Quoted from papazit1963:

I was gonna try and make a contending one. Then I looked again at jsa's. I can't do any better than that! That's perfect. Give the man his shirt. Maybe fine-tune the wording that's all. Great idea btw.
Mike

No! You should try!

I also suggest we start man-ing up and politely inform for these folks that they need to include folks waiting behind them or move on. The headphones are just a hog tactic so no one asks them to move. Some dudes (and it's always dudes) just pretend they can't hear ya. I know I have been too chicken to do it and I just start being passive aggressive about it. I get bummed and the hog keeps hoggin'. More than once I have seen this type of rule posted and then ignored at shows. It's our responsibility to create the proper folkways and morays expected at these shows. I think this sign on the machine is a great idea so that you can just point at it for Mr Headphones to read.

Haha I've literally reached under a game and turned it off once at PaGG because a guy played a 4 player game, turned, looked right at me as I began to walk up to the machine, and started another game. He was nice enough to only press start 3 times this time though. He was pretty heated when I cut the power but he just moved on.

I know last year I asked a couple of people to move on from my LOTR because there was a line and they were playing multiple games. They always say something stupid and I just point to the owner sticker and tell them, "that name up there, it's mine."

Never thought of posting something along the lines of "Press the start button once per player." With a big arrow on the left hand score card. Or a game hog card. Good idea Steve. It's hard to dispute the ignorance rule if it's on every game.

What would the fonzi do?

He'd walk up to ANY game, and declare, "Hey this is my game, I need to figure out why it's crediting 4 players when only one person is playing, please step aside a moment. Let me run a few checks on it. Strange, for me it's only crediting one player. Go figure... And continue playing..."

Then he'd hit the table, yell "Ayyyy," and the machine would go into wizard mode. Oh, and two girls would come out and take him by the arm, escorting him out.

I have to figure out what to do with the eyes. Maybe the hog should be wearing a pinball shirt?

HAHA I like it -- but it doesn't say WHAT to do -- I think TEACHING etiquette should be our main aim. Keep it light-hearted.

Here is what I have so far.
I know, the lettering is not straight.
I am no artist.
Consider this a rough draft.

I think the better wording would be: "Play me, then give someone else a chance."

Quoted from CactusJack:

that was actually my 1st choice. its a work in progress.

Quoted from practicalsteve:

A brief history of how children have foiled my fun at PAGG.

Quoted from practicalsteve:

We have been on the waiting list for over a year to adopt our second child and a birth mother had just picked us!

Although not as extreme I have failed to make it to PAGG due to children. Most of the time one of my boys has a baseball tournament going on. I keep hope alive every year that we can make it to PAGG.
I knew I was drawn to you for a reason, congrats and good luck with the upcoming adoption.

You know how I dealt with them, off goes the machine then I explain to them how it works.
There are some self centered people that don't understand common courtesy and when they would ask who the f%^k are you if it wasn't Roger Daltry I would then explain to them I was the guy that would be tossing their sorry ass out of the show if their behavior continued.
One guy came real close at PPE when he put 4 players on my AFM and was disabusing it.
At first he thought he was going to jump bad but ended up walking off mumbling once he realized how much I would have enjoyed tossing his sorry ass.
The people behind him were thrilled that I shut this boor (or is that boar) down.
I never really had to deal with it at PAGG but at PPE and CAX there were always a couple of them.
The signs are a good idea but a true hog won't be bothered by them, as you said people need to step up so the word gets around that this kind of behavior won't be tolerated.

100 Days until Pin A Go Go 2016!

Are you ready for the pin a go go challenge?

What is the pin a go go challenge?

Here it is,

There are 5 parts to this Challenge,

part 1, Come to pin a go go. easy right? Just show up, play pinball, meet people, and have fun.

Part 2, Bring someone new. invite a family member, friend, coworker etc. someone who has not attended before and might not be a pinhead.

Part 3, Bring a game or 3 to share. pin a go go works because of great people that bring their games to share with others.

Part 4, Volunteer. Again, pin a go go works because of all the wonderful people that bring games, set up and take down, hang banners, hand out wrist bands, run the tournament, etc,. if you have come to pin a go go more than once and enjoyed it than step up to the plate and help where you can. you are giving back to both the pinball community and the local community.

part 5, introduce yourself to at least 1 new person that you think is new to pin a go go. Welcome someone warmly and let them know what a great community we have here with all the nor cal pinheads.

That's it. You want to be pin a go go master. just complete these 5 simple and fun steps and you will be the envy of family and friends everywhere. You also get to feel all warm and fuzzy too. See you all At Pin A Go Go 2016!

#285 8 years ago

I'm the volunteer coordinator this year. If you have any questions please send them my way

#286 8 years ago

When do you guys start creating the game list for this year? I'm trying to figure out what to bring and I'd like to start sprucing those up.

Mike

#287 8 years ago

List didn't go up until April last year. Bring them all Mike!

#288 8 years ago

#290 8 years ago

Has anyone started an"unofficial what's for sale at PAGG forum" yet? If not I'll start one on Monday with my 1960 Bally Beach Queens. Need to take some photos.

#291 8 years ago

Hay! Maybe we could set up my awning (10by 10) and use it for all norcal pinheads from this site to sell our stuff??Maybe?? Last year Practicalsteve sold his wares right off the ground!!

That's a nice looking pin. What are you thinking of asking for it?

#293 8 years ago

I have a few pinballs and a couple of vids that I plan to sell eventually, I'd like to thin the herd by 10 to start with and see how it feels. I'm not interested in listing the games here and dealing with internet tire kickers. If you're local to me, PM to get my cell number if you want to come by on a weekend and look at them, maybe we can make a deal once you see what I have available. Some are nice projects that have been here for a very long time. I'm not interested in giving them away but if you catch me in a good mood, I might sell for what I have into them just to free up some space.

I would make damn sure you are on the approved volunteer list or you will find yourself out in the parking lot.
You don't want to be out there in the heat wearing a black pinball shirt.

Be polite but firm and it wouldn't hurt to have Fattrain or Bumper McB standing there with arms folded as backup.
