, think you'd make an absolute killing on ticket sales if you ever decided to do it (selling those tixs at a premium price). I'm not sure if Stern/JJP brought & opened all those NIB pins on the floor themselves, but perhaps they'd be interested in donating one for the charity fundraiser? Might be worth looking into again for 2019.

Here's some GSPF-1 pics that were on my phone. It was a great time and it was a silverball overdose.
I was surprised and pleasantly impressed with Iron Maiden.
TNA was so brutally awesome and had the best pin music.
It was my 1st time playing Moulin Rouge and thought the painting in process was very cool.
The Pacific Pinball Museum silver bullet trailer is alway a sweet diversion and I flipped some nice EM pins to Led Zeppelin and The Who's Pinball Wizard on the jukebox.
Bally's Transporter is so, so, so cool. (I wish that they built around 4k of them back in the day) ~~~
Kill Bill was eye candy (long lines whenever it was up)
Cliffy is T-H-E--M-A-N! He hooked up my IJ with a kick@ss carbon fiber mode start protector.
Wolfus and Chris Kuntz were busy keeping games running well for the BIG crowds.
The black light EM Williams Winner horse machine was a blast.
Lots of NIBs!!!!
There were a few nicely priced used machines FS (IMHO)
The sweetest Jurassic Park pin that I have ever had the pleasure to play (okay... 3 or 4X...)
The dude in the full mask and flag.... Now that is dedication!
Alien had a ball snag halting play for a short time.
The Paragon in the middle hall was simply gorgeous and I frequented it several times.

The complementary "lite" breakfast on Saturday morning was a classy touch from the GSPF team.
Spooky's History and ACNC seminar was great. I appreciate Charley and his family taking the time out of their beyond insane busy schedule to attend. ACNC's "butter" cabinet art is beautiful and absolutely the best.
Some naughty delinquent had some fun as they graffitied some silly stuff on my trucks window. ...I know the responsible party for this....
It was nice to get the local TV and newspaper bringing attention to the GSPF.

Thanks to all who made the inaugural GSPF a blast and what appeared (by the size of the crowds) to be a big success.
I hope GSPF '19 manages to surpasses this years event!

makes sense. I was VERY short on coolers this year for sure. Though people missed the cooler marked water also behind the trailer there was 4 left there cold when I left.

There was a lot of questions last year about being able to move it and keep the same feel.. I can speak for my self and everyone I talked to and say YOU GUYS DID IT! NICE WORK!!!

I was a little surprised that Saturday’s raffle winner chose the LW3 over Sorcerer. I was tempted to drive back on Sunday just to enter the raffle again for it.

Personally, I like the current pinball raffle offerings, usually at least one good solid 80’s SS choice the last few years. CAX has a NIB pin raffle but the attendance at the drawing is a *ZOO*

Agree. The leds were tasteful and side blades looked sharp.

I’d love to see some results posted around the raffle and silent auction being we couldn’t stay for them. Hoping some good $ was raised.

I sold raffle tickets on saturday and was able to informally poll some of the buyers. It turns out a surprising amount of pinheads (myself included) already owned a Sorceror so would have picked LW3. Some even owned multiple Sorcerors (three. One guy owned three!) I spoke to Saturday’s raffle winner’s girlfriend and I believe that’s why they chose LW3.

Only recommendation I would make other than what has already been brought up is that while I was thrilled to see the hand sanitizer at the entrance I'd love to see additional stations placed at the entrance to each hall to encourage their use. After catching terrible colds at two past shows I found myself making the trip to the sanitizer at the entrance several times a day, by late afternoon Saturday the sanitizer up front was getting close to empty.

How many does it hold?

Probably some roughian from the next town over.

Should be able to fit 6 coin doors up in an 5x8. I go with covered although wrapped and tarped an open trailer would be fine, especially in good weather. Nice thing about a covered trailer is you have a space to toss all your blankets, straps, dolly, etc during the show.

Make sure to acount for your vehicles towing capacity as a covered trailer definitely weighs more.

An original MM beeps it too, but there is a hacked “swear”rom that doesn’t. Someone was telling me once they had a swear rom for MMR too but I’ve never seen one.

I got pink eye last year in Vegas from one of the pins I played. Probably some kid with that condition common to young people played it before me. Was nasty but drops fixed it. I can see if someone was more concerned about ailments than I am would want to use sanitizer or those wipes on a machine before playing it to stay healthy.

Thanks to everyone for the amazing show, I had wayyy too much fun. Was awesome to meet so many new people and catch up with friends I hadn’t seen in a bit. I always trip out on how fortunate we are to have such an amazing community and this show in particular always highlights that for me. The crew really did a great job of smoothly transitioning the show to a better (in my opinion) location while still maintaining the “family hangout” feel of the show. Can’t wait for next year, thanks again to everyone who worked so hard to make it happen

I don't think I have given my two cents about the show yet.

All I want to say is that I cant believe how many friends I have made in this hobby. I usually like to give a shout out to each and every one after the show every year but there are just too damn many good people I know at this point that I would miss someone and feel terrible later. I have never in my life felt so included at a place. I didn't spend two seconds alone as every time I turned around there was a friendly face. The friends I have made in this hobby are far more valuable than any machine, you guys are the best!

I will give shout outs to Grey Wolf, Aaron, and Rob Anthony who all in a small or major way helped keep my Night Rider up and running for the weekend. First time I ever brought a pin to a show and you three were a huge help and made me want to do it again next year.

Also want to say thank you to Sparky one more time for the BBQ! Thank YOU!

I also want to thank anyone that gave a thumbs up, commented, or posted about the show on Facebook and Instagram, especially if I was able to share your stuff and repost it. You all made all of that hard work worth it. Special shout out to the Monterey Crew who posted a TON. You guys and gals rule.

One more thing, did anyone get a high resolution photo of the group BBQ? The one posted earlier in the thread is rather small. I would like to do something special with it, so if you did let me know. Possibly Art or Amanda?

More hand sanitizers, better hand dryers and paper towels have all been added to the hotwash list. Thanks to everyone for your positive and constructive feedback. I rarely post on Pinside but all the comments are read and considered. It was a lot of work moving the show to Lodi and I think it had a great vibe. And it's a relief that these are about the biggest complaints about show. The heartfelt comments and stories from everyone are what makes putting on GSPF worth all the effort.

Grey Wolf also helped me out a TON when I realized I forgot to put locks on the front of my games. I got them all set up on the floor on Thursday and realized I totally didn't lock them up. He graciously gave me a couple of his older locks and was seriously a lifesaver. I wanted to buy him a couple beers but I never ran into him again throughout the show. GW, if you're reading this, you're accruing beer-interest for next year's event!

Grey Wolf is a great guy. We are fortunate to have him and the other great techs at the show.

WOW, great to read all the positive comments. We are estatic that the festival was so positively accepted by the community, but we really can't take the credit. I believe the success is a true reflection of the pinball community that came out to support the show— the people who brought the games, the people who volunteered and the people who came out to play. We are very pleased that y'all seemed to embrace the change we made to a more spacious, safer and more human-friendly venue. We can’t wait until next year.
We put in the many hours it takes to manage this festival because we love to make people happy with pinball!
They might be able to make us change the name, but the name is not the show. It's the people that make the show what it is.

Definitely excited for next year, already started laying the ground work for bigger and better things to come. No time for pinlag, we are less then 12 months to our next show!

Thanks to all our VIPs (you folks who bring games) and thanks to all of our special guests that shared their stories and knowledge with all of us and finally thanks to the countless super volunteers who allow this show to function at the level it does.

That 3-day weekend show felt really good -- the whole thing. However, I didn't realize how good it felt, until the feeling was gone...

I drove home on 580, and as I hit Altamont pass I felt a warm blanket of pinball love and generosity suddenly lift away. It was a little cold for a moment... I saw a light haze in the sky, and there were once again masses of homes as far as the eye could see and my brain knew it was "back to the grind" time... and I thought -- "What the heck just happened for three days? How did that feel different than the daily grind?"

I contemplated -- well, perhaps what we are doing is putting on a "virtual Disneyland (of pinball)" for families for 3 days, and then... it vanishes like a Tibetan sand mandala... Nobody will ever know what we accomplished together, unless you were there. It was safe, warm, generous, and family-friendly in feel. It's something very special. Religion and politics were checked at the door, and all different kinds of people become cool to hang out with for 3+ days with one common goal -- enjoy pinball. It's quite an amazing feat to accomplish to bring people together like that.

I think the most amazing aspect of the hobby when experienced at a show -- is that people with very different tastes and beliefs come together for one common cause, and it just lets the best in people shine through...

It's a true space of teamwork, fun and generosity. When it's over, I miss it. It leaves me wondering -- How can I learn to create more of that good feeling in my "day life" -- how can I remind myself to add in more teamwork, fun and generosity?

So I thank everyone that planned, volunteered, and just showed up. It feels really good to have a common cause with a big team to bring smiles to people...

I goofed up my post

The energy dept also owes thanks to the volunteers Adam, Shannon, Greg for setup and tear down of the electrical for the show. Had to make a couple hardware store runs to keep up with machines coming thru the door, Lodi setup very different than Dixon. Also thanks to the organizers (Brad, Chris, Eric, Greg, Seth, Steve) fantastic show and sparky(food was great). Probably missed a few names, if I did thanks also.

Excellent venue. My son and I played so much pinball my hands hurt by Monday. My son made his first official "want list" of games...I think we can officially call this show a success.

The top of his list? Freaking Black Hole. Now I have to learn Gottlieb. Whoever brought that game, you have no idea the can of worms...

Well said and hit right on the head of the nail in my opinion. Some of us on staff think of the idea of Disneyland when we make show decisions. We hope that conveys to the guests, VIPs (game exhibitors/collectors) and volunteers who attend -- as the positive escape we are trying to form out of what and who comes in the door. The people grab it and multiply it, evidently -- so again, it's the guests that take it and mirror it and make it happen throughout. Maybe it's corny, but there was a lot of love in those rooms. It's the people that make the show.

This having been my first show to bring machines to and volunteer at I found myself checking in on my 3 machines like a worried parent who just dropped off their child for their first day of preschool but this afforded me time to engage with the public as I would ask them if the machines were performing well, if they were having a good time and if they had any questions. Of course they had lots of questions but the resounding response from people, some who went out of their way to say hello and give me a one arm "bro hug" on multiple days during the festival was of immense gratitude when they realized that all the games on the show floor were brought in by private owners from their own collections with no strings attached and no payment, some were even shocked to find that machines were being repaired and maintained at no cost by volunteers. It was a huge difference being on the contributing side and much more rewarding in the end. I figured it worth mentioning to those who didn't get a chance to interact with the crowd that your hard work did not go unnoticed and to see grown adults smiling wide eyed like children was the best result one could have expected!
