It's always heart warming to read through all the posts here on PS after a show. If people had a good time then the show was a success...it is our only gauge. We aren't in it for the money, we give it away. We aren't in it for the prestige, if we were we'd be smart enough not to break our backs bringing in our own games and working 15 hour days to make the show happen. Not to mention a year of meetings and preparations. We only do it to give back to the people in this area - the old guard, the loyalists and all the soon-to-be pinheads who walk in the door for the first time-- we want them to catch the bug we got right here at this show. And of course we do it for the kids who for the first time push a button on a game and see something REAL move.
What is the show? It's not a place nor a name. It's the people who bring their games, their passions, their elbow grease and their spirit.
The show will go on and with this fantastic community's help it will undoubtedly get better with age. The new venue gives us more elbow room, better security for the games and a place to hang out and talk, sell and nosh in the shade. It also gives us some needed space for a tournament where we are not breathing down each other's back and an indoor space for workshops that we can all use to help teach new people how to buy, repair, bling and appreciate this game we all love, pinball.
People ask about the name. At this time all we have the liberty to say is that a rose by any other name...is still a rose.
