I think that these 2 themes could be super cool, especially Sherlock Holmes, but it doesn't look good for either one to happen. AP did have both of those trademarked at one time for pinball use, but a search a while back showed me that they have since abandoned both of them.

I think the only current AP trademarks were for their company name and for Houdini. Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes, Valkyries, Poker Run, and Oktoberfest have all been abandoned. So, it leads me to believe that they are going for licensed (already trademarked) games for now.

Dennis just gets around. He's been at Bally, Williams, Stern, Heighway, Multimorphic, American, JJP, Deeproot, done his own thing with Whizbang, etc. AP may be in deep crap, but him moving on isn't necessarily an indicator of anything.

Single level means no ramps... that term doesn't just refer to upper or lower playfields. So which is it? A game with ramps, or a single level game like Gottlieb tried in the early 90s?

Indeed. The guy designed dozens of pins and has plenty of fans. Not all his games were hits, but many were, and he pretty much brought back Williams from the dead with Space Shuttle. He was a genuinely nice guy as well. I'm glad that AP honored him with the game's name.
