    Quoted from o-din:

It's been over a month since I tore the tendons in my elbow throwing fireballs at the bowling alley to finally beat both Nimblepin and Bob in the same game. Then went back three days later to try it again. My advice is DONT get tennis or bowling elbow because you probably won't like it. But it was worth it as Nimblepin is a professional caliber bowler who once in a while has an off game. The elbow's getting close to healed though.
This was more of a middle of the night "where have all the good times gone" revelation fueled by the usual. The Wilshire Theater is long gone, but was the Balboa Theater in Newport Beach's sister ship and played cult movies supreme back in the day with a monthly flyer that would let you know what nights to go. Concert movies, surf movies and what have you.
The one being restored ( supposedly as it has been going on for over twenty years now because they didn't want huge chunks of plaster falling on people's heads in case of an earthquake) is the Fox Theater downtown. The Fox in Anaheim met a similar fate as the Wilshire.

I remember seeing Ferris Buellers day off at the Fox Fullerton (along with a few other movies around that time).

    Quoted from xsvtoys:

Here is another, the Cinedome theaters in Orange, this used to be THE place to go. I remember going there for both Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Huge crowds, big events, good times.

Saw Return of the Jedi on opening day there (in one of the domes), a sneak preview of The Last Star Fighter, Gandhi, Superman II, Raiders of the Last Ark,
The Black Cauldron, DragonSlayer, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, One Crazy Summer, and a hundred or so other movies back in the '80s and '90s.
